Venus lost yesterday, Serena in trouble today (but she seems to be gaining momentum).

Both Venus and Serena have won the Major here though which proves how amazing they are. Bigger hitters don't historically win on this (boring) surface but they still found a way.

So going into this WC, what are your biggest concerns about the USWNT?

Jersey native Tommy Paul is making some noise right now against a good player. Of course Paris is cheering more for Thiem. Great match though. Nice to see some new Americans in there.

I will prefact my list with the fact that the USWNT is talent plus and depth plus. I will also say that when everyone on the team plays to their full potential no one can beat us.
But...as in life...nothing is a given.

My concerns are:

The goalie. I don't think these goalies have been really tested yet and I hope they prove their worth at the World Cup. Let's face it...it very tough to replace Hope Solo.

Our passing....it's so often superior, but I would like that final pass to be more consistent.

Our shooting....we have very talented scorers who are arguably the best in the world and I just want them to be more patient.

The bottomline is that all teams need to play their best...not just us. But...if we play our best their best won't be enough to beat us.

What are your concerns, Michelle, if any regarding the team?

Thiem got SO lucky in that third set tiebreak. Paul had him up 4-0 but got nervous as a rookie. Damn.

Very true about our goalies not being tested. Do you feel the right goalie was picked as the starter?

We choked a lot of our chances away yesterday, that is for sure. Works okay for less talented opponents but won’t work against tougher ones if it keeps happening.

I'm not sure. I actually not familiar with how each of them would handle a tough shot. We haven''t seen too much of that so far because of the types of teams we've been playing.

That’s right I forgot French tennis officials banned her outfit last year. How ridiculous. They look like fools given the backlash.
