| Everwood Music Hi Everyone, To answer a few of the board questions: - No I was not with EverwoodMusic.com though it was a great site. - As far as Ephram's piano pieces, I still have yet to be able to determine whether they are actual Classical pieces played on piano or score by Blake Neely. I think it's a combination of both. I have a friend who works as a Music Director at a Classical Radio Station that I could forward him the audio clips if need be. I'm still heavily researching the replacements and other music that was not identified. Please email me or send me a private message if you have any questions. I'll post more updates as I have them. | Supreme Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the answers. I wanted to bump this post of Chuck's up, becuase someone linked to it on the IMDB Everwood boards as a useful tool, and I hadn't been looking at it since it was first posted, and it's been updated lots for anyone interested in what's in or isn't. I don't know if that's complete or not, let us know Chuck, but when it is, we could format it a bit to make the songs that are still remaining a bit clearer to make it an even more useful tool? ![]() Quote:

| I'd like to file a complaint! I just watched Staking Claim from season 3 on thewb.com and the replacement song during E/A's "I love you" scene is horrible! They need to find a way to get the original back cuz I just listened to it and the song is sooo purty. So...that's all. ![]() Belated thanks to cfs and EWMusicJunkie for making a season 2 music list. __________________ Watch Privileged on The CW at 9/8c Tuesdays "...the closest thing to Gilmore Girls since it left the air." | |||

So far....the song at the end of "3x03 Staking Claim" is "To The Country" by Aron Wright. The replacement at the end of "3x04 The Birds and The Batteries" is "Heaven on Earth" by David Grossman. I love that song personally. It's taking me awhile to do this guide because I don't know of any other way to watch Season 3 with the replacement stuff besides WB.com which only posts 3 new episodes a week. Sometimes DailyMotion has them but not all of them (thanks to cfs89 for that tip.) Hopefully i'll have more updates soon. Last edited by EWMusicJunkie : 07-22-2009 at 06:19 AM. | Just a quick mention for The Reflex. They changed the Faultline song to something else, but I really liked whatever replaced it. The new song is very strummy...more violin-y, I guess, as opposed to the tinkly piano they originally used. I give it a thumbs up! ![]() __________________ Watch Privileged on The CW at 9/8c Tuesdays "...the closest thing to Gilmore Girls since it left the air."

Haven't finished ID'ing the songs from "Need To Know" yet. I know they did replace the Louis Armstrong song but left Bing Crosby in there. I think there are 2 other random songs thrown in there as background as well as a piano version of Deck The Halls. No music was ever used "Complex Guilt". That episode is like a day off...lol. More updates soon.

| Still working on the list,as I am up to ep9. I know that in S2 Ep5,the song playing in the background during a scene with Andy and Linda was replaced on the DVD. I wasn't sure what the song was,so if the songs listed here are in the order played in the episode,I assumed it was Joseph Arthur - "You've Been Loved" - Redemption's Son. If it wasn't let me know. | Supreme Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for doing all of this, Chuck. I just want to repeat how happy I am that "Ooh, Child" made it on the set. Edna crying is a guaranteed emotional breakdown from me as is, but you add that song on top? Ohhh, it's not pretty. ![]() __________________ “[People] talk to me about these characters as if they’re real, and they’re not real, but they’ve become real...I really think, shows like this one, you have an attachment to them. | Hey everyone thanks for welcoming me to these forums. I just wanted to send a few posts on this music thread because it was how I found this site and why I wanted to join. I think the background music is a vital part of any scene. My music collection is full of music I heard while watching shows and movies and I love it when I listen to one of those songs I can see the scene in my mind. I wanted to comment on the whole DVD vs. original aired music since I never saw Everwood during its original run. I am so thrilled to see other people trying to identify the music from the DVD's and appreciate all the work being put into that endevor. I have to say, overall, I think the DVD music is pretty good and when I see what was originally used I even think some of the replacement music is better, or at least changes the tone of the scene some. Here is a perfect example- From No Sure Thing – final scene of the episode ended with The Counting Crows song “Anna Begins”. Now this is a great song but I think the replacement is better and actually changes the mood of the scene. Here is an excerpt from the transcript (and thanks to those who spent their time doing the transcripts); we are where Madison has tried a couple times to find “their song” on the radio. EPHRAM: Give up. MADISON: Never. Madison barely gets the station changed to "Anna Begins" by The Counting Crows, when Ephram pulls her face to him and kisses her. They start breathing hard and fast. Ephram's hand goes up Madison's shirt and then brings his hand up to caress her face. Madison undoes his belt continuing to kiss him. They maneuver to let Madison get below Ephram in the front seat so they could lie down. cut to View from outside the back window of the car. Ephram is slowly laying Madison down in the front seat. LYRICS: And every word is nonsense but I understand and / Oh lord, I'm not ready for this sort of thing / Her kindness bangs a gong / It's moving me along and Anna begins to fade away / It's chasing me away She disappears and / Oh lord, I'm not ready for this sort of thing This makes the scene feel that it is much more about how they (or perhaps Ephram) “are not ready for this” and puts much more foreboding on the relationship. I think it puts the emphasis on the age issue in the relationship. Now look at the same scene with the DVD music. LYRICS: It’s not gonna matter this time / Say you love me / Say you want me / Say you’re never ever gonna leave me / What can I do what can I say / How can I live my life this way I like this selection much better. The tone of the scene feels more intimate. I think there is still and obvious mood created but it shifts the emphasis from Ephram’s inexperience to more of an honest yearning for the relationship not to end. I think this music still conveys the idea of a younger lover’s insecurity with a more mature partner but the true core of the emotion is one person feeling some insecurity in what they perceive as an inequality on their side of the relationship. Of course, this music still works in foreshadowing the fact that we are watching a relationship that is probably not going to work out. Also, I have tried to find this song by searching the lyrics with multiple search engines. Anybody have any idea what it is? __________________ I prefer my drama be SCRIPTED! | |||

| Supreme Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dude. Great post. Hee. I don't think you have to be told that, but it really was a great read. Very cool comparison between the music used in the car scene (which I was just watching yesterday) on the DVD and originally. I hadn't actually really noticed, but the change actually does add more to the scene than originally intended. I hope that the person Berlanti hired to look over the music change had something to do with that, but if Warner did it, it definitely looks as though they're putting even more effort than we've noticed into the music substitution. Quote:
It appears that many of the songs exclusive to the DVD were recorded just for the DVD, meaning that the songs won't be available elsewhere. ![]() __________________ “[People] talk to me about these characters as if they’re real, and they’re not real, but they’ve become real...I really think, shows like this one, you have an attachment to them. | Hi Everyone, sorry i haven't been on the boards lately. i'm currently on Season 4 and the amount of songs used that were never identified is shocking. I just got through episode 4x09 Getting To Know You and there are 11 songs in the episode. A lot of them are played in the background but it's amazing how there was this much music and all of the official music guides only listed 3. i'm working on a huge music guide and update as well. I may have a lead on that song with the say you love me lyrics that JasonJDF asked about....and yes that was a great post! EW
