Wow, she looks as stunning as ever! Thanks for the pic, Ellie.

love that pic.

Hey guys! I know I have been off the grid for a while, but I have been really really busy with work and school and yada yada. But I watched some old Everwood eps and the last few eps of Grey's Anatomy, and I know you all know what am talking about when I say Sarah Drew is awesome and underrated, so I figured I'd drop in.

I don't know if any of you guys followed what happened with the end of season 8 of Grey's, but April really did get featured a lot. Sarah of course did well, even if some of the plots were...less than stellar, lol. She really can elevate some bad writing, I have to say. Some of the lines...I mean in the mouth of any lesser actress, the lines would have just been ludicrousness.

April went off the rocker a little, decided to get laid, and then out of the blue regretted it all because of Jesus (and being religious even though there was no indication of her being religious before). And then got laid again, and the shock of it all made her fail her big test. In the span of like two episodes. April also kinda lost her job too. On the bright side the hottest guy on the show (imho) might be falling in love with her, so the nerdy girl might come out on top in the end. Still...I'm not a professional writer, but I think they could have been a little tighter with all the character's plots at the end of this season.

Regardless, Sarah rocked what she was given to work with. And she had some really steamy scenes which she also did well. Plus a bar fight. Despite plot implausibility on some levels, Sarah was able to win me over and even make me feel a lot of sympathy for April, even if I thought the story got a little ridiculous. I still want to know what happens with her, even with all the writing issues. Sarah made me care.

There was a rumored big death, and even though April wasn't the obvious answer by any means, the undertones of sadness Sarah conveyed to go a long with her crazy plot was enough to make people think it was April. She had a pretty small little scene where April was losing her job again, and she says this line, "I have nothing left..." The look on her face is so sad, and everyone's all 'April's gonna kill herself!' which I'm not sure was the writer's intention. (If the writer's had that clear of one lol) At the very least, it proves what we already know. Girl's got acting chops.

I haven't been able to follow interviews and stuff as closely, but from what I have read Sarah and fam are doing well and happy. Micah's hair is still red, and apparently matches the color they dye hers to for Grey's, so that's funny. I suspect there might be more interviews and stuff coming later in the summer too. And I do think April might prove to be more interesting next year, with more chances for Sarah to show her stuff (especially since she won't be dealing with maternity leave).

I hope you guys are doing well, and everything. (Also adding to my list of favorite Hannah moments, I just saw the episode where Amy drags her out of school, and Hannah says this plaintive "I never got to pee". Great moment.)

Anyway, that's the grey's update.

I don't watch greys with Sarah, but I saw her in private practice. I did see her in one episode of Greys.

oi, I've got to get to capping this last season of Grey's... seriously. I'm so behind in everything, and just want to apologize.

also, a bit random, I had a dream about Sarah last night. she was an old friend of mine, and I ran into her because she lived next door to someone I knew, and we were so excited to see each other again. she was like, you haven't even gotten to see the baby yet! and I was all, oh yeah, I'd heard you'd had a baby. and she let me take lots of pictures, as long as I promised not to put them online when I came to fan forum to tell y'all how she was doing (great, by the way!)

Thanks for that update, conn8d. :)
That Amy/Hannah moment you mentioned was adorable!

Forwood4Bamon 06-24-2012 05:09 AM

I should watch Greys because Sarah is in it.

it's not an awful show... it's not like other shows I've watched for people though and said hey, this isn't too bad! either.

conn8d 06-24-2012 03:55 PM

Grey's is okay, but it's not for everyone...on the plus side Sarah looks really pretty in it a lot of the time. And she does her best with the material she has.

Grey's a bit soaperish for me. I watched it till the 6 Season, but then I stopped because it became too much unrealistic for me - every season some new drama happens there. That's so much benefit of the doubt I could use. You could try it though, you might like it. Just have in mind that Sarah is recurring character in Season 6 and regular in Season 7 and 8, so you will need to watch the first 5 seasons without her if you want to understand what's going on with the show.

Hi! Here is some new stuff for folks. Sarah went to the Thirst Gala put on by the charitable organization Thirst Project. Seems like she had a good time. So there are plenty of new photos and a new video interview floating around.

To share a few I have seen:

mugging for the camera from here

a gallery of her and chyler leigh at the event
her hairstyle is fabulous. very classic looking.

here is a new video interview of her with "living eco"

A few friends of mine have said Sarah turned up as the narrator for a serious of audiobooks they listen too and according to LA theatre works twitter she is recording a radio play of the Misanthrope by Moliere (I really wanna know who she plays cuz that play is all kinds of awesome) Judging by their website, some of their stuff is available for free online, so we might be able to stream it eventually.

So girl seems to be keeping busy.

Hope you folks are well and are actually getting a summer. It has rained all week here. lol.

'Tos 07-01-2012 09:38 AM

SO gorgeous! Thanks for posting those, conn8d. :)

I'm glad to see that she's busy too. And I NEED to hear her narration. That sounds so interesting. I wouldn't even think of her as having the narration voice (John Beasley, Treat or Tom would what I would think of), but...yeah! She'd be great. Yup, I hope we get to stream that, for sure.

You're not the only one with the rain, we've got it up here too! :( Hopefully summer is just beginning and we'll all have super sun and great weather consistently soon!

You are so welcome!

You're right I could see Treat or tom, and for me even Emily doing more of the narration thing, but I did some sleuthing and it looks like Sarah's actually done 6 audiobooks. They seem mostly to be the young adult variety, but that's pretty cool. To me that kind of makes sense for her voice. I might be downloading one to listen to on my commute to work.

There are audio samples on this link too.

I'll keep my eyes peeled to see if/when there is a stream for the radio play. those rare pretty cool too. I've always loved the BBC radio version of Lord of the Rings.

I need to get back to an Everwood rewatch. They just don'w make shows like that these days. They are few and far between...

Forwood4Bamon 07-01-2012 01:11 PM

thanks for all that.

Huh, 6 books! I had NO idea. Good for her, money in the pocket plus it must be fun too. :) You're right, she certainly does have the voice for those kind of books. If you check any out, let us know how they are!
