No, I've actually slept better lately than I usually do, thankfully!

TPBM knows how to play an instrument.

I do! I know how to play the piano (not perfectly but I can play a few things) as well as the clarinet but again, in a beginner type of way. I also can play a few things on the guitar but you know the drill, total beginner type of thing. LOL

TPBM still has leftover Christmas cookies and other desserts they are chomping on.

Can you play Harold's theme song? I think it's a clarinet or oboe tune. My mom and I were watching CBS Sunday Morning and they had a segment on tubas/tuba players. I said to my mom, "Remember when Harold said he was first chair tuba back in high school?" And she said "He should have been first chair clarinet to go with his theme music." See how amazing my family is?

I used to play the flute when I was younger but quit. Now I'm learning the ukulele.

My mom made brownies yesterday (with a layer of goat cheese in the middle and huckleberry jam on top) but they are almost gone already. Other than that, no desserts in the house!

TPBM has a favorite Looney Tunes character.

Your family is awesome!

I really am interested in what your family thought of the characters and pairings! If you want to tell me here or another thread, go for it, I just want to know. LOL

Wow, that's awesome! I think your boyfriend would be proud seeing as he was a member of the band. He wants his girlfriend musically gifted too.

And yes, I have a favorite Looney Tunes character...

Why Tweety? So cute on the outside, devious on the inside.

Thank you, thank you! Yes, they are!

And well, my dad, my brother, and I all share an immense love for Harold. Of course I love him the most and love him romantically but my brother and dad are crazy about him as well. My dad is the type that watches TV passively, sometimes working on other things instead of focusing on the show, but whenever Harold came on screen, he would perk up and pay attention. LOL My mom said her favorite is Andy but that there would be no show without Harold, so it's a close call for her. She also loved Julia.

I think I told you of this hilarity before, but I'll reiterate it: we all had character crushes as well. You already know mine, though what you might not know is that I also had a bit of a crush on Andy and a little bit on Hannah; my mom had a crush on Andy, Ephram of season 1, and Bright LOL; my brother had a crush on Madison and a little bit on Hannah; and my dad had a crush on Amy (though I'm not sure if he had a crush on Amy's character or just thought EVC was hot, hahaha!)

As far as pairings go, my family liked all of the endgame pairings, but we also liked Andy/Linda and my brother liked Ephram/Madison. Also, my brother, dad, and I obviously loved Andy/Harold. We had ongoing jokes about it throughout the entire series. My mom thought we were insane and immature about it but we got her to admit that there was tons and tons of HoYay. We asked her, if we hadn't been there to point out all the gayness, what she would have thought of Andy/Harold, if she would have simply seen them as friends and never thought anything more of it. She said, "Well, no...I think I would have thought it was...interesting between them."

What about you? Did your family ever watch "Everwood"? What did they think?

I also sing, that's actually my main instrument, so perhaps my boyfriend and I can do some kind of tuba/singing duet!

So, so awesome! And can I just say how rare it is that an entire family would watch, embrace, laugh, love, talk intellectually about a show like that? That is so great! I especially love how your dad totally got into Andy/Harold and your mom even acknowledged it. The best.

Well, I watched Everwood live with my mom. My mom watched Dawson's Creek, Everwood, Gilmore Girls with me. My dad never watched Everwood with us. I am trying to remember why that is the case because I know he watched Gilmore Girls with us. I think this might have been a time period with him traveling a ton for his job. I think that was it and we just never got him to catch up. I think that's okay because he only has eyes for Graham on Gilmore Girls anyway.

Regarding my mom and what she liked/disliked:

1. I am proud to say she loathed Madison and was completely disgusted with Ephram/Madison to the point of her actually thinking about stopping the show all together, she hated it so much. She was repulsed and could hardly watch. In fact, she wouldn't watch. If we were watching live, she would take an opportunity to grab a beverage or make a quick phone call because she simply couldn't stand watching Ephram/Madison. If we watched in delay mode, she would have me fast forward their scenes. She really was sickened and in a very disgusted, passionate way. My mom is also as liberal as they come. There is not a lot she doesn't try to embrace. She is socially liberal, and simply keeps an open mind about everything. She just couldn't go there with Madison and Ephram/Madison. She couldn't do it.

I've told the story before about us watching an episode one time and my TV going all wonky and practically blowing up in front of us. My mom said it was probably due to Madison and Ephram/Madison being on the screen and the TV couldn't take it.

2. She loved all the main characters, all of them.. Andy/Ephram/Harold/Amy/Delia/Bright/Rose/Nina/Julia/Edna/Irv/Hannah. She also loved Linda, too, though sometimes the HIV storyline made her sad. She also hated how Harold was left to deal with the aftermath of his medical practice and lack of insurance but certainly glad when Andy/Harold came together! She was indifferent about Jake. She hated Amanda.

3. She loved Ephram/Amy, Harold/Rose and Andy/Nina. She adored Ephram/Amy, though. She liked Bright/Hannah but at times thought they were a bit too different so she understood when things went south for them.

4. If I had to say who her favorite older character and younger character are it would be... Andy and Amy.

5. She was never a true Colin fan. She was more indifferent. She thought the story was realistic but Colin as a person, the real Colin, she wasn't a true fan of. She loved Laynie and to this day, wonders where she went when season 3 started. LOL

6. She loved the series finale, loved it.

I know, right? I am always so glad when my family all watches a TV series together. I'm sappy that way. My brother and I have tons of shows that just he and I watch, my mom and I have shows that just she and I watch, my brother/mom/dad have shows that just they watch, and my mom/dad/me have shows that just we watch (YES OUR FAMILY LOVES TV OKAY? ) but I'm especially happy when we have a show that we all watch together and even more when it's a show that we all get obsessed with. Right now, we're all watching and enjoying "Brothers and Sisters", but we're not as entrenched in it as we were with "Everwood" of course. Actually, the only show that I can think of that we (as a family) got obsessed with just as much as "Everwood" was "Prison Break".

I think that's why my dad loves "Gilmore Girls" too. It's mostly a show I watch with my mom but my brother and dad both like it a lot too, and my dad definitely has a crush on Lorelai. Which is a bit weird because Lorelai is so much like me, by far the TV character that I can relate to the most.

That's also why I ship Lorelai/Harold in a crossover series.

! That sounds like what my mom did with Andy/Amanda. She even said, on this rewatch, that she didn't want to watch season 3 at all because of Andy/Amanda. She did end up watching most of season 3 and even some of the Andy/Amanda episodes but there were others that she gladly missed.

Yep, my family loved Linda, was indifferent to Jake (sometimes annoyed by him, but mostly indifferent), and disliked Amanda/just wanted her storyline over with. My dad hated Ephram in season 3 and 4 too.

Interesting! Like me, my family members were pretty indifferent to Ephram/Amy, loved Harold/Rose, and liked Bright/Hannah. We were all disappointed in Bright's cheating and wanted Bright and Hannah to reunite sometime in the future.

Quote:
4. If I had to say who her favorite older character and younger character were it would be... Andy and Amy.
Ah, I forgot to say who my family's favorite younger characters were! Hmm...you know, I think it would have been Bright or Hannah for all of us. I'm not 100% sure about my dad though; the only opinions of his that I know for sure are that his favorite character was Harold, that he was annoyed with Ephram, and that he loved Harold/Andy.

My mom didn't really like Colin either. I defended him a bit though because I think the "real Colin" seemed like a decent enough person to me.

That's what I think, but yet! Still married to Rose. OH! But I don't think I told you the latest yet: yesterday, Harold cancelled one of his appointments just to drop by my house and give me something, a plastic spork. He said that they've stocked Sam's with sporks now and it reminded him of me because I'm so unique! I know, it's not a big deal or anything and it might not mean as much as the pencil stub thing, but it could be a good sign, don't you think? It at least means that he's reminded of me while going about his daily routine, and that he's also thinking metaphorically about me. Or perhaps I'm over-analyzing it. I don't even know anymore.

It's unique and SO awesome. I am sitting here right now watching a show with my parents. I mean, where is the rule that adult children can't watch shows with parents and siblings and as an entire family? Is that supposedly "uncool" and I should be out getting drunk or hitting a club or something instead tonight? No thanks. I love and get along with my family and I prefer to be with them instead of a loud, irritating place I will be miserable at.

My mom was just like your mom with Andy/Amanda. Loathed them. She could get through this pairing better because it was tied up more quickly. She had many moments where she was like, "WTF is Andy doing?!" She was disgusted. She did feel sorry for Amanda and her situation though. That's the irony. She didn't hate her. She felt for her. She HATED Madison. LOL She just hated that Andy was dumb enough to get involved with Amanda.
