I just listened to Sophia's commentary on 3.23. She mentioned that Lucas didn't even know Brooke. It reminded me of Sophia liking Lucas and Peyton because she understood the story.

I wonder if it’s well-known that Sophia liked them. I know it was at the time when she talked about it. She even wore a T-shirt supporting them. She supported them before her marriage crumbled but I’m sure many will probably think she only liked them because she hated Chad after her marriage blew up in smoke.
