Supergirl: 3.10 Legion of Superheroes
I loved the special effects in this one so much. Reign truly scared me in every scene she was in. Acting, music was all pretty terrifying. Great stuff.
Glad that Ruby is safe. I got nervous seeing Sam and Ruby together in the opening scene. I still think Ruby will end up living with Alex, at least temporarily while her mom is all comic villain.
Love the introduction to the comic character, and Kara’s comic canon love interest, Brainiac 5. The actor who plays him is tremendous in the role.
Interesting they used the flashback to the Kryptonite chain from the first Superman movie.
Then there’s Streaky! Kara’s adorable comic-book kitten. Awe. How adorable was Kara telling the Streaky story while in the coma subconsciously to Brainy? It was sweet. The subconscious storyline in general was really well done too.
Does it seem like Kara’s getting over Mon-El? To me it appears as if the writers are open to going all comic-book canon by bringing together Kara and her biggest love from the comics, Brainiac 5. I would approve of Kara/Brainy. They are comic canon and I love their chemistry already. I’m guessing the writers will see how people feel about the situation. From what I’m already seeing there’s positive talk about Kara/Brainy. Comic diehards will want them but I think fans in general are already intrigued by them.
It’s great seeing Chad Lowe on the show but his character has now joined forces with Reign? I suppose we should have expected as much the second he had the conversation with Alex in prison. It seemed like Supergirl let him down so he’ll turn to Reign. Plus he’s a nut job so it works.
James/Lena are on! J'onn announcing that fighting Reign would be easier than discussing James Olson's kissing techniques was hilarious.
Melissa Benoist's impression of David Harewood as J'onn was epic. Haha Melissa was fantastic trying to convince Lena she was... Kara, lol.
I’m trying to figure out Mon-El in this episode. So he’s worried about DNA... why not ask the DEO to take some blood samples and freeze them? Also it was weird how they left Brainy frozen in the ship until they needed him. And you continued to leave everyone else frozen in the ship too... then proceeded to risk destroying the ship? What are your future plans?
The highlight of the episode as usual was the Kara/Alex scenes. The chemistry between Melissa and Chyler continues to be the strongest on the show. Alex was so worried about Kara and of course the last scene of the episode featured the two of them safely at home laughing and spending time together. The sweet story of the two sisters and the love and caring they have for each other is the heart and soul of the series. I love how that’s never going to change.
I’ll have to guess when Betty watches 1.4. Before then I’ll write up thoughts on 1.2 and 1.3. I’ll do that tomorrow.
