So what about Cary in that episode? Makes sense to anyone? I'm trying to figure out the political machinery at work but I don't see it.

Maybe he knew the case would be more trouble than help?

What is with this kid? i just don't buy he was helping out the Firm by referring Lara out the goodness of his heart, He's up to something.

There were so many shots of him lurking about in the background. Watching Peter, watching Wendy. I wish instead he was looking for his missing boss. It's 10pm, Cary, do you know where your Glenn Childs is?!?

I think Cary is planning to shaft Glenn. I just don't know how the Kemp case helped him in that regard.

I think this is it. If they helped the girl- great. But whether they helped her or not, this case was a legal and political minefield. Even if they had won and everything had gone perfectly, it still would have been a long, drawn out political hot button case right in the middle of the election. I don't think it was an accident he sent a case like this specifically to Alicia and I don't think it was because he thought she'd treat the girl well.

That's what I think too but I'm not seeing the connection.

yeah I don't either. Maybe it was Glenn pulling the strings hoping that by passing on the prosecution (and saving himself the political nightmare) and getting Cary to send the girl to LGB, it would reach Peter somehow?

Making him look bad for not taking the case (see Stripped last year) and shafting Peter at the same time by association. Making it look political again?

He couldn't have foreseen Mike Tyson, sorry, the lawyer guy what's his name, giving endorsement to Peter for getting Alicia to drop the case. I mean he just couldn't.

I don't think it was about Childs. I don't think Cary really cares much about Childs. I think the only way Childs was involved was that I believed Cary when he said he didn't like that Childs had refused the case. Other than that, I think all the rest was about throwing a mess at Alicia and by association Peter with the added bonus of maybe getting the girl some help.

I want to believe that. It would make Cary about a little more than just hurting Alicia for once.

But how?

You're probably right. That's far fetched.

Not reading anything because I still haven't watched the episode so I don't know if this has already been posted.

Sorry, I hadn't read that since I was tyring to stay away from possible "spoilers". However, I'd love to see Cary playing with the Smurfs on the show! I used to have Smurfs like that when I was little!

BTW, TFTNT!

So who liked Cary last night? I really didn't mind him. He seemed sincere somehow when he told Alicia he sent the girl to her because he believed her.
And what was with all that observing the people in the room? And why did Bond introduce himself if he'd already met him at Childs'?

Yea I got the impression that what Cary did last night was trying to be nice. But it does make you think, why?does he have other motivates? Or maybe he does not and he just thinks the girl deserves good representation, I like seeing him that way, kind of made me wish he was back with the firm.

could be, maybe these are the forwards of what could happen to Cary if Glenn were to lose.

I prefer to believe Cary really did want a good representation for that girl and he knew LG&B would have granted her that. I want to believe that because I know Cary's not the vengeful person that was presented to us the last 4 episode, but the passionate and compassionate person we learnt to know last season, the same one who assured a fragile girl who was going to spend 45 years in prison he would have visited her.
I felt really sorry for him when Alicia gave him "the look".
