Mark knew as much though which is why he never took Brooke/Lucas seriously. I’m sure he knew Brooke/Lucas brought down the ratings.

Kevin should be ashamed he abandoned his show.

I think what went down with Haley/Naley definitely played an big part in why the ratings dropped too,

They may have noticed it but they didn't care. All they cared about is that they "won", which they loudly proclaimed in every Pacey and Joey Thread title.

He does. Dawson’s Creek is in a different category however since it was loosely based on his life which makes it even worse. I will never understand the personal angle and still abandoning.

I don't understand it either.

This is a great title, by the way. I also think that the ratings tanked in Season Three because like you said Michelle it was an entirely different show right from the beginning with that ridiculous and borderline pornographic Eve storyline and everything else that followed.

Oh most certainly (good point) which once again reminds me of Dawson’s Creek. Dawson Creek’s main pairings were a mess just like OTHs main pairings of Lucas/Peyton and Nathan/Haley. Season 2 OTH had Lucas/Peyton apart (mostly thanks to villain Brooke and all the sht she pulled) and Nathan/Haley apart when the tour storyline transpired. When two main pairings of Leyton and Naley are broken, it’s not a good thing since the vast majority of fans support the main pairings. Seasons 2/3 were not superb for the main pairings overall and the ratings reflected fan disappointment.

You can’t build up your main pairings for one season then tear them apart and expect fans to be satisfied. To make matters worse you put together or revisit a hideous pairing in Brooke/Lucas that does nothing for the main fanbase. Same with Pacey/Joey.

Dawson’s Creek and OTH have so many parallels it’s incredible.

Right! The Eve character is proof they had no idea what they were doing, All Stupid knew is he’d sacrifice quality in order to make the series his own.
