Wow, already the 4th!

You know, I was watching TWW the other night, s6 to be exact. Why can't Eli be like Sheila Brooks (the one who took care of Vinick's campaign)? I'm not asking for a Lyman...I just wish he showed some more badassery!

I just think they show it in a different way. Then if we talk about the male characters...that's an entirely different thing. Heck, Vinick was so great that I would have voted for a Republican for once!

So, back from the last thread, what is this thing Eli is not telling Alicia about (I suppose) the campaign? and Peter is probably unaware too since it spounded not very "by the book"

It could be anything. I don't think it was big, probably negative campaigning. Like trackers on the Childs kids

Me too. Made you wish that's what Republicans candidates were like. I think it was TWW's way of saying there was nothing wrong with Republican ideas, only with the people associated with them

I still find a bit weird that Alicia didn't know about Eli being married/divorced with a child. Ok, they are not friend but considering he is pretty famous I bet it was not that difficult to have information

My guess is that she maybe they did not care and did not really look for that information. After all it was Peter who hired him, you know. I do not think Peter himself knew to much about Eli either. However you would think maybe they could have a conversation that might have indicated that he had kids

I think Eli keeps his personal life very guarded. Peter had some random facts about him in Bang about him being a classically trained pianist and what not (just to drive home the Rahm reference I guess) but he didn't know he was divorced and had a kid? It makes sense for someone in his line of business to protect his family in case any campaign turns personal. And maybe his daughter and wife (ex??) don't live in Chicago, as he said he has no life.

It's not as if he was a celebrity
He's a well known political operative in the Chicago area but that doesn't make him famous by any standards, especially for people who don't care about politics. And I don't think his private life would be worth mentioning in that field, unless there was something worth gossiping about.

That's what I figured too. The conversation he was having with his daughter was probably one he'd choose to have face to face if it was a possibility.
