I'm done with the show. drowning on my own tears. what's the point of living now?
Aww Nanda that's what fanfic and reruns are for

that sucks. I hate when my favorite actors don't get anything good to do :/ which happens pretty often
She had some interesting parts, like in House of Mirth and The Mighty, and she was great in a few others but nothing as good as her plays. Man, if I could go back in time and see them again

What makes X-Files for me isn't just the cases but Mulder and Scully too.
they were the heart of the show, whether you shipped them or not. The characters AND their relationship was what made the show work. Even the mythology episodes wouldn't have worked as well without the involvement you got from the characters.
Funny how they made the exact same mistake in TWW. Who cared about Santos when you had Bartlet?

Quote:
he did! And some really funny episodes. Bad Blood and I'll be forever grateful for bimbo Scully
Bad Blood what a fantastic episode!

Nanda, I saw the poster yesterday, I would pay to see Violet/Emily showdown
I'd pay to see it too!

I don't remember the last time I was that bored! I barely made through the half of the ep and I just can't... and I thought Boardwalk Empire was boring
thanks! I read good reviews and I was starting to wonder about my tastes!
I mean... okay they have names. Big ones. Doesn't make a show, sorry. Even Nolte

And here is something I saw yesterday and it kinda destroyed my faith in humanity... Australian promo for S1 of DA. Ke$ha? Seriously?! And I thought the American promos were bad
that's really really bad

Well I'd judge you endlessly if they weren't part of your enjoyment of the show

Ju, I'd judge myself too

I know it's a movie, but since it's based on a TV show I'll say it here. IWTB was so strange... the characters were different, the case was boring and pointless, why the hell it had nothing to do with the main plot of the show? After s9 finale there were so many things this movie could use and nothing

Right? And Santos was so bland compared to Vinick! My problem with the last season of TWW is that it feels like a spin-off. Very good on its own, but not when compared with the rest of the series.

Yeah, and I really couldn't care less about horse races

I forgot to write earlier, but recently I've been watching Sons of Anarchy, I'm just finishing S2. My friend is a fan and forced me to watch, but I'm not complaining, on the contrary

Yep, most people found the second movie to be weird/boring/whatever. What I remember is that they said it was supposed to be like the monster of the week episodes, you know, the ones that had nothing to do with the mythology.

Yes. I watched the Wondercom thing and Carter was saying that unlike the first movie they didn't have the series to help with the movie mythology. BS if you ask me

There were some very good ones back in the day but I didn't keep on reading. I remember one particularly good one called "The Magician", well it's like a book really. High Fantasy. With Mulder and Scully. Very well written! (Here's part 2 if you want to try). Spooky Award winner. Not just like anything
It was a collab and I think one of those writers went on to write professionally.

Oh and you like Casablanca if I remember correctly? Do yourself a favor and read Letters of Transit. It's a post-colonization fic that borrows from the classic and it's really good.

Most of the fics in the Classic section of this archive are pretty good. And this archive is the holy grail of XF fanfic. Hyper categorized and with lots and lots of files
It's been online for almost as long as the show!

Speaking of rewatches, I grabbed my DVDs last night and had an Xfiles Random Marathon. Ended up watching some of my favorites. Started with Kill Switch. Such a lovely fun quirky cyber romantic episode.

Yep. Disappointed? Join the club. We made jackets that say "I want to believe this movie never happened". Sure they were running on a small budget compared to FTF but come on... plot much? characters? Who were these people? And the 'guests'... really?

that gif!! I never looked for XF on tumblr because I know I'd just get lost

Quote:

I know! And to top it all off they kept saying how grand Santos was, as if saying it was going to convince anyone, and it only made me realize even more how he really wasn't. Also, sorry Jimmy Smits but you are no Alan Alda!

They were trying so hard to get the next generation rolling, too hard. But they were suffering in comparison to the others still on.
All that to get more seasons they didn't get instead of leaving us that last one in Bartlet's administration.

yeah that's not fascinating in itself for me either but if there were characters, a plot... I don't know anything really...

Nice. I love Season 2 the best so far but season 4 is really picking up for me now.

Anyone seen the new mid-season shows? Anything worth watching so far?
I tried Bomb Girls. Not bad but I don't think they'll live up to the potential of the situation.

Nothing new for me either. But I think next week Alcatraz starts.

Good stuff S3 is not very good, but S2 is amazing! I plan to start S4 soon!

Castle is back! Had a funny moment today when someone referred to me as the Richard Castle of the psych war. Haha...or maybe it's not funny, I haven't really figured that out just yet.

I'm not into Sci-Fi so I've never watched the X-Files. As far as Sci-Fi is concerned, it starts with Harry Potter, goes over to LotR and ends at Flight of the Carribean. But I've only heard good comments about it from friends.

Ok what's that supposed to mean exactly?

I don't think it was BS, they might have wanted to make the movie understandable to people who hadn't been following the show too

Well, it was supposed to say psych ward. I do a prac there and because I'm also writing a book someone made that remark.

I'm so glad. I love the show. All about it. The cases, the comedy and obviously the relationships. Great writing.

I'm sure that's what they had in mind, but they failed big time. And they disappointed the fans who wanted stuff related to the show.

I'm not very into sci-fi either, but X-Files is different. The character stuff is so strong you can get past the sci-fi if you want to
