Did you like Brooke and Julian?

I actually did. I thought he was good for her and brought the best out in her. It was the first time I found myself genuinely rooting for a brooke relationship. But, I also felt like we saw more sophia and less brooke. She had a good relationship with other women. She was fun and playful and there was a depth to her relationship with him. I even enjoyed the OTT weird storyline where she had trouble conceiving at first.

100% agreed.

When did you start liking Leyton?

It was such a strange journey. I orignally found season 2 on dvd. I was in Asia at the time. I didn't know anything about the show. I liked JP but found them overdramatic. I liked the few scenes that lucas had with peyton. I didn't hate BL, but they were just there. Then I watched season 3 and I really hated brooke. At the point, I was mostly there for peyton. It was season 3 episode 1 that made me a fan of lp. Then I found season 1 on dvd and watched it. I ended up watching season 4 in real time because I was back in north america at that point. I pretty much never went back to liking anyone else with lucas or peyton after 301.

What a story. :) I had no idea. I assumed you watched from the start. Did you ever post on the OTH board?

Yes, during season 4. I still am close with a small group of lp girls from back in the day.

Nice. I posted there a bit in season 1 then sporadically after that.

I think overtime, we saw a lot more Sophia than we did a Brooke character in later seasons. Also, Austin Nichols and Sophia were dating at the time that Brooke and Julian were dating. Oddly enough, Sophia had been burned by Chad, Brooke had been burned by Lucas. So there were a lot of similarities that Sophia could draw from with real life experiences being bought into her character when it came to the Brooke and Julian relationship.

Plus, Julian was the only one to push into Brooke and make her really feel what she was feeling. He didn't allow her to run away and hide when the feelings to too real, he challenged her in many ways she had never allowed herself to be challenged before.

Maybe I'm indifferent, but I was really mad when Brooke was able to have a baby. Not that she doesn't deserve kids. But there was an admission in Season 4 when Brooke told Mouth she couldn't have kids and that's why she never worried about getting pregnant. It was around the time that Brooke was taking the pregnancy story away from Haley so Haley had time to tell Nathan and get used to the idea of being pregnant.

Then in Season 6 (I think), it was again addressed when Brooke wasn't able to get pregnant because she could not have kids. It was never addressed in Season 4 or 6 as to why she couldn't...she was just written that she couldn't have kids.

Then miracle twins happened and it's like Brooke was always able to have kids. Like What The Hell? What about the stories from the past that debilitated Brooke knowing she would never be a mom? I'm not trying to step on any toes or get into a fued about fertility. But it was about following a story that was set in stone seasons before and then what...forgotten about. I realize the dick of them all was at the helm before and Season 9 had a different showrunner/writers...etc. I just really wish they would've stuck to the story at hand and not made the alternate reality to suit the story that we were then seeing.

I must have missed that. Oh boy. I guess I didn't really pay that close attention to other storylines.

See I wasn’t even a big fan of Naley in season 1. I felt like Haley didn’t have a backbone. I was not a fan and it took me a while to be on board. So I definitely understand why some people never liked them or couldn’t fully warm up.

I've always adored them.

That’s great. :) They are certainly one of the most unique pairings in TV history.

They sure did
