That's really tough. It's hard to get even 50 songs without forgetting at least another 50 you just love.

I'd like to see what you pick. I was going to give it a go, but yeah..it's really hard. If you haven't gotten the Love album yet, check that out. It took me far too long to try that out. I think it has a really great version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. And the Anthology albums have some great versions ("Please Please Me" from the first one, I much prefer it to the original).

Quote:
Does that answer your question? Hee.
Hehe, definitely. Thanks!

I've only got a week off because in the summer we have three (actually, I think there are five) different blocks of semesters, so my class in this block is only Tue/Thur, and Canada Day is Tuesday and..can't go then. So yay.

Where you heading after your classes?

Home I'll probably still be around in the Internet world, just not at school. Ha.

5x7:
Spoiler:
So many twists in this episode! Wesley shot his father! No, it wasn't his father. Hee. And I totally called that something wasn't right with Wesley's "dad" right before he hit Wesley, knocking him out. Like my IM to my friend Phoebe was right before it. Hehehe to the sex with robots remark from Spike as well as his "Oh wait, what am I worried about?" Spike's bloody awesome.

5x8:
Spoiler:
Dare I say one of the best episodes yet?! First we get Spike/Dru flashbacks and Spike/Dru/Angelus flashbacks (really hoping Darla shows up before the end of the season 'cause I want more Fanged Four, bitches!). Then we get some really awesome cuts in editing. And to close we've got the return of Lindsey McDonald. Very very very awesome! SO glad I just thought Lindsey would be in the finale. I didn't know his being back for 2/3 of season 5 was going to be a major storyline! And yay for me still being suspicious of Eve. We didn't know enough about her "home life." Also, teehee, "It's.. Mountain Dew." Just love, really.

LOL. Who bought you season 1 again? I know you've told me this but surprise, surprise, it slipped my mind. Shocker? Eh, probably not. Heh.

Hee. As you know via our AIM convo, the first DVD was a bust, but I returned to the Mall of America for a new one and you'll be happy to know I have another season 1 in my hands now! I'm heading out with friends tonight, tomorrow's the 4th and I'm pretty tied up with plans but Sunday... Sunday will be my start date, well that's the plan.

Awesome! You should check out the new Hilarie/Peyton pics out there for this upcoming season. She's looking HOT in these too.

You're right. It's insane but I guess, explainable. I've been spending a ton of time with my nieces, ages 6 and 8, so I pick up anything they come across. LOL. Same with both my sister and bro-in-law while my parents are luckily immune and never get sick. So it's like my one niece gets something, then my other niece gets it, next it trickles over to me, my sister, and bro-in-law. It's this neverending pattern where we all know the minute one of my nieces get something it's only a matter of time before all of us are sick.

Lost

Alan, love your thoughts so far on the last two episodes. Looking forward to more.

Me, but my uncle got me season 2, which is why I dug season 1 out to start watching it in prep for season 2. Then I bought seasons 3-7 myself.

I've now seen up to 5x17 and going to watch as much as I can fit in before sleeping, might even finish the series or leave the finale until I wake up tomorrow, heh. Reactions will surely come in some form or another.

The Middleman

I finally got to watch the third episode, and it was the best one so far. It didn't hurt that one of my favorite actors, Mark Dacascos (probably known as "The Chairman" on Iron Chef America to most people or possibly from playing Eric Draven on the The Crow Stairway to Heaven), played Sensei Ping, and the fact that the bad guys were a clan of Luchadores was also pretty sweet. As always, the effects were cheesy, the dialogue was snappy, and the whole thing was just fun. I love this show, so I figure it will soon be cancelled, but I'm loving the ride until that happens.

I don't know if any of you watch this show, but I've been crying my eyes out during the Doctor Who finale last night. Horrible. So bittersweet, so depressing but in a beautiful way, I'm still hurting inside. but still, what a great show !

Finished with the series now Spoilers til then:

It was omgsoawesome. I really loved these lines:
* I do not have puppet cancer!
* You're a bloody puppet!
* I'm made of felt and my nose comes off.
* Is there a Geppetto in the house?
* I'm gonna tear you a new puppet-hole!
* Screw edu-tainment!

Anywho, about the end, I'm so mad that Lindsey's dead after he and Angel made their relationship more textual! "I want you, Lindsey." (beat) "I'm thinkin' about rephrasing that." Also, to make Lorne do it? UGH.

But there were some great moments as well. "Would you like me to lie to you now?" "Yes. Thank you. Yes." Also yay Connor in the finale! Using Harmony's unreliability against her? Pretty sweet. Hearing Spike's poem to Cecily and him getting a standing ovation for it? AWESOME. Seeing Anne? I gave a small smile for my LJ friend chantarelle. The line "If the next words out of your mouth are 'Kill Spike', we just might have to kiss."? Hoyay was on FIRE! Illyria blowing the head off of Vail while morphing from Fred into her now-natural form mid-swing? OMG SO MUCH LOVE.

(And what the EFF is with the menu people making the final shot be on the menu? I didn't see it before I watched, but still what the EFF?!)

Buffy

Hope you're watching, Michelle!

Harry Potter

For anyone who has ABC Family, they've been airing SS/PS (book 1), CoS (book 2), PoA (book3) all weekend long, now GoF (book 4), for the first time shortly in a few minutes. Yeah I know it's winding down so I should have informed sooner, LOL, but in case anyone is interested, PoA is finishing up right now and GoF is starting in 5 mn! Also, another airing of GoF begins right after the first airing, at 8:30 eastern.

Thanks. Looking forward to giving them. And also looking forward to all of your thoughts. Maybe we could all talk about the Buffy episodes somehow on this thread? Or somehow figure out a way to do so?

Don't see why it would be different than any other show we discuss on this thread

I had seasons 2-7 on my Amazon wishlist among other things so he picked it out from there.

Wall E

My newspaper, when this came out, said "Best movie of the decade?" and, you know what, it might be. It's up there. It's my favourite Pixar movie and I never thought anything would go above Finding Nemo.

This is just an amazing movie, and it's mostly all story. Yeah, the animation is out of this world, and it's got great music, but the story..oh, it's even quite simple, and that's the beauty of it. No big ass twists, just a simple, sweet story. There were tons of kids in the audience even with the movie being out for a while, but I have to say, I think the adults probably enjoyed it more. I sure did.

Go see this. You will not regret it.

ETA almost eight hours later:

Angel

Spoiler:
Yay Smile Time thoughts! That has to be one of the most enjoyable 44 or however many minutes on television. LOVE it. Only in the Buffyverse.

I LOVED the Illyria storyline. Man, Fred dying was frickin' heartbreaking, and then she stands up and it's like: "Woah". Like, Keanu Reeves style "woah". Amy Acker is awesome. I thought the last shot was fantastic too. I liked it a lot more than Buffy's closer, which is weird, because I'm a tremendously bigger Buffy fan (love both of course, though).

Have you gotten to any of the commentaries? I'm a big nerd for commentaries in general and Buffy/Angel just made me more of one. Joss' are almost always worth the price of the DVD alone.

I know you all like you some Evangeline Lilly, so I thought I'd post her Davidoff Cool Water commercial.

Apparently Josh Holloway has one of these commercials too, if you're into that sort of thing.

Angel/Buffy

On commentaries, Tos, I've listen to most of "Chosen" (however much I can get my DVDs to play which is pretty much everything except for the first two minutes, until the end of the opening credits) and also "Spin the Bottle."

Also,
Spoiler:
yeah, I think I'm more a Buffy fan, too. I can't think of any Buffy episodes offhand that gave me the negative reaction that some episodes of Angel did.

Angel

Spoiler:
It's been so long since I've seen any of season 5 Angel that I can't remember the specific episodes with any sort of reliability. I do remember being shocked when Lorne shot Lindsey though. It was one of the few times when I truly didn't see it coming, unlike Wesley's demise.

I am definitely more of a Buffy fan than an Angel fan. I liked me some Angel, but I didn't have the same drive to watch every single episode (let alone own every single episode like I did with Buffy.
