I thought I liked Betty/Jughead and Archie/Veronica, but now, the pairings seem stale to me.

FP/Alice too

Ranking them though?

My ultimate ship is Betty/Jughead followed closely by Cheryl/Toni. FP/Alice, next. Then Archie/Veronica.

I have to like both parts of the pairing to ship them. I'm eh on Veronica/Archie because imo they are both dumbasses 90% of the time. Alice and Cheryl go fry as far as I'm concerned. They represent that trope where fandom loves them for some reason I can never fathom, but female characters usually get away with that more than the males.

Well, I mentioned there's a twist with Alice.

Cheryl, I love the actress and as a Clinical Psychologist, I can't help but have some empathy for her. WTF, she's been through hell and back. She has it the worst by far out of anyone.

Also, love Cheryl/Toni and love how the actresses are best friends off the screen because they light it up together on the screen too. Toni's a wonderful character too and I want what she wants.

So I don't follow the same path of people just liking them to like them. I have reasoning.

Dan was freaken Gossip Girl and I still loved him. Not sure I agree female characters skate more. Damon/TVD, Chuck/GG, Nathan season 1 (OTH) are horrible male characters who were seen as sexy and cool. Bad boys are always given a free pass in the TV world.
