Media is ripping Ben for why he didn’t choose the Steelers saying he doesn’t think the Steelers can win with Ben at QB and that affected him over anything else. But then again, he didn’t pick Green Bay either who has an elite QB. He actually had the perfect scenario in Green Bay. Hometown team and a Green Bay team he could win a Championship with. That should have been so tempting for him. Apparently not.

Think the media is wrong. He picked Arizona for money first, weather second.

Don't think the Steelers were never a realistic option in fairness, due to tight salary cup and all of our defensive starters on the d-line being pretty good. Having both Derek and TJ playing for us is basically the only positive we had over the other teams.

Picking Green Bay made no sense to me though

Really? Green Bay has a solid team right now. Defense isn’t elite but good enough. Watt is the little Wisconsin boy attending every Packer training camp. He has an attachment to the organization. I think if Green Bay had the money it would have been difficult for him to say no. He clearly took the biggest offer available.

Didn’t listen to it all. Not sure I’m convinced he almost signed with Pittsburgh.

Lol, got it.

I was shocked he didn’t go there. Think he made the decision based on money. Watch, when he’s 34/35 he’ll then want to play for the Packers. They should tell him no thanks. He’s injury-probe as is and they shouldn’t accommodate him right before he retires.

Think it makes for a good story but he never seriously considered it in the end. Pittsburgh didn’t offer the money he was looking for.

He 100% did, think them having DHop there helped a lot too

Oh yes, that helped.

He has a big ego so he might have felt threatened by Steelers D.

Possibly, but I just don't think is ready to accept having a reduced role yet
