I just come to this thread daily now to see the "pretty" gif. It brings me back to season 1 Ephram and that's never a bad thing.

I love how Ephram used sarcasm and humor to get through his pain. I think everyone can relate to this tactic. Or, the need to use some form of tactic. Some people are just mean, some are silent, some are overly chatty, some get drunk, some use humor/sarcasm like Ephram. The point is as long as you have some strategy that helps you go with it.

Though he had anger every once in a while, lol:

I could be quoted saying that, too.

I love this about Ephram as well. The people that are close to me know that if I get cynical and blunt this means that I'm pissed. It's how I show my frustration. I get overly sarcastic and cynical. My humor gets really dry and not just everyone's cup. Most people would be like "WTF".

Yeah usually I guess at some point when it gets too much we turn to anger. I do this as well.

I was actually doing this test to determine the gender of my brain and I realized that I can't determine it. It's like balanced. There would be times where I would be sad and depressed and times where I will be like sarcastic and angry. There will be times where I would care for others and times where I would set my foot down and fight for my rights. Though that relates to our discussion in PM .

Back to point! In this sense Ephram also had more than one thing that was working for him when it came to dealing with life. I guess he chose the strategy depending on the specific case.

This totally relates to our discussion on PM... which, by the way, I will crank up the conversation again, lol.

Ephram definitely had different strategies. He never really hurt anyone when he was angry or pissed either... well, I should say unless they deserved it because Ephram spoke truth quite often in season 1 to his father and Andy deserved every word.

I tend to rant. Sometimes I get sarcastic. But, I just use humor as an everyday stress relief. I prefer to see the funny things in life then be bugged down by how hard it can be.

Indeed if Ephram was really pissed he spoke the truth. He was however the type of guy who wouldn't turn to physical violence. He was the one to hurt with words. And he was quite good at it .

He was really good at it. I also think Ephram had empathic traits so when he was ranting/angered you felt his heart bleeding at the same time. Andy could always sense he was not just angry but terribly hurt and in pain emotionally. I think a prime example is in the Pilot when they were fighting outside. Greg was so good in that scene... his voice was shaking almost, he was so emotionally consumed with both anger and pain. It was a great moment.

This girl I met in gossip girl fandom did mb assessment of the characters and I thought it was interesting to see what the perceived results would be. I def think ephram would be an intj.

I am more on the INFJ side to be honest. I do think that he had Extrovert Feeling in him. He was great listener and he did helped people. He was Introvert though so he needed some time to recharge. I think that he genuinely wanted to help people. It was shown with Amy, Colin, Kyle. It's why I think that he would love teaching.

Michelle I'm with you on this one. I do think that Ephram had good empathic skills. That's another reason why I think that he was INFJ and not INTJ.

Regarding the scene in the Pilot you mentioned I always saw this conflict in Ephram. Like he was pissed that his mother was dead and he was pissed at his dad for not being there when he grew up and for moving. I got his frustration, but I also think that deep down he always felt uncomfortable the moment he yelled at Andy.

Plus for me Ephram wasn't pissed at Andy for just being absent father. He was pissed at him because he was absent husband also. Basically Ephram's frustration wasn't just about him, but also about the way Andy had screwed up with Julia, Delia and Ephram. Ultimately this was the reason why I didn't see Ephram's frustration as just him being brat.

You summed it up perfectly. We saw how Ephram cared for Delia. He constantly looked out for her well being. You are so right, he wasn't speaking to Andy about just himself, it was about his deceased mom, his sister, their family dynamic as a while. I cringed when a few posters thought he was bratty. I never remotely saw it that way and thankfully most didn't either.

When Ephram got moody over Amy, stuff like that, he was a typical teenager then. But when he confronted his father about his treatment of their family, Ephram was actually the adult during their conversations.

Ephram was a moody stranger who lost his mother and was stuck trying to forge a relationship with his estranged father in a strange town.
