He threw loads of interceptions in college. That was his biggest negative during draft time. This is nothing new. He throws interceptions, it’s what he does, lol. Can the Jets change this? Yes but it’s going to take time. Darnold has definitely regressed. Baker Mayfield has proven why Dorsey picked him #1. He’s playing the best by far out of all the rookies AND he hasn’t had it exactly easy either. He wasn’t handed a stacked team with great coaches, just the opposite.

But yes, everyone affiliated with the Jets cheered like they received their savior when Darnold fell to them. Even Giants fans think they should have drafted him! Giants fans should be happy they didn’t.

So I could see the Jets trying to get Bell in order to make up for the Darnold pick.

Darnold wasn’t the answer though. There’s a couple quarterbacks they’ll be able to get in next years draft. One in particular. It was great to wait even if they were clearly were wrong about Eli.

Which is why I said couple. It's not deep, so yes as a rule it sucks. But the top QB is really good and has great potential. The way the Giants are playing they will be able to grab Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon. He has a strong arm, great athleticism and moves well around the pocket. The only problem is he might decide to return to Oregon for one more year.

My other point was if the Jets were asked if they still have 100% faith in Darnold, honesty would respond no. So it was probably a blessing the Giants didn't take him. They can grab Herbert if he doesn't stay in school or make a trade for a QB.

Then his son takes over. So the Jones name and family will be attached to the franchise for many, many, many years to come. But Jerry is absolutely the first issue.
