Yeah. She just oozes menace, something that he didn't really succeed at for me.

It still bothers me that they were all referring to the new Cicada as 'he' at first. That was obviously a woman that took them all down, and I don't understand how any of them didn't notice.

The Flash: S05.E17: Time Bomb

Okay, I love the new big bad. She's phenomenal. I especially like that she's a she. It's super cool.

Sarah Carter plays it less cheesy and her powers are more defined. For example, I can see why she would be able to take out Team Flash and her motivation for taking up the Cicada mantle is strong. Very strong. She makes you at least understand the motivation and passion even if you don't want her to succeed.

Chris Klein is best as a non-meta. He shines in the human form. The legitimately concerned father figure worked beautifully. As the episode moves along, you get the horrible sense that Future Grace is going to kill Orlin. Emotionally tough. For Orlin, he did all of this, including taking the cure, to keep Grace safe. Grace eventually grows up to be a monster because of Orlin’s killing-spree and he still pleads with The Flash to keep her safe with his dying wish. Really sad, horrible ending. When you think about Orlin before he even started taking care of little Grace... he was broken and bitter. He did not have an easy life to say the least. Death is the best way for him to finally gain peace.

It took forever for Nora's secret to come out and surprisingly (even with frustration), Nora didn’t even get to share it. The back and forth between her and Eobard was perfect. I still do not understand the motive behind Eobard’s last big plan instructing Nora to reveal their secret. Does he really not have an answer for Cicada or was his plan to rattle Barry/terrorize him once again, leading him to do something reckless in the future? It could go either way but I guess the mystery is why this villain is so complex and dangerous.

Sherloque’s speech... the reveal was excellently done and Sherloque stood out as the cocky detective who couldn’t leave well enough alone. He couldn’t let Nora reveal the secret first and what followed was a brief summary of what we all knew.

The look on Barry and Nora’s faces said it all... I've mentioned before Barry is the Empath, the trusting one who trusts too much, gives too much, to a fault. I. Can. Relate. Anyway, the last person he'd suspect to betray him (in his mind) next to Iris is Nora. From Nora’s perspective, she did all of this to protect Barry and ultimately save him. Instead, all she got for it was a trip to timeout aka the pipeline.

So, given who Barry is... I can actually see why he's so devastated and angered... according to the previews, his wife is not going to like this one bit. Nora won't last long in timeout, not if Iris has anything to say about it.

But yes, an amazing ending with great performances from Tom Cavanagh, Grant Gustin, and Jessica Parker Kennedy. Incredible. Is there any doubt The Flash has the best set of actors, mains and secondary, guest characters out of all the Superhero shows on the CW? Incredible stuff.

The Flash has always reminded me of Everwood with the integration of comedy in a huge, dramatic, even heartbreaking, serious episode. The comedy was nailed in this one. I was laughing at every scene with Ralph and Cisco. Especially the scene at Iris’ office (“I Peter Parker-ed her!”). Ralph has been missing for a bit so it was a nice way to bring him back. Even Joe had a few funny one-liners.

So much happened in this one. Getting to know Grace's intriguing version of Cicada, Nora's secret is out which hopefully means we'll get into Eobard’s plan to change the timeline and what exactly is going on with Eobard in the future.

Last bits:

- Grace's Cicada is awesome.

- Chris Klein, Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, and Jessica Parker Kennedy = amazing performances.

- Comedy was sprinkled in perfectly in Everwood-fashion.

- Sherloque's big speech at the end was huge.

- Nora's indecision about telling Barry and the team...

- Iris will get Nora out of there pronto, just watch. Mom to the rescue.

- I still have no idea why Cisco is on this "I hate having powers" bandwagon, it is so random. He has never been this angsty about powers, even when his brother died or when he first got his powers and was having horrible migraines. It just doesn't make sense which is why I am convinced Carlos is really leaving after the season concludes.

She really does.

I didn't catch that! They absolutely should have noticed.

There were 33 different variant covers for Detective Comics #1000, so you might see some other covers of that issue. I know I've already used at least one other one.

We are in total agreement there. Until I read that article I linked, I didn't realize that she was The Flash's first female 'big bad.'

She's always played the 'badass' well, and it shows here. There's an arrogant confidence in the way she moves that adds to the menace to me.

He is definitely a tragic character. Even his turn to the dark side was in many ways the result of the doctor's influence on him.

Maybe Nora is the key to destroying his plan, and he wanted her to tell them so they'd lose all faith in her, thereby rendering her useless.

As soon as Nora didn't tell Barry the secret at the first of the episode, I knew that Sherloque was going to figure it out and tell everyone. I want to feel bad for her, but she had almost literally 1000 opportunities to tell him, and she only tried once, but she got interrupted. Even when Sherloque was revealing her secret, he repeatedly paused to give her a chance to jump in, but she just kept looking sad and whimpering please no instead of coming clean.

As I said in the previous paragraph, I thought he peppered his speech with little pauses to give her a chance to jump in, but she never took it.

Yeah. The look on Barry's face as he realized that what Sherloque was saying was true was gut wrenching. It seems like every season involves someone close to Barry betraying him, and this is like the ultimate betrayal.

Yeah. I can see Iris being the soft one in this scenario.

I just wish Tom hadn't had to do most of his performance in that god awful accent.

I liked Ralph again in this one. I also like his dynamic with Cisco.

Definitely the best work of the season for Chris.

I think this, combined with his refusal to tell his lady friend about his powers and meta activities is part of the plan for Cisco's exit. I could see him taking the cure and leaving to be 'normal' with his girlfriend.

It's so awesome.

What was her exact role on Smallville?

Absolutely.

That's good speculation.

I know it. She has had endless moments to go there. Sure, she was going to tell Barry in the scene before, but what's so weird is if she was almost ready to tell him, why didn't she immediately interrupt Sherloque and boldly explain to Barry this is what she had to tell him before they were interrupted. Not that it would make it totally better but she was so passive and hesitant while the reveal was happening. It will all get worked out but damn, she should have revealed this on her own much sooner.

It really sucks. Heck, he even said things to her throughout the entire season letting her know he was suspicious of her. She knew this too which is why she tried distracting him in that one episode using love. So she knew if he kept up the persistence he would eventually find out.

100%. Grant was so good there, you felt Barry's heart breaking.

Amen. I can't stand that accent. I don't like the accent when it's properly being sported by a native, much less an exaggerated version, lol.

That is precisely what I also believe is going to happen. It is going to suck, but if Carlos wants to leave it is what it is. It's better than Cisco getting killed off. Ideally, I would have loved Cisco and Gypsy reuniting and Cisco going off on some adventure with Gypsy sort of like what Winn did on Supergirl. That way he could return as Vibe/Cisco if even for the series finale. He can still return in any form as long as he's not killed off (even then they could do time travel) but I would have preferred Cisco off with Gypsy instead of this Cisco hating his powers, wanting a normal life bit.
