OT4 Books #19: We lose ourselves in books. We find ourselves there too.
Hello! Welcome to the 19th Book Club! In this thread, it's all about the books. If you have a current book you're reading or a favorite book you'd love to discuss, it's all welcome. Any ideas are encouraged and never discouraged. We value everyone's opinion. Alan The Crow Shannara by Terry Brooks Watchers by Dean Koontz Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs Betty everwoodfan52 The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty The Orphan Train by Christina Baker Klin Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple Michelle Auror "Harry Potter Series" by J. K. Rowling "The 100 (novel series)" by Kass Morgan "Pretty Little Liars" by Sara Shephard "It" by Stephen King Patricia fulfilledღ "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn "Pretty Little Liars" Series by Sara Shephard "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks "Best of Me" by Nicholas Sparks "A Walk To Remember" by Nicholas Sparks Shu ds44 "1984" by George Orwell "Animal Farm" by George Orwell "Walden 2" by B.F. Skinner "The Hunger Games" Series by Suzanne Collins "Ten Little Indians" by Agatha Christie "Ten Little Indians" Published as "And Then There Were None" "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon So, if people want information on my characters, then they have to accept that I'm going to give them the information on the characters. And if they don't like it, that's the nature of fiction. You have to accept someone else's world because they made that world, so they probably know a little better than you do what goes on there. - J.K. Rowling |

Thanks for the new thread Michelle. I guess a lot of my comments on the last thread should have been made on the OT3 thread, but since J.K. Rowling was being discussed there I thought I might join in.

Looking at the books under my name it’s funny because those are some depressing books.

You’re welcome! The title is anonymous. Sometimes the best quotes are anonymous.
Discussing here is perfectly fine! We’ve been discussing Rowling (Harry Potter) on here for a while. It would feel weird not to discuss her on this thread. LOL! If you want to change up your list, let me know. Jerry, are you a big reader? I know you like history. |

I do like to read. Currently I'm reading a book called The History of Ancient Rome.
Teresa is a voracious reader. She read the entire Harry Potter series in about two weeks. __________________

That’s incredible Teresa got through the Harry Potter series in two weeks. Books 4-7 are longer. For me, quite often I pause and even takes notes, think about the chapters before proceeding. My process is slow and deliberate. |

In other news, The Ickabog is getting good but the violence continues. We’re talking hitting and kidnapping (to kill) a little girl. She’s like the main little girl character too. She was kidnapped to be murdered but the guy couldn’t go through with it so he sent her away to an ‘orphanage’ which means a dirty woman who takes in kids, emotionally abuses them and the government pays her money to supposedly take care of them. But the kids lose their identity and cannot escape her house. It’s disgusting. There’s many other bad things going on too. Have to wait until the new chapters Monday to find out if Daisy Dovetail escapes! |

It really is. Like I said, it’s so much more violent than Harry Potter. |
