don't get me wrong, I think we still have a long way to go on US tv towards integration and diversity. It's still rare to have minority characters (just like gay characters) who are there NOT to be the token minority character and Archie's been saying over and over how fun it is for her to play a part that could be played by a blonde without affecting the character one bit. But a lot of the people nominated have also been (and are also) nominated for major awards.
