What I don’t understand is how some people either don’t pick up on their connection or dismiss it. People have different likes. So it’s one thing to SEE what was going on with Leyton and still not get attached but to almost be shocked they were endgame from the start is perplexing to me. It’s like... have you watched their scenes? Again it’s not about taste. Like or not like, it’s 100% obvious they are the real deal and a huge threat to liking other pairings like Lucas/Brooke and Lucas/Lindsey.

Now I will say Peyton/Jake could have been the real deal. They were constructed with much more attention than those other two. They cared about each other, had nice scenes together. I didn’t like the unhealthy aspect of Peyton being this mother figure to Jenny when she needed a mother in her own life. It was strange. Still, they didn’t treat each other poorly like BL and LL. But in the end, Peyton/Jake still couldn’t hold a candle to the epic love story of Leyton. But like I said, when fans liked Peyton/Jake at least I understood why (based on the mutual respect and kindness they had for each other). I cannot say the same for Brooke/Lucas and Lucas/Lindsey. Both were doomed from the start since their stories were weak and unhealthy.

I think I liked Brulian so much in Season 6 is because they were written so much as Lucas/Peyton

Agreed. I really liked them, too. Julian was the best romantic choice for Brooke. They might not have been written perfectly in every season, but I’m glad they ended up together.

I agree with the first paragraph, not so with the second since Jeyton was always constructed pretty poorly imo.

My point is at least they were constructed as two decent people who respected and cared for each other. No one doubted if they cared for each other, they did. Peyton just wasn't in love with Jake, she was in love with Lucas and that is why they didn't work. But at least their respect and caring was real. There was lack of respect in LL and BL relationships.

I mean she did propose to Jake for the sole reason she could hide behind that because she didn't want to admit she was in love with Lucas, so in that situation on her respect for Jake was sorely lacking.
