Josh on Julianna, Alicia, Will and AW.

Will and Alicia [played by Juliana Margulies] are very close and went to Georgetown Law School together, and there is a real history there and that is a big part of obviously why she is coming to this firm. Will is an incredibly successful lawyer in Chicago; I think he is really good at what he does. I think he really enjoys living his life. He is methodical, he is loyal, he strikes me as someone who takes what he does very seriously but also tries to have a good time. He likes the Cubs, not the White Sox (laughs). He's a huge Bears fan, and I think he has a secret shrine to Michael Jordon in his living room but no one knows about it (laughs). When you work on a character, they always have to have secrets, you know?

There’s a sense of “I love these two people together, and there’s so many reasons why right now they shouldn’t be together as she works out her relationship with her husband, and she has two kids, and Will’s her boss.” And yet there is this sort of pull and connection between them that has some sort of tragic components to it. I’m really just happy that people are responding to that because we’re enjoying playing it.

It’s an all star cast – had you worked with the supporting actors (Noth, Baranski etc) before?
Josh Charles, I have known forever, and I actually had suggested him for the role.

I was fascinated by the episode where Alicia shares an intense kiss with her superior at the law firm, who happens to be her old law-school boyfriend. She then flees and goes home and initiates sex with her husband. What did you think about that scene?
Alicia's husband has cheated on her, she hasn't been touched in nine months, and she essentially uses her husband as a tool to satisfy herself. It was a bold choice for the writers and the show to include that sex scene in an aggressive and dominant way not often seen on network TV. And it was fun to play it that way.

Q: If you had to choose between Will and Peter, who would you choose?
JM: You know, I don’t know. Honestly, that’s a great question but it’s hard because you have to really look at it. Peter is the father of her children and when you see him with them, you can understand why she would choose him. On the other hand, Will is unbelievably dashing and handsome and in love with her as she is with him I think. So what do you sacrifice? I don’t know.

W: What, agree that it was just a murder? (she nods) Jury needs a suspect.

W: Yeah. You know what's so G R E A T about someone like Alicia? She's a N A T U R A L. She doesn't have to T R Y so hard.

A: Yes, I’m his new… Junior Associate.
Patty: Yeah, T H A T 'S what I M E A N T- the W A Y he L O O K S at you, that’s what I meant. I guess he finds you a challenge. Too many blonde gigglers, and why not go for someone more substantial, someone with an interesting history.
A: Mrs. Nyholm, I know how this works. We're gonna try and get into each other's heads. Can I give you a little bit of advice? After the past seven months, I'm vaccinated.
Patty: Fair enough. Let's get started.

W: They're always the last two working T O G E T H E R at night.
A: Yeah, well, so are W E.
W: Yeah, but they're leaving and returning within a few minutes of each other on foot. And you know what's across from their building?

B: "Her heart's in the right place?" Seems to be the quickest way to get fired from your firm. (Will says nothing) You S L E E P I N G with H E R ? (Will walks away) Fingers crossed that Florrick loses his appeal?
W: Nope.
B: Wow. You look serious.
W: I'm just not sleeping with her.
B: Not even a little bit? Not even in your head?! Hey, about this case. Do your G I R L F R I E N D a favor. Tell her to move on.

W: I don’t know what I mean. (pause) We said we’d have D I N N E R, didn’t we?
A: Yes. We should. (he nods & smiles)

A: But I don't want a break. I want to be here, I want to be doing a G O O D job.
W: You are doing a good J O B .

A: No. Jesse blew it. And he knows it.

A: No, he doesn't. And even if he did, it doesn't matter.

I'd like to know what your opinion is about what I said in the previous thread. Ehr, can I repeat it here?

To be fair, I didn't miss any cuddling. When it was announced as "steamy", i was waiting for something steamy. Now, it's all about Will's moves and dirty words (seen from a chick's POV) and no bodies or hugging and that may be a little disarming. Yes, I missed maybe something more, but I didn't expect anything sweet. Not in that specific scene. What I missed, overall, though, is that they never talked even to establish they weren't establishing anything. The only conversation we saw is a mystery. I think they are playing it by the ear. Day by day, night by night, not making plans. And this is odd, given what they had exchanged one season ago: "I love you" "Give me the plan". Okay: where are the love and the plan? It's like both of them gave up to their wishes in order to get what both of them couldn't resist to: the sex. The rest, we see if it ever comes, they seem to think. Or they are too exhausted by all the thinking and the struggling of the latest years. Time for basic, simple things: I want him/her. Sex between two people who feel for each other is closeness anyway. That's my interpretation of their current behavior.

I didn't miss the talking. They are currently passionate, they only have time for sex, I guess way too soon for talking. And for me, it does explain that they play ear to ear. Somehow I do prefer that, I like that these two is not only about being rational, but it's about passion. Alicia needs that, she needs to do it differently.

First: EUG!!!!!!!! YOU'RE BACK!!!!!!!!! I've missed you and our House/Stacy conversation

Welcome to the newbie who's name I forgot b/c it was a bit too long to remember at once but still welcome

So here it comes, my take on the eppi and especially the A/W moments:

The hot scene was not only incredibely hot but it also told us 4 things at the same time (talking about fantastic writing!!). In two or three sentences they told us a. what A/W talked about (and agreed upon) when Will came to her office, b. where they were (Will's appartment), c. it's still all about love (look at their faces and the way he teases her) and d. it was a couple of days (or weeks) after their PS get together. And although I o/c LOVED the scene (my hubby called it porn-with-clothes-on ) it was the writing that I felt was most awesome here!

I loved the way Alicia seems to have changed (and I'm writing seems on purpose b/c I'm not sure how far this change goes). It almost looked like the whole situation set her free. She is on an emotional high, she feels on top of the world. I think it's the combination of things that makes her feel like this. Her being free of a relationship where she was taken for granted, with a man who (I'm sorry to say this for the Peter fans) always seemed to belittle her a bit, never fully saw her as an equal. Unlike Will, Will sees her as an equal and treats her that way in all aspects of their relationship so, being with Will, she can finally fully reach her potential in every aspect of her life.

I read that some of you had mixed emotions about Will. But Will reacted the way I expected him to react. His behaviour at the office was bound to happen and it's all an act. Will had trouble hiding his feelings for Alicia the past two years when nothing happened yet, it's a lot more difficult for him now, so he is going to overreact. They're both overdoing it, so it won't work. But that's what happens when ppl are trying to hide something like this. Most of the times litterally everybody around a couple already knows (or suspects) what's going on when the couple itself thinks they're hiding their feelings perfectly. So if they go on this way, they'll be found out sooner rather then later. But IMO this is fun to watch!

Then Will's (kind of weird) talk with Kalinda. I didn't have the feeling that he was talking about his feelings for Alicia, I think he was talking about his feelings in general. Like he told Alicia in season 1 that he didn't like himself around ppl that he was playing an act (and in a way he was saying the same thing to her at the bar in the S2 finale) but not with her. When being with her he likes himself (and it showed in that hot scene ), and I think when being around Alicia we are seeing the real Will (if you guys get what I mean). I think (storywise) the scene with Kalinda is a foreshadow of the troubles that are to come for Will. I also think that's when we get to know why he feels this way about himself, he has issues. For me Will didn't change at all, he's still the same. And remember this time there is so much at stake for him, he's already invested in Alicia way more than he ever did in any of his relationships, so he is acting a bit out of place b/c that's probably how he feels right now.

The scene with Alicia and Grace was very sweet. For the first time in two years Grace didn't irritate the hell out of me, I actually liked her this episode. She noticed that Alicia was happier without Peter and (although that hurts her of course) she accepted it. I also like the way Alicia said "I'm sorry" to Grace b/c that implies that although Alicia knows she's hurting her daughter she has no plans of going back. No matter how much she loves her kids.

The last scene was great! Of course it was Will knocking on her door and that knock all of a sudden had reality sink in for Alicia and she was contemplating a little bit about what she's doing (like someone else wrote (forgot who, sorry) a way to show us her moral compass is still there). But there's no doubt in my mind that she is going to open that door to let Will in. A/W will both deal with the consequences, not now (now they're living in their little bubble of love (or better said sex ) but later.

About them not talking. The GREAT thing about this episode was IMO that they are talking! They're just not showing us, we're put at the same place as the other ppl in their lives who don't exactly know what's going on. And that's fantastic b/c most of the times we, as an audience, know exactly what's going on, but not this time. We're are a little less in the dark than the ppl around A/W but still we don't know all the details and that's really refreshing!

And in general I can't complain about their relationship at the moment, they are at the stage when they just want to have sex, let them have some fun, the happy period is going to end anyway. If there isn't some communication between them in next eps I will be worried, but now it's fine.

And I'm pretty sure that Alicia's visitor at the end of the ep was Will, it would be too much of a coincidence if it was someone else. My take on the final scene is that maybe Alicia's realizes that inviting him over to her apartment is a new territory and although she feels strong and confident she'a also a mother and still married to Peter, so it's not going to be easy.

So we didn't get the promised $7800 scene, but I have a feeling that it still exists. Maybe it'll be on the season 3 dvd. Guess the scene we got instead was just as good, but it's not like I was waiting for just steam right??

I do believe A/W have a plan (at least how to hide their affair). However, Alicia seems concerned about how things will go. She can still use Peter and she can use him efficiently only as long as her relationship with Will stays in the shadows. It'd be easy to say "ok we got a taste, let's stop", but they can't help their feelings so it goes on.

Let it be so. After all, it's Alicia-time!

We can say that the episode takes place the day after for two reasons:
1)Will's secretary tells Alicia that he is late because of last night's celebration (i can imagine she is talking about Will winning the "closing arguments" case)
2)When Will asks Alicia to talk she says "about last night ?"

However, on the other hand, I can't explain Alicia's hair cut.

We can suppose it takes palce a week later or so. Will and her could had been sleeping together several times and maybe the celebration thing is just a winning case we don't know about.

And I'm pretty sure that Alicia's visitor at the end of the ep was Will, it would be too much of a coincidence if it was someone else.

Yeah but you know the writers, they want us to believe something that is not. But who knows ?

it's all very confusing... and also one thing Will said during the sex scene: "All those late nights" - it could suggest that it's been going on for a while. But if they wanted to show us that it's not the next day after CA they should be more specific

As aga said, Jules tweeted that it happens one week after the PS. The "about last night" is a good point. Maybe, last night was not the PS. Or maybe they have messed up things
