Does not mean I got to like broadway ( to be fair, I just do not have the money for 80 dollar seats and do not even talk about me drinking )

God I feel awful, I haven't opened a book in like half a year.

Is Broadway only for musical plays? or do they have regular ones too?

hehe don't. It's great that you are reading anything at all. And I haven't had much time to read either. I've been stuck halfway through this book for a month now. I just can't get around to sit and read more than a couple pages, which I hate.

No they have plays too. Actually "Broadway" is just theatres over a certain capacity and with large stages that are located all around Manhattan. I think there are only two theatres that are physically on Broadway
Smaller theatres are "off-broadway" and have more straight plays than musicals.

But here it's just theatre in general

That's a lame excuse. There are a lot of ways to get much cheaper tickets and off-broadway plays are much less expensive even for good seats.

bleh I hate when that happens, I'm in the middle of a half dozen books and there are some I keep re-reading from the beginning because I don't remember what happened before, and then I stop reading someplace, pick it up again like a year later...
I read a lot of fan fiction though

didn't know that! well, I don't like theatre anyway

Thanks for the thread Carla. Marie and you can make your very very long posts on this thread. I'll join in in a month.
And then there's Ellie with her B'way love.

why not? It's like saying I don't like books or tv shows. There are so many different plays, I'd be stunned you couldn't find one that you like. Now you're going to make me take this as a challenge, be careful

we won't have to hude the Broadway discussion in the Guests thread anymore although it's hard to find one production without at least one TGW alumn these days

Thanks for the new thread! I won't help this much with books because lately I manage to read only the ones for exams, but I'll certainly discuss B'way! If only I could teleport there...

Ok, I think I'll get the ball rolling. Here's my reading list for this coming week:

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (Reading this one again), and I figure we can also discuss the theatrical version of it hear?

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy (Reading tis one again too!)

and Dracula by Bram Stoker.

I've just finished reading The Sixth Man by David Baldacci and The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis

We've been hearing about teleportation for 60 years! You'd think they would have finally made some kind of breakthrough that doesn't leave us looking like deformed giant flies by now! But nooo!

Sure! And if the book discussion takes us to a movie adaptation, we can also discuss here. The idea is to keep the conversation flowing

So... reading Les Miserables again, uh? Is our recent conversation responsible for that? I don't mind taking the credit for making anyone read Hugo again

Never read that one, I'm ashamed to say. I think Tolstoy's romanticism has always been intimidating to me.

Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Ah, this one, I read a long time ago. I think it was one of the first of the genre I read, even before Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Maybe after Poe though.

I've read about this one but I've been unsure whether to add it to my already long list. Would you recommend it? I'm not usually big on spy stuff but if it's good, I'll give it a try.

Maybe Walter Bishop could help. I'll bribe him with sweets!
