Posted on previous thread.

This is scary.

Let's think of the facts:

1. Trump's cult has a history of reacting with violence/threats.
2. Trump specifically called out Detroit and Philly in his speech. Everyone knows it was a sick, racist dig.
3. His creature of a son on Twitter called the present situation: War.

... and now we're talking bomb threats/violence.

We all know how this was all set into motion.

This election needs to officially be awarded to Biden/Harris. Hopefully Pennsylvania finishes up their counting in the next few/several hours so the election will be officially awarded to Biden/Harris.

I pray everyone in Philadelphia and anywhere else, especially those wonderful American people who are counting the votes, are all safe and sound.

Thanks for the new thread Michelle.

I hope that the election is called soon because I agree with you that Trump is inciting a dangerous situation due to his inability to accept defeat.

What mystifies and saddens me is that even though it appears that Biden will win the fact that Trump came close to winning again is something I truly don't understand. I guess enough people either voted strictly due to party loyalty, or worse yet, loyalty to Trump. I think that he also was able to instill fear that this country will become a Socialist country under Biden and Harris. Biden and Harris won as the representatives of the Democratic Party, not the Socialist Party or Communist Party, and besides that, if Biden and Harris wanted to introduce "radical" legislation, it won't get through Congress, which still as a sizable Republican minority in the House of Representatives and a majority in the Senate.

To be honest, I don't see a lot of change happening with Biden as President except that we won't have a narcissistic, racist, and misogynistic egomaniac in that office anymore, which has to be good for the country and our standing in the world. I do think that McConnell will do everything he can to block any initiative that they take, just like he did with Obama.

I never expected much. I just think emboldened racists to attack people and with him gone we will just go back to systemic racism. This country is what it is.

I wonder if any state will finalize its votes today?

I don’t think so. Next week is more likely.

Good thoughts.

For the first time in four years I feel like I can finally breathe again. The orange monster will be out soon. Thankfully I live in an extremely liberal state that never votes Republican. LOL. But I'm just so happy my mom's home state of Pennsylvania officially is getting Trump the hell out of office.

More Americans voted against Trump in history of US voting. The popular vote for Biden is the largest in history. Americans made sure he wouldn't get reelected. I'm very proud of my country.

My country can finally start to heal again and the world in general will be a much better place.

As far is significant changes... what keeps popping into my mind is just healing. This country just needs to heal and then the focus on changes after that. How nice will it be knowing that Americans won't have to deal with health insurance being taken away from them? Or other threats that Trump was wanting to pass without even blinking? No more! That, in itself, is going to be so refreshing. What about just how the world views us? Finally, we won't be laughed at, at least for this. What a wonderful feeling this will be. Biden/Harris will reconnect with our allies around the world (Canada, UK especially).

I don’t think healing will start until people get their head out of the sand and blaming trump for a festering disease that was and still will be there post election. When people break down white fragility and accept the treatment of Black and Briwn people in this country then healing can begin. Trumps d his cult was an easy scapegoat. There is a lot of work still to be done. Let’s hope it can happen but I am sceptical. This election should never have been this close but it was and I remain unsurprised.

I am not sure about Pennsylvania. On CNN they said in a few hours every vote will be counted but I don't know what precisely that means. I do think at the very least the major new networks will announce Biden/Harris won Pennsylvania. But CNN also said of course the orange monster is not going to concede the election today.

I totally hear you. When I was talking about healing I meant healing from a horrible leader in Trump for four years. Healing in the sense that we don't have to deal with him anymore and the darkness will be gone. Trump ignited and worsened racism (which has always existed) and all of the other bad things that exist. Removing him will allow everyone to get their heads and hearts straight again and the real work can get started.

In a strange way the American people for four years have been abuse victims. Spiritually, he sucked the life out of so many. My sister hardly ever cries and she was sobbing today because Trump will finally stop leading this country and damaging so many. She didn't want her children to have to endure him for four more years. It's just such a big deal that finally he's going to be removed.

But yes, real change needs to happen. It won't happen overnight but we stand a much better chance under this new leadership.

When I think about Kamala Harris becoming the first the woman of color vice president I instantly get tears in my eyes. It is so beautiful. I cannot wait to hear her speak tonight!

So I guess we'll still be in a limbo-like state for a few more days.
