Okay so not much happened in this ep. But that's alright because this is the introduction to the team.

Almost everyone is in this ep. I'll post more thoughts soon so this will just be an initial reaction.

Danny & Colleen are here and they're seriously still OTP goals for me.

Luke & Claire are together! Foggy helped Luke get out of prison. He works for Jeri now...

Karen is a journalist and it's obvious that she misses Matt but Matt is done with vigilante stuff now. My shipper heart is saying this is because of Elektra's death.

Jessica & Trish! MY BABES. I love that Malcolm is in this one too. This show made me miss Jessica a lot, it has been a while.

Alexandra is working with Gao! And she's using Elektra as the weapon! I BLOODY KNEW IT!!! Although why do I get the feeling that Alexandra is the bigger boss than Gao? She's also dying so this is interesting.

I don't know I don't like Finn Jones as Danny Rand at all.

I don't mind Finn as Danny he's my least favorite Defender cause many times he's acting like a spoiled brat but he's kind of the kid in the team so he can learn

it was a slow start indeed but some characters like the JJ team I missed so much, I was really glad to just see them again

IKR? I missed Jessica & Trish sooooo much! It has been so damn long. I also like that Malcolm was around. He's got a great dynamic with Jessica which I think we'll get more of on JJ S2.

yeah, and I'm glad Malcolm is doing so well after all that's happened in JJ and the drug problems are probably all behind him for good

And that too. It's so great to see him looking so well after all the drugs that took over him in S1. I can't wait for his SL on JJ S2 next year.

I found the episode slow, but I was already imagining that it would be like that since they had to introduce the characters to new viewers, as well as show us what was going on with them since the last time we saw them in their shows

I LOVED seeing them all again, specially the supporting characters of the shows. I was missing them a lot

the defenders' "sidekicks" are so important these heroes would go crazy without them

^ ITA They give the lead character so much more depth and make they more complex... I love seeing their relationship with them

And I also like how we met their "sidekicks" on the show. Imo, the screentime for the secondary characters were utilized well. Yes they weren't in all the episodes but when they were around, they were very much needed.

that's true. they weren't always there but they were essential. I loved it that each defender got their friends/family in one place to protect them. that's what I would do with my favorite characters most of the time I was worried they'd make an easy target that way, though but thankfully it didn't happen

I agree I love seeing all the supporting characters appearing, even if it wasn't for a lot of screentime, but it made sense that the defenders would be worried about their loved ones and put them in protective custody.
And the fact that they all were together was great because we got to see some of them interacting with each other which was very interesting

And I love that there were moments, that were essential to the show, between Matt/Foggy, Jessica/Trish, Luke/Misty and Matt/Karen. They weren't just added because these characters need to interact but their scenes contributed to what was going to happen to the Defenders on the show.

I keep forgetting that Foggy met Luke in this ep...
