Everwood Series Discussion & General Rewatch Thread #5: If Everwood aired today, would any storylines have to change?

Everwood Series Discussion and General Rewatch Thread

Welcome to the Everwood discussion thread! We were talking as mods and diehards of the show, and we're very interested in getting more discussion flowing on this board that pertains directly to the show.

The point of this thread is to have as many people contribute to discussion as possible. Part of the reason we're doing this is to keep the post counts up, but a much bigger reason is that we'll always know we have something Everwood-related to discuss, even though it's no longer on the air.

This thread is also about watching Everwood. Whatever episode and/or season you are currently watching, come on over and share your thoughts! Depending on who is presently watching, we can talk about several episodes at a time, anything goes.

Post your thoughts on the episodes and we can discuss!

Rules:

1. Anyone is most welcome to join at any time. The more the merrier!

2. Please help us come up with good discussion questions.

3. This thread is generally a free-flowing discussion where we determine when we change discussion questions based how how the discussion is going.

4. This board has always been mature. This board is so unique and the maturity level is one of many reasons why. With that said, let's keep the discussions/debates going in a healthy manner. Of course we are not always going to agree but that is the beauty of why our discussions are unique... to be able to receive as many point of views and thoughts as possible on Everwood. Let's continue to keep it mature and healthy just like our norm as we debate/discuss our fabulous show.

Like Ephram's sister Delia my sisters weren't traumatized by the move like I was, and to this day, they don't look back on on time in New York as nostalgically as I do. I can remember feeling like a loner like Ephram did and trying to fit in but not being able to, although I did try to fit in more than Ephram did, as Ephram seemed to revel in his outsider status.

How old were you when your family moved to NJ?

1. I share the being popular in high school yet not loving or caring about the popularity and pulling within (introversion) quite a bit. While Amy had dance, I had soccer and basketball. But like Amy who used dance as a way to still pull inward while doing something she loved, I was the same with soccer and basketball. Of course playing soccer and basketball required that I participate in team sports so I was around my teammates and performed for fans. Still, when I played, I was in my own world and could still be introverted while doing something I loved.

2. Losing someone you love and having depression/anxiety linger for some time as a result. While I watched Everwood live I never realized I would relate to Amy later on after my mom passed. I didn't and haven't suffered from depression as severely as she did, but even in the present I constantly battle anxiety/depression as a result of a loss that has forever changed me.

3. Amy was always attracted to the Ephram's and Hannah's and that's how I've always been as well. Even in high school, I had the popular group, sports group (both groups overlapped) but I also had my side group of Ephram/Hannah types I spent time with. I remember thinking there was no way I was going to be prevented from hanging out with who I wanted to hang out with and it didn't matter what "label" high school decided to stupidly give them. So I definitely can relate to Amy in this way as well.

I think that it's wonderful that you befriended people who weren't in the popular crowd even though you were in the popular crowd, and it shows what type of person you are. That's rare, especially in the High School years, so you should be commended for it.

I found this on youtube and it's, I gather, a fan-made video if Everwood were to have a return series

Thanks!

RIP Stephanie Niznik aka Nina.

The music give me my usual chills. That classic, emotional, music is just so... powerful.

Madison featured so much is the only thing that bothers me in an angered way. LOL. I don't believe she'd ever return if the show was rebooted because the baby storyline way back in the day was used to cause issues for the mains, not to feature Madison or be a long-term storyline. Thankfully!

I could totally see a scenario of Bright/Hannah, will they/won't they. They were left up in the air and it would go without saying if anything Everwood-related returned to the screen and they could get Chris Pratt, he would be highly featured.

The character I most relate to is Rose. I am a mom and a nurturer and loving.. and I feel that I multitasked (before retirement) just like she does....Work and raising a family. Plus....we had some great dinners!

I relate to Amy the least. I was not a type A personality...not in the in crowd. I was in the middle crowd with a nice group of friends, and I was nothing like Amy. I wasn't gorgeous and super popular like Amy and I couldn't imagine hanging out with people like those friends of hers in high school.

LOL. Yeah. I WAS Amy but at least my "popular" group was nothing like hers.
