Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution (TCFTVD) will be screening The Resident (above), which follows a trio of young doctors who are exposed to the harsh realities of life in the hospital by a brilliant but difficult senior. “It is terrific,” says TCFTVD’s senior VP and managing director of EMEA, David Smyth. “It’s just a wonderful, fast-paced and compelling medical procedural about the business of medicine and the choices doctors have to make in very stressful conditions.” Smyth notes the reaction has been “really hot”, with those that have seen it commenting on a “tremendous energy”.

No but seriously, he looks hot. And not just hot, I mean, there are men way older who look hot too, but he looks 30, if that.

I'm not surprised. FOX has an increasingly dinged up reputation with viewers but not only. They are now known as the network who don't give shows a chance so foreign markets are probably not very hot buying their stuff anymore. Screenings are a good way to counter that, and long before the show actually airs too

Apparently "The Resident" is doing well with international buyers and I suppose it's good thing...

New dramas such as CBS’ “SWAT” and “SEAL Team,” ABC’s “Deception” and “For the People,” Fox’s “The Resident” and NBC “The Brave” and “Reverie” were generating some heat among the roughly 1,500 international TV buyers who took part in the weeklong marathon of screenings of new series for the 2017-18 season.

yeah my genes suck. Well, actually I have great skin so people always think I'm in my early 30ies ( suckers) but I could have done with other genes for everything else

Many other media had no issues with it. It's always matter of tastes and of opinions. Some people even predicted it wouldn't have been picked up based only on a script which was not the final one. And it was picked up. And now it was also well received by international buyers.
It will shot in Atlanta so I suppose the locations won't change.

Getting back into the medical field with their best-looking doctor show since “House,” FOX might have something really special with “The Resident.” The story of three doctors at different points in their career, with Matt Czuchry’s Dr. Conrad Hawkins sandwiched between his new intern, played by Manish Dayal, and an older doctor who may need to start considering retirement, played by Bruce Greenwood. The tension was taut, but more importantly these characters were already fleshed out and compelling in a three-minute trailer. That’s hard to do and something most of these fall trailers haven’t been able to manage. Even Emily VanCamp as a nurse who aspires to do good got a few moments to shine. There are a lot of medical dramas on the air, but this one feels more grounded and human than most.

Î think the odds are in their favor. All those blogs are just in the business of trying to keep people interested before the new shows air. Some say black, some say white.

The truth is trying to predict what'll be a hit on tv now is like trying to predict the weather: can't do it no more
But hey they have to say something so they just try and see if they can hit it. Some people will say rain, others will say sun. It'll be one or the other or maybe in between

I mean how many new shows got axed last season? And they aaaaaaall got tested before air by panels and all that stuff and they still can't tell if they're going to be hits or not so

In the meantime, it's good to see him out there promoting and if the show doesn't work, he'll get some exposure while it lasts. Worse comes to worst, it gets canceled and he'll have gotten enough publicity to carry him into the next pilot season. They cast early next year so the show won't get axed before that.

ITA. It's a flip of the coin and I think nobody can be sure about how things will turn out. Fingers crossed it will work out in a way or another for Matt. He got out of the expandable supporting characters area at least.

and that's a good thing for him. Combined with his looks and his charisma, a lead part, whether the show is a hit or not, is sure to get him more leads.
