Everwood Reboot/Revival Discussion Thread
Hey everyone! I figured this bit of news deserved its own thread. Quote:

What amazing news even it's still speculation. Thoughts? If it happens, how would you want it constructed? Last edited by jediwands; 07-31-2019 at 03:27 AM |

I'd like to see a reunion movie. He's right that schedules are crazy, especially for Chris Pratt, but the love of the project seems to be there, so I could see it happening. I'd definitely watch if it did happen.
Question, would you want a reunion if only part of the people came back? Like, if there was no Bright or no Andy or whoever? Would you watch a reboot? I don't think I would. I can't imagine them catching lightning in a bottle twice. __________________

Yes, the first thing I thought of was Chris. I have no doubt Chris would be willing to participate but his schedule will be tricky. Emily also has The Resident and I think it's moving to Fall so she's going to be a bit busy too. Treat has Chesapeake Shores but that schedule is very different and more open for sure thankfully. I am not sure about the others. Very good question about the reunion with only part of the cast or not... I am not sure what to think. Well, I probably would, lol, IF the writing was there and I believe it would be. Like, I wouldn't want to find out Andy died or something. But Bright could be out of state or out of the country doing something. Andy, it would be a little more difficult though. I would be open to a movie or a season 5 depending on the construction. I have too much faith in Berlanti but then again you're right, Alan... Everwood was so perfect... would we risk the reboot not living up to our expectations? You make a good point. |

Great topic Michelle.
To be honest, I’d have mixed feelings about Everwood coming back. Part of me would absolutely love it because it was by far the greatest television show that I’ve ever watched in my life, but it aired at a certain point in time and it featured a group of actors who were either just starting out or who were well established and putting their talent into a truly unique show, and it might be hard to recapture that magic. Chris Pratt is a major star now so I couldn’t see him being involved with an Everwood reboot unless he played a small cameo role like Melissa McCarthy did with the reboot of Gilmore Girls, and I’m not sure how available some of the other actors would be. With that being said however, I’d love to see this cast, or the majority of this cast, work together again because they played off each other so well and there were so many stories left to tell on Everwood, so if an Everwood reboot ever came to fruition, I would definitely tune in. __________________

I feel like Emily, Greg, Treat, and Tom are the core four and any reunion/reboot/revival has to run through them. If any of those four were severely restricted as far as availability then it would be tough to make it work. Like I said, I have all the faith in the world in Greg Berlanti. I can’t see him moving forward with this unless it’s high quality. Everwood is a part of his heart. He would proceed with great attention to detail and care. |

If the actress who played Rose, Merrilyn Gann, wasn't available, another storyline would involve Harold being a widower trying to raise that girl they adopted, (they could say that Rose's cancer came back and she passed away from it) and it could mirror what Andy went through when he was a widower raising two children. What was good about this show is that it gave equal time to the adults and the teenagers, so there are still a lot of stories that could be explored with all of the characters being older than when we last saw them. Yes, I think after the core four then we're talking Rose, Nina, Edna, Bright, and Delia. It would be fantastic if they were all available but I think there's room to work without one or two of them as well. Quote:

Berlanti misses Everwood and there's no doubt his heart never left the show. He would put his heart and soul into a revival or reboot, I have no doubt. |

Here is an interesting take:
PS: I love how the article included the famous Ephram/Amy Ferris Wheel scene : Quote:

Now do I think that it's possible? I am not sure. Greg is into directing these days, Emily has her own show, Chris is busy doing movies. I see the movie option more feasible than show revival to be honest. Unless they do something similar to what Gilmore Girls did - just few episodes to show us how the story progressed for those characters that we grew to love. __________________

That article did bring up some valid points, especially about Everwood being of a certain time and place, but I still feel that it could work. To be sure, some of the cast members may not come back, but if the key members of the cast came back, it could work.
Thanks for posting the article Michelle and thanks for posting two of the comments in response to that article. __________________
