Okay, I've finally gotten started. I've ran into a problem though... There's a word I can't figure out.

Hannah: Who was Pavlov?
Bright: Pavlov... Ah, dog dude!
[Hannah slaps Bright's hand]
Bright: Hey, why did you hit me?!
Hannah: 'Cos you haven't earned your *????* yet. You're taking this final in less than 24 hours, and I seriously doubt that your professor's going to accept "dog dude" as an answer.

And

Bright: Ivan Pavlov. Behavioural psychologist, came up with the idea for conditioned reflex, born in 1849...
Hannah: Died..?
Bright: Died in 1936...
Hannah: Yes!
Bright: *????* me!

I think it might be the same word. Any help? It seems to be a food item or something...

Can you make a clip? Maybe it'd help if we could hear it

Normally I could have, but for some reason my video editing program doesn't like this Everwood episode... It can't play the audio part!

It looks like I'll have to wait for someone who have the episodes themselves, but thanks anyway

BTW, it's episode 4x09 I'm talking about, and it's the first scene after the intro.

Matty, it was "tot". Even the closed captionings said so.

Hannah: 'Cos you haven't earned your tot yet. You're taking this final in less than 24 hours, and I seriously doubt that your professor's going to accept "dog dude" as an answer

Bright: Tot me!

I believe that's when the words are shown at the bottom of the screen for the hearing impaired.

Aha, that makes sense. Well, I'm learning a lot tonight!

I know what a tot is. And closed captionings.

Since everyone is sharing knowledge tonight, what are the correct lottery numbers for tomorrow? The Norwegian lottery that is...

Oh, and while we're on the subject of knowledge... I usually love Wikipedia, but sometimes it takes me som strange places. For some reason I've been reading this for the last 10 minutes: The mullet in various languages and cultures

Seriously...

Oh my goodness! What a great site!
I guess I should love mullets, because of the soccer players.
Come to think of it, David Becham used to have a mullet (before he shaved his head!)
Rod Stewart has a mullet! He used to play soccer.

Tos must love mullets because it's called Hockey head!
I just love the skull mullet.

Matty, you need to send that post to the Greg thread.

4 8 11 15 23 25 31 There you go!

ETA: By the way, I love the idea of this thread! I might try to transcribe an episode, too, in summer break.

The lottery number is 4 8 15 16 23 42 -- Yeah, that's it. (Lost reference )

That's probably becuz it doesn't exist in your country. It is similar to the subtitles expect that it has a black "box" under the words. Hard of hearing and deaf people in America call it "closed captionings". Here is a picture:

Transcript

I will get started on mine shortly.

As a matter of fact, almost all subtitles in Norway are inside a black/gray box, I've just never heard those two words together before

I've got another problem. Look at this:

Jake: I wanted to go to a meeting this morning, but the closest one is over an hour from here, and I've got an office full of patients right now, so I'm gonna go tonight.
Brian: Look, Jake...
Jake: That's why I'm calling, Brian. And, and I know how it sounds, but trust me, it's just a fluke. They always talk about how a slip is a huge part of recovery, and I've been sober for over a year now...
Brian: Save the Betty Ford speech man, 'cos I've got three words for you: *VIDEO ERROR*

My video skips ahead a couple of seconds. I'm guessing everyone has the same version as well, so I don't have much hope getting this mystery solved.

Yes, it's "Robert Downey Jr".

That's awesome. I know there must be some kind of subtitles in Norway but I always thought it is like white ones without a box. Some DVDs in America doesn't operate the closed captionings - only subtitles, which I really hate becuz it may be very difficult to read, especially at its breakneck speed.

Alex, I will take "Ghosts" and "You are a good man, Andy Brown". Well, yeah, I have no life...at least not until June 9th.
