My favourite part of ''Is There a Doctor in the House?'' was the Bright storyline. I'm pretty sure that was one of the first times we ever saw Bright as being a human being, and not just a jerky jock. I loved it. And the dynamic between Harold and Bright was really touching, and the whole Delia-has-a-crush-on-Bright aspect to it? Cutest crush I've ever seen... Vivien Cardone was genius in it.

Me too, Janelle. The Harold/Bright stuff was superb. The best. I also loved the Delia/Bright stuff. So cute. I love the expression on Delia's face whenever Bright first walks in. Adorable!
Ephram/Amy's chemistry was amazing. I love the "I thought New York had everything?" bit. Ephram's response of "just about," literally flushes my face. Powerful stuff. In Turf Wars, drunk Ephram is outstanding. "Mr. Bush." Great, great stuff. I don't have time to comment extensively on both episodes. Busy as ever, and well, I'm plainly excited as can be about the new Harry Potter book being in my hands tonight, at midnight, which I will be doing an all nighter as I read the book until I basically drop from exhaustion.. I'll come back later on, sometime, to comment more. After my Harry Potter read. |

I'm actually just pulling myself OUT of my Harry Potter read (I've been out almost all weekend and have still managed, in about six hours total, to read 22 of the 30 chapters) to come post on here and agree with everything Wilpen said!

Yeah, I lacked sleep all weekend long due to furiously turning the pages of HBP, and I still feel the exhaustion today. Oh well, it was all worth it. I am already complaining about how I want my hands on book 7. How could JK leave us with an ending like that? Heh. I am starting my second and more thorough read of the book tonight where I take the notes and reread certain pages, etc. Yeah, I'm a huge fanatic, and I'll admit, total nerd whenever it comes to Harry Potter. I have lived on the HP board all weekend long and I'm thinking that board will be a constant thing for me for quite a while. |

Ephram drunk in "Turf Wars" was hilarious.

Not my favorite episode ever, the grandparents annoyed me. I wasn't sure why Edna was so rude to Delia's grandma. IMO It wasnt really her place to talk down to her, Edna is not her family. Good for Colin's parents telling Amy to leave the hospital. She really was putting a lot of pressure on him and his recovery. Amy telling Ephram to move on was harsh but I kind of understand why she was feeling frustrated. Her and Ephram had just kissed and it probably felt like he was just trying push Colin out of the picture. Quote:

110: This was an intense episode. Delia's little crush on bright was the cutest! Poor guy going through all that during a storm! Nina giving Andy the smackdown on his parenting was A+. GO NINA! I love how honest she is. The Andy/Jacob fight was really hard to watch and frustrating too because I don't think that Andy took his wife for granted. He wasn't home as often as he could have been but it was clear how much love they had for one another and Jacob was sticking his nose where it didnt belong imo. The Ephram/Andy moment at the end was sweet. I loved Andy telling Ephram he didnt want him to go and deep down I think thats all Ephram really wanted to hear from him anyways. Then seeing Harold worrying over Bright right after was so adorable I just love Harold's relationships with his kids and it makes me wonder why Edna and Harold arent getting along? I cant remember if she explained why already or not? Amy going to Ephram and ranting and apologizing is so awesome because it always nice to see her reaching out to Ephram and not the other way around. Her calling him different was definitely a good thing, even if he didnt completely realize it. When he told her he was staying and Amy was so excited, that was really cute. "I bet New York had everything." "Just about." |

I understood that the Jacob was heartbroken over losing his daughter, but he was undermining Andy a bit much. it was his place to decide where Ephram lived. Quote:

She wasnt banished. It seemed she went there every single day. They were just asking for some time. At the end of the day its their son and they want him to feel comfortable and recover with ease, not with all the pressure Amy was putting on him to remember her. Its not about his g/f right now and Amy IMO was sort of making it about herself.

Amy was in overdrive over the situation. I honestly don't know how she functioned given everything that she was going through. Honestly, I think this time period was tougher on her than Colin's actual death. Both were bad situations, but man, she was all over the place trying to keep it together, feeling obligated to be by Colin's side all the time. At least with Colin's death, she had the situational depression and experienced a very difficult time, but there was some odd closure she was working towards at the same time. The period before Colin's death while he still suffered effects of the brain injury were confusing, with an unknown outcome which made it all the more stressful and difficult.
But yes, I did agree with the Harts as well. They had have every right to go there. I kind of wish Harold, Rose and Edna would have helped Amy a bit more during this time period. They kind of passively allowed her to do her thing. I wish they would have taken a bit of a different approach. Quote:

Yeah I felt bad for Amy too and I know she was only trying to help, but I think her emotions were clouding the situation. She was so intent on getting the old Colin back. I think it would have benefited her more to try to just be a friend to him.
Even though its hard to admit, they essentially broke up when he was in that accident. I mean if someone doesn't remember you, then you sort of have to start from scratch. She probably would have been better off just being a supportive friend to him instead of trying to re-inforce that she was his GF before the accident. I agree about her own parents, I too think they should have tried to talk to Amy more about it. |
