Lucas: More of his interest in a writing career, plus his romantic relationships developed better and in a way that is less damaging to his character.

Peyton: Same with you on the Ellie front, plus I wish they did more with the drug storyline, the THUD stuff from S1 (& her art as a whole) and like Lucas, better developed romantic relationships outside of Lucas.

Nathan: Give him more interests outside of Basketball, slow down his development as a whole and better develop his friendships as a whole too.

Haley: Do more with her family as a whole and better develop her musical side too. Also don't make her so judgemental, lol

Brooke: Keep her away from Lucas romantically after S1. Better develop her interest in fashion in the first 2 seasons, introduce her parents into the show much earlier and tbh, I would have been really tempted to make her bi too.

Love all of those.

So much potential that was missed.

That is why a reunion or revival might be nice if done right.

So much wasted potential sadly

Another thing to add to Peyton is that I wished they did more with Derek too

jediwands 11-17-2019 04:34 AM

Oh me too. Is there anything specifically you would have liked to have seen?

ds44 11-17-2019 06:59 AM

I think the only thing I hated was the Derek storyline and the extended Bruce’s. In terms, of Haley I would have ended them for good in season 2.

Ended Naley in season 2?

See I wasn’t even a big fan of Naley in season 1. I felt like Haley didn’t have a backbone. I was not a fan and it took me a while to be on board. So I definitely understand why some people never liked them or couldn’t fully warm up.

I actually liked them at first, but everytime I rewatch the show they just don't make sense. They are so ill-matched. I felt like they were on a never-ending rollercoaster which sometimes I don't mind if I like both people. But, I ended up really disliking Haley as a result of that relationship. It did wonders for Nathan's character but not the other way around.

I see. When I watched after season 1, Nathan infuriated me numerous times... nanny, his involvement with loan sharks almost kills Haley her life in a near-fatal car crash.

Only time I’ve had issues with Haley was her treatment of Peyton after Peyton returns from California. Her weird closeness with Lindsey was annoying. Season 5 Haley annoyed me.

I think I just realized I never found her charming. I hated nathan in season 1 and indirectly haley for getting involved with him. I felt like she was so judgy of others. In the first two seasons, I didn't like Nathan and then in 3 and 4 it was Haley. Then both of them in 5 and 6. I also felt like they wrote her so badly in season 7.

They definitely had issues writing Haley in season 7. Yes it was how judgmental she was at times that really bothered me. After season 5 I wanted Peyton to dump her as a friend and never look back. Brooke treated Peyton like trash in the earlier seasons. Some of that can be attributed to immaturity (even if I don’t want to give Brooke a break really because she was awful). But with Haley in season five especially, she knew better. She was a grown adult. She made it seem like Peyton was in the wrong for even returning from California. Then that weird friendship with Lindsey. Where did their friendship go once Lucas and Peyton got back together? It was done which proves the friendship was fleeting and only in the moment... which is fine, but don’t be messing with my girl Peyton.

I think people noticed it in season 5, but she was so rude and judgey to Lucas. I don’t really have a problem when that type of person laughs it off or is sarcastic. I also can handle it when I feel like the person is right about their judgement. But, when you are wrong as many times as Haley was it’s just annoying. Often it came across more as nosey.

Agreed.

Did you like Brooke and Julian?
