What was this project about (this is the text written on the thankful book back cover) :

"I made a promise. To your mother. Years ago, we were talking once about what I would do if anything ever happened to her. I didn't want to hear it but she wouldn't let up. She started telling me about some town she got stuck in on a train trip with her parents when she was a girl. A town called Everwood. She said it was the most beautiful place that she'd ever seen and if anything ever happened to her, I should go there. I don't know if she really meant it. I don't even know if I remember the conversation very well. But if she did mean it, even a little, I had to do it. I broke enough promises to her while she was still alive. It was the only promise that I could still keep."
(Dr. Brown, 1x22 "Home")

Four years ago, we all decided to tune in for a show called Everwood and witnessed the decision Dr. Brown made to uproot his family to a town called 'Everwood'. We all fell in love with every character, with the magical atmosphere of this little town. We followed them on the path of growth and self exploration. We felt for them whenever they endured pain and loss, and most of all, we loved the show and our heart connected with it beyond words.

Four years later, I'm writing these words with a heavy heart as the show was just canceled. But I couldn't possibly let the show go without a proper goodbye and this is what this book is about.

Like Julia Brown's tradition for Thankgiving, I decided to gather letters from fans all over the world explaining what the show meant to them and what they were thankful for.

206 Letters. 206 devoted fans who loved the show enough to thank you all, the cast and crew of this amazing show. 206 thankful letter to a show we'll all regret and miss.

Everwood was a plain marvel and we hope that with this book, you'll all remember how much it meant to us.

Who received the book ?
A printing version has been sent to :
Greg Berlanti
Treat Williams
Gregory Smith
Emily VanCamp
and Tom Amandes.

A computer version has been sent to Vivien Cardone and Debra Mooney by email.

Money limitations prevent us from sending it to more people. However, I'll try to get other cast members as well as crew members toat least get a computer version. I have some contacts although I don't know how everything will work at the moment.

Okay, I created a new thread with updated info, please read the new stuff.
I added some pics and the text of the back cover.

Now, let me give you a little bit of news : :)

I wasn't giving news yesterday because I was busy finishing every little detail about the book. There was still lots of littles things to add before the actual printing.

I went to the printing company today. Everything went well after I spend one hour explaining to the guy what I needed and wanted. He gave me some exemples prints and they look good. I'm actually think of framing them and putting them into my room as a reminder of this projet

So seriously, The printing is finally ordered. I can breathe. :) I'm picking up the copies at the end of the week, probably Thursday or Friday during my lunch break. I hope to be there in time since it's 45 min away from my job so I'll have to hurry. But I think it'll work out.
The plan is then to post everything Saturday morning(19th August) as it is the only time of the week I can go to the post office.

The only thing left to do is writing the letters accompagning the book which I'll do this week. :)

Donation wise, we were perfect. I removed the donation link from the first post since we got what we needed, a few dollars more or less. :)
Turns out some options I chose weren't possible or available so i got a cheaper price. But the book will still look good. :)
The final count was $312.64 and $25 pending donation I should get this week.

The book and every pages will be posted in its own time. I'll wait for every person to receive the book properly before I put everything online.
I'm sorry if you'll have to wait a little more for this but I've been devoting around 3 hours per day to this project for the past 2 month, I need to take a little break right now. I will post everything on the website after.
I may post some examples and pages once in a while but the final version will be posted later.

Until then, if you'd like to know on which page you are or what's the quote from your page, I could tell you :)

if you have any other question, please ask away :)

Thank you to everyone on this board for your support  !!!

ALEXX!!!! OH. My. God! :jaw_drop: This project has gone beyond my wildest thoughts, and has impressed me so much, it's amazing how this project started as simply an idea you came up with and pitched... Now it's so close to being a reality, it's so awesome!

The work, and hours you've put into this book I don't think anyone will really be able to understand. We've been told and I'm sure thought of the amount of time you've given to this project, but none of us have really experienced all that you've done. You weren't getting paid for doing this, you did it because you wanted to, and that alone is so wonderful!

The pages look amazing, Alex. They really do. The cover and back designs are so beautiful and creative... the individual pages are equally impressive and beautiful.

Amazing job, Alex. Amazing. :D

Oh my God, I'm not here for a couple days and so much to read. What great News.
Alex, I'm so proud of you. You've done it. You did an amazing Job. I still can't believe that it's really reality. Incredible.

It was a simple Idea and now, see what has happened! Incredible! You are just amazing.

Jerry D 08-15-2006 05:58 PM

Congratulations, Alex, and bravo! You did a wonderful job, and thanks so much for the effort and love that you put into this project.

Alex, this is absolutely STUNNING. I am so incredibly impressed!!!

Genius idea to use the "Home" quote for the back of the book! It sums everything up so beautiful. God, I loved the writing on this show.

Also, just wanted to let everyone know that even though he's not being sent his own printed copy, Chris Pratt will be seeing the Thankful Book. I'm getting the book to Emily, and the two see each other so often, I'm sure she'll show it to him.

I know I mentionned this in an email, Alex, but you'll just have to wait to send the Thankful Book to me for a few days. I can't receive mail until the 27th, and I don't know what'll happen if something arrives for me before then!! I don't know how long the book'll take to get here, but I figure if you send it around the 23rd or the 24th, I should be able to receive it no problem. I'm sorry that it has to wait a few days, but there's really nothing else I can do. I'm also going to be calling Emily's mom in the next couple of days. I haven't actually mentionned this to her yet (she knows I love the show, but I don't think she knows I post on any Everwood forums. So I'm trying to come up with the best way to say "So a huge group of fans put together this book, and can you help me make sure it gets to Em safe and sound?" ) but I'll figure something out and call her up. And Alex, as soon as I'm 100% positive on my new address, I'll email it to you.

Again, this book is going to look FANTASTIC and I am AMAZED BEYOND BELIEF. And you should definitely frame some of those things to keep. :D

Thanks you all for everything you said. It really means a great deal to me and your support is more than appreciated. You words goes directly to my heart. Thank you. :group_hug:

I have many things to say and I will post more once the project is officialy over, I still need to figure out some stuff but I sill wanted to thank you for your kind words now.

Janelle> Don't worry, I won't send the Emily book on Saturday since it's too soon. I'm gonna take it with me when I go to Paris next week and probably post it from there since it'd be around the 25 or 26th of August. I think it takes 4 to 7 days to get to the US so that should be fine.
 about Emily's mom. I simply suggest that you tell her the truth, and show that we're not crazy fanatic groupie fans trying to send stupid stuff to Emily  but just wanna make sure our thankfulness will reach her.

Guys, do you think the actors knows about the book ? I mean, I know Berlanti does but it's no Ferris Wheel, I don't know if actors know about it. IN a way, ti's cool cause it'd be a surprise. :)

I also think I'm gonna join a computer version of the book to Berlanti's package so maybe, he'd be able to transmit it to lots of Everwood crews that we cannot reach. Like Rina, the amazing writers, Cast we couldn't sent it to ?
What do you think ?

Awesome idea, Alex. I'm totally down with it. :)

i just want to thank you so much for what you have done! the thankful book is so awsome. the idea of it is great. it's simply ...an everwood thing :) you know what i mean? this is exactly what it deserves! i'm so thankful for you putting so much effort in it. what i've seen up to now is simply amazing! i wish i could have helped more ...
thank you  im looking forward to see the whole computer version of the book
:D
oh and before i forget to say this i love the way you write. it's like you always find the right words to express what you feel. i mean the letter to dawn ostroff on your page and the text written on the thankful book back cover... love it :)

buffyannAlex 08-16-2006 08:16 AM

Mitchy, Jerry> :) Thanks for the encouragement. I think we have a better chance to reach everyone by Berlanti directly than if I try to get some email adresses myself.
I will also email Berlanti's assistant personnaly to tell him that the book is on his way so he can receive the package properly. I plan to maybe ask him to transmit a message for me to all the Everwood cast & crew he can contact to inform them of the book. It's worth a try. I'll see what he says. He was very helpful before but I don't wanna ask him too much. :)

 Thank you it means a lot. Though part of the credit goes to Michelle who always proofread after me and to Summer's writing talent that influenced and inspired me.

and, taquita, Welcome to the board :) you should introduce yourself in the Introduction Thread. :)

You're welcome and all of this sounds perfect. In fact, I just sit back and watch you in action because you are so in tune with this entire process and you are just brilliant at completing all of this, I don't even want to get in your way unless you ask me to. I love to sit back and be in awe of what you are doing. I'm seriously just astounded over everything you have done, Alex. It blows me away. :)

Aww, I don't deserve any credit. I was happy to proofread. It was a pleasure helping you out. But what little I did doesn't come close to what you have done and accomplished.

Heh. It doesn't surprise me that you would take out the time to do this as well, Alex. Always so nice and so willing to reach out and help. You're amazing.

And yes, taquita, please come and introduce yourself. :)

I don't think they know about it, no. And yes, I think it will be a totally amazing surprise :)
