Sadly, though, the classic definition of a Democrat has changed. The classic definition of a Republican has changed too. For example, Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican, but he believed in Conservation and he used his authority to protect wildlife and public lands by creating the United States Forest Service (USFS) and establishing 150 national forests, 51 federal bird reserves, 4 national game preserves, 5 national parks, and 18 national monuments. Compare that to The Trump administration's latest move: Last August it announced that it would change the way the Endangered Species Act is applied, significantly weakening the nation’s bedrock conservation law and making it harder to protect wildlife from the multiple threats posed by climate change.

Like I said, I consider myself somewhat middle of the road, so I'm not happy with the policies of the Democrats or the Republicans. I dread the next election like I dreaded the 2016 election.

This is very interesting. It is why I generally stay away from politics. I just know what I refuse TO vote for. That is all I need to know. I cannot stand for certain things (taking from children, seniors, trying to remove women's rights, trying to take away rights due to sexuality) and if a candidate is in the way of these things that I believe are simply being human/caring/compassionate, I cannot vote for that man or woman. It's simple math for me even if politics in general is definitely not that black and white as you perfectly illustrated.

I don't know the last time I watched a political debate or a political network. I refuse to go there. I don't have to anyway, because I know what I will do when I enter the voting booth regardless.

Oh, I definitely know what you mean. I think that if Joe Biden had run and gotten the nomination in 2016 instead of Hillary Clinton, he would have beaten Trump, but now I'm not sure if he'll be able to beat Trump this time around. It still blows me away that Trump is the President of the United States. He's an embarrassment and I can't stand to even look at him let alone listen to him. I don't know how anyone can support him or his policies, but many people do, and I just don't understand it.

I don't see him beating Trump. From what little I've read, it seems like he's wasting so much time right now but you can't blame him due to the state of the country. Trump will win due the virus situation. Americans consider this war, some are even calling it a spiritual war of sorts and a non-traditional World War 3 even. I think in a couple months when things settle down, and the anxiety lessens, people are enjoying freedom again, they won't want another drastic change. I hope it backfires but I really do believe Trump will win again as a result of lack of campaigning on the Democratic side. I will never understand how anyone can support him or his politics. Thankfully, I am not friends with anyone (even professionally) who goes there and that's a good thing because I couldn't even properly debate without getting really angry.

The main reason that Trump is pushing to get everyone back working prematurely is that he's afraid if the economy tanks, he won't be reelected. Trump's main bragging point up until now is that the economy was booming under him (and that's debatable) but now with record unemployment and no end in sight for a while, the outcome of the election could change, but like you said, it probably won't. One thing different too is that Trumps is basically forced to do this daily press conferences, and people can really see what a blubbering idiot he is, so that could affect some peoples' view of him.

That's true, but now everyone gets to see it on a daily basis.

This is so hilarious and dead on:
