The bright side of Leo is very bright indeed, "sunny side up" they are very much attuned to the life giving properties of our Sun itself. The typical Leo is flamboyant and generous with tremendous charm and a magnanimous spirit. The fixed quality of this sign does help to restrain a large dose of over-exuberance. Leos are loyal, self assured, hard working, and great organizers (only if they can be boss!)

The dark side
The dark side of Leo creeps out usually when they are, (or think that they are) being ignored. Sulking results when they are not the absolute center of attention. One of Leos most noted traits is too much pride, leading to pomposity and snobbery. The other noted negative trait is being far too touchy, touchy about everything. When Leos pride and feelings are hurt the temperature drops, they become very touchy and retire to their throne.

The bright side

Thinking with their mouths, tactlessness and boastfulness tend to upset others, unfortunately Sagittarius possesses all of these traits. One of Sagittarius great difficulties lies within relationships. They are completely able to be faithful to two people at once. Bored Sagittarians are a danger to themselves and others. Libra is a sign that values peace at all costs, and is very fair minded. People like being around Librans, for in the event of a dispute they will seek a compromise. A word of caution on this compromise though, for things may not be what they seem, Librans can if they wish charm the birds from the trees!

The dark side
Oh the indecisiveness is famous! Librans either sit on the fence, (attempting to appear pleasing to all parties), or they swing wildly from one side of the argument to the other, (and not necessarily dependent on who they are talking to!)
This is not the most reliable of signs, either in what they should do, or in maintaining any particular view point. They are often accused of being two faced. Beneath that charming exterior it is less well known, and stealthily concealed that they are very self centered, and insist on getting their own way, (whatever that is today).

the Airy Aquarius Character

Aquarius THE WATER BEARER is the sign of the thinker
Aquarians are extremely independent, they just will not be tied down for long. Their firm views and opinions can change to stubbornness if they are pushed into a corner. Nevertheless they are very faithful and supportive in the right relationship. Even though they may get thoroughly involved within a relationship Aquarians need to preserve their privacy and independence.

The bright side
Aquarians are usually lively, inventive and oh so original! Sailing in the opposite direction to the crowd comes naturally to Aquarius, in fact this does not worry them, as they are always out of step with the world because they think ahead of their time and revel in anything different. As Aquarius thinks today. so the world will think tomorrow. Aquarius is the most happily eccentric sign in the zodiac. Although it can be very difficult to get close to an Aquarian, this fixed sign is loyal and faithful.

However please note that a helpful Aquarian is very averse to being deliberately used. And I agree with you and Alex, Mitch, that Julia is definitely not a Fire sign. I see lots of earthy qualities to her, actually. I really do. But I have to think about it more.

Though I think we can all agree Julia was a wonderful mother, I still think she was a very strong women, and therefore not the mother hen type (not sure about the word here, but I hope you get my point). You could tell she loved their kids and they loved her, but that she had lots of authority too. And no matter what, she had to be able to handle Andy so that shows strength of character too. It almost could be perceived as blunt/coldness.
I would think she was an earth sign, definitely not fire.

I think she was also very down to earth, practical, efficient. Look at how she handles the Stephanie situation, getting the info, going to the restaurant with Ephram. You could tell she handled so much in the house too, and was very organized. She was smart, strong, independant.

those are my thoughts. I let the experts think about which sign fits.

I entirely agree with you. I felt Earth sign, too, and obviously so does Erin from what you said above. Great thoughts!

Capricorns are loyal, dedicated to the family, too. Their family is their world in many ways and they fight tooth and nail if anyone insults one their family members, they help family members, there is nothing they won't do for family.

You are so perceptive on Julia being a wonderful mother and also holding a lot of power and strength at the same time. Lets be frank, someone who could handle at the time very arrogant Andy deserves an award. LOL. Granted, they ended up having marital problems but overall before this she held the family together and never once did she stop being a terrific mother to Ephram and Delia at any time. She was an outstanding mother to them, and a wife for Andy who was anything but passive, she had strength and was extremely independent at the same time. She could do it all.

I completely agree with your assessment. I am not sure if she's totally Capricorn but I don't feel she is a Taurus although she could be Virgo. I am juggling either Capricorn or Virgo at the moment.

You described an Earth signed woman perfectly.

The love is there in buckets but there is also a sense of strength beyond comprehension. Very Earthy. I am convinced, Julia is an Earth sign. I agree with you guys. It was my first impression for sure which is why I posted what I did last night.

More clues to her being an Earth sign. She handled that situation with Ephram with ease, in an Earthy, systematic manner. Absolutely.

That's right and if you look at Earth sign parents, mothers in particular, they are completely outstanding at being there for their children, taking care of ALL of their needs effortlessly, in a smooth manner, and they have much love for them at the same time. Ephram and Delia felt a sense of comfort and that is another Earth sign quality. You feel a loyalty and that is your trademark, Michelle, and I'm sure Alex agrees, hee. Not in a weak passive way, they just are "all in" and you feel that and know it.

I really think Julia is a Capricorn. I am convinced. Even over Virgo because Virgos are much too serious sometimes. They get uptight even if they are strong. They aren't able to DO IT ALL like the Capricorn. Not so much even if Caps and Virgos are very alike. The Capricorn IS the strongest sign in the Zodiac. I think this fits Julia perfectly. We didn't get to see Julia's Capricorn wit since she wasn't on the screen enough but I would say how she helped Ephram with Gwen Stefani, hee, in season 1 is pretty Capricorn with the wit and loyalty, being so helpful and caring.

I am with Michelle & Alex that Julia is an Earth sign and I will even go a step further and say my vote is Julia is a Capricorn.

Well, you should know best about this and so another great example of why Julia screams Capricorn.

Is she like a Super Mom? Always there for them but working out of the home, being able to do everything efficiently and timely, caring for everyones needs? That makes sense.

Yes, Julia does have many of the Capricorn traits. But...she doesn't have all them. I don't see Julia as being shy and reserved. She is very sociable and confident.
I also do not see her as a holder of grudges. She could have easily been totally and eternally upset with Andy because of his neglect of her and her kids. But....instead...she would defend him...especially to Ephram when he ranted and complained about his dad. She appeared to be very forgiving....unless it was all an act for Ephram's benefit.

I feel she did that with Ephram because it's all about the family first, That is pure Capricorn. Loyalty to FAMILY. She even defended Andy, you said it and certainly she doesn't want her children to separate from their father.

She internally held a grudge for Andy. She even cheated. That was her internal holding of a grudge. She didn't divorce because Caps don't want or like divorce but her holding the grudge was the cheating part.

I'm not sure if we can say what her exact personality is out and about because we didn't see her with friends really. We only saw her with family. So we don't know how she was around strangers, really, so I think it's premature to say she is not shy or reserved around people other than family.

Capricorns are also magnets. People surround them because, that's just how it is. So Capricorns can SEEM social but deep inside they need some space. I remember reading right on this thread about how Fire signs demand attention but it's the Capricorn who is surrounded by attention without even wanting it, certainly not needing it, necessarily.

Just my two cents.

We might be at a standstill here because I strongly believe she's an Earth Sign Capricorn and it seems Mitch and Alex do too. Betty doesn't.

I guess we need more opinions then.

ETA: Capricorns are also very confident people. Just because they have a tendency to pull in and want to be reserved doesn't mean they are not confident with who they are and what they are about, what they do.

Yes, yes and more yes. She is Super Mom, she is always there for them, she runs on about 3-4 hours of sleep a night, she has a full-time job, she does everything efficiently and perfectly. She cares for them, her loyalty is in excess, she can do it all and has this tremendous strength that never ends, which is why she's definitely my idol.

So yes, she is the textbook definition of Capricorn, my sister. Definitely. Which makes sense because that's her Sun sign, heh. Alex is totally right on.
