She stands up for Gay rights.
She won two Fred Astaire Awards even though she never trained as a dancer, growing up.
She screamed at the top of her lungs in the show.
She wants to have Lin Manuel Miranda's babies (the spiritual kind)
Lin Manuel Miranda wants to eat her up (not in a pervy way)
She made Anita her own and after Chita and Rita, that's not an easy thing to do.
She broke her foot on stage and she stayed in character and finished the show.
Prince fell head over heels in love with her (and seriously, who knows better than Prince?)

Well if they are pulling the plug because they couldn't get bums like Jennifer Lopez interested (um... for which part, I'm not sure since all the female leads are in their early 20ies), it's just as well

Thanks Laila. I'm bummed that Lin is not going to get his shot but I agree with you, Lil... if they wanted useless superstars who can't sing or act, that's not the movie I wanted.

There was a time when musical's stars were (mostly) singer and dancer... . Some of them also actor

Yep. I don't think any of the actors who sing in their shower and decide to be in a musical movie realize how hard it is to do all three at the same time.
Even just acting-singing is hard. Look at Sweeney Todd. A nightmare. And yet both Depp and Bonham Carter are excellent. It's just not something anyone can do. You can't just act then stop and sing, then act again, you have to act while you're singing. It's not as easy as it looks.

But I'm glad the movie isn't made. If they were not going to use the original cast or any real musical people, it's better that way.

Curious to hear Lin's side of the story. Not really sure why none of the "big names" they wanted didn't want to climb on board. Too hard or just too many people in the cast and not great odds to look like the star?

a bit of both. I think Lopez knew there was no big part for her in it and there aren't that many latino kids who are arrogant enough to think they will be able to sing and dance at that level. They don't want to be an epic fail on the big screen.

Well good for them and for us. I liked the show too much to go through it with only LMM from the original cast. Any chance you'll get some video from ITH that you could share?
