Oh and found out one of my roommates had the flu all last week, so glad I avoided that! My spring allergies are starting to kick up though.
And so are mine! And my sister caught her spring cold so I'm keeping her at arm's length until she's better or there will be nobody left to take care of her when I get sick.

Right??? Like please can I take a break for 18 months

Noted I guess I will just ask my friend before packing what should I take
Heh you should! The weather in France has been ridiculous these past few years. I guess we're getting a big impact from climate changes because we are at the crossroads of a lot of different conduits and it's all going to hell

It was 27° today (unheard of in April) and tomorrow, we're back to 13°

I know Why it has to bee trough Frankfurt
Because French airports are organized crime and the taxes they ask for planes to land there make it almost impossible for most companies to be competitive?
(when I went to Porto in February, I paid 130 euros, return ticket. 30 euros for the flight and the 100 euros for the airport taxes! More than 65% of which were going to Paris)

My mom thinks they're for saving, but I like your choice better
oh Moms! always with the savings! And husbands and kids!

Good so it's more interesting in general.

And how's your food blog doing?
Heh I have upgraded my photo equipment and I'm taking an online class (as well as reading too much) about food photography so I really want to get started posting soon.
Now I'm trying to pick summery dishes because damn, it's too hot for food!

I made Cuban Ropa Vieja tonight and my sister wondered how the hell they could eat that in Cuba when it's hot!

This thursday is the award show for my writing contest. I am sure I won't be in the top 3, but hey...a boy can hope It's only for the regional this time though. Only the top 3 are allowed to enter the contest for the whole Country.

Hope you are all doing well!

When I checked the prices of flights from Frankfurt to Toulouse ( I was thinking maybe I could get the cheap flight from Germany to France) but the prices were ridicoulous,it is more affordable to go there from Poland.

mine were the same. My cousin actually had to tell my grandmother "look, if you ask me one more time, I won't come see you anymore"
She's very anti-marriage in general and was in a relationship with a woman at the time about 15 years ago so it was a all around

It's the easiest dish there is
You just drop some meat (usually beef) in a pot with pepper (roasted is better), tomatoes, spices, broth and a few herbs and leave it in the oven or on the stove and forget it for a few hours until it smells heavenly
Then you open it, shred the meat (at this point it almost shreds itself) and add a few olives, some capers, bit of salt if needed. Voila. Over rice.

I didn't take a picture though because I don't have a good dish for stews. I need to buy something but I'm past my budget for all things cookware this month

Hope you all had a good Saturday!

How is everyone doing?

Damn, does anyone feels as lazy as I do? It's must be Spring

It's kinda scary when you see how that keeps happening everywhere. It's like nobody gives a **** anymore except the crazies so statistically, they slowly get the most votes.
Yep, the crazies are more disciplined

Hey Aga

It's not just me then?
Seriously, I heard spring had a weird effect on people. I'll take that excuse

So I'm guessing your writing is not going too good?

I did. Although that tongue twister of yours got me a sprained tongue so thank you for that
(Good thing I'm in a long distance relationship or you'd get in real trouble )

yesssssssssss
but then I guess anyone getting paid to do what they love gets their dream job. Even if they are weirdos who are into maths and become accountants

Nah, it's all good in that regard, I'm surprised myself I'm almost finished. All I have to write now (for next week) is the introduction and summary in Polish (that'll be hard ) and I'm done. There'll be a lot of editing and stuff, but at least no writing.

They believe they're doing "God's work" or whatever

But yes, it's great when you're doing what you love and get paid for it.

Hey Kicks, how are you doing?

I just found out that my landlord has been dead for 2 years so I guess that explains why I haven't got any reply to any of my mail concerning repairs and stuff?

A little polishing doesn't hurt as bad

like the 43 a-holes in the US Senate who blocked the reauthorization of the "Runaway and Homeless Youth and Trafficking Prevention Act" because there was a provision specifically for LGBT runaways to get counseling adapted to their situation. I mean really?
How is nobody calling them out on that BS? They actively prevent shelters for runaway kids (and kids who escape sex trafficking) from getting money because they don't like some of them??
God is very proud, I'm sure.

Don't be sorry, it happened before but usually it's because of French tongue twisting () so at least I get the upside.

Bonus points if you get paid well enough to live on it

It's going to need a lot of polishing, I have it all in 4 separate files and it's pretty messy

It's amazing how those who are the most religious are also those who almost never follow the 'love thy neighbour' principle. Seriously this stuff gets me so mad...

Hey Gaby long time no chat. How have you been?

I have no idea. It seems his wife is still alive but she doesn't seem to care much about managing his properties. She's probably also very old.

dude! That's not polishing, that's pulling it together

I know right? Every time I see a Christian a-hole on tv ranting against gay rights, or anything else for that matter, they always mention the old testament and conveniently bypass the foundations of their religion and all the "teachings" of Christ.

Hey Gaby long time no chat. How have you been?
Wasn't feeling too great at the beginning of the week, felt a bit nauseous at the end of my shift, so I waited until I could get the first bus over to Jersey (was done around 3:30, but I'd spend over two hours waiting at Port Authority if I went to midtown then). Probably a good thing I wasn't waiting all that time at the Port. And I wanted to go to the girlfriend's because if it did get worse, I wanted to be close to her so she could take care of me when she got home from work. (I took Tuesday night off work.) Ended up seeing the doc (well, a nurse practitioner) on Thursday who gave me some meds though it's mostly fine now and I think I'm back to mostly allergies plus a cough. Though the meds were for the cough so that is also subsiding.

Went back to work Wednesday and was done really early that night -- like I was able to get to Jersey before midnight. Kind of crazy. And even with an hour meeting on Thursday, I was able to get to Jersey before the buses stopped running (though the bus was stalled a bit in the tunnel, so the girlfriend was pretty much asleep by the time I got to her apartment). Tonight was also another light night, but I really stretched it out because I knew that the girlfriend was going down to her parents' tonight to get another supply of augmentin, so even if I was done early (and I was), I wasn't going to be able to spend the night in Jersey. Technically I could, but it's just as well I'm in the city because I need to get more clothes for the next work week should there be more light nights. (But slightly worried about the lightness of work lately. It's nice, sure, but will they want to cut back to the number of people working because of that?)

Anyway, that's been what's up with me. Oh and when I do spend the nights in Jersey, I do try to get back to the city with enough time to walk from the Port to work (about 45 minutes) so I get some exercise Also also, the gym I joined a few years ago upstate has been annoying the heck out of me lately... I've been getting calls that they're trying to charge my card because there's a balance due, but as far as I know, I was paid until September 3rd, so I won't give them a card number to charge the "balance" due. It sounds like they're a collection agency, not the gym themselves because when I call the gym directly, I've spoken with their bookkeeper and managers on multiple occasions and THEY claim that everything's been resolved. Yet I keep getting these calls. And it's annoying. I really don't know what to do about that. I told the people calling me to stop calling me, but they still say there's a balance. And I don't want that to grow. So I continue to fight it. Any suggestions?

Good. Spring is a bad time to be sick.

What's causing it? Sometimes there's a decrease in activity but as long as it's not expected to last, that doesn't mean they're going to cut back.

Ugh! Those are the worst! If they can't manage their contractors, they should do the job themselves

I'd send a registered letter to the gym saying that if their people keep harassing you about imaginary unpaid bills, you're going to ask for your money back altogether and resign your contract.

There's less shows in post right now, I think, than before. Though I think they're starting to gear up for another season of one of the shows, so yeah, maybe things will pick back up soon.
