Lol. I am sure many players were involved. A likely scenario is they all believed the show was done after season 7. As a result, Emily had other projects lined up. TPTB wanted Arrow to hang on to finish Crisis. It’s possible they threw all kinds of money at Stephen and they agreed on a short 10 episode season 8 to tie things up. They went to Emily and she simply said no because she thought the series was done after 7 and she had other commitments.

It could have gone down something like that.

There’s also speculation Emily never wanted to do a pregnancy storyline. She never wanted Felicity showing and pregnant and that played a part in her departure. Who knows.

But from what I’m reading on Twitter the blame is broken down like this:

1. 80% Berlanti/Crossover
2. 20% Stephen (they believe he should’ve said no because Emily said no)

It’s why I try hard not to get super emotionally involved with shows anymore. The 100 is a show I see as a red flag for me. I feel the need to pull away some.
