Hi all -
Eilla, great idea for a thread. I've been dying to find some good Everwood fanfiction, and I absolutely loved ( loved, loved ) Break Away. I'm a huge Ephram/Colin fan, and you captured them amazingly well. If you ( or anyone else ) is interested, I have a Bright/Colin fic at FF.Net that I wrote under the name Demon.

EphramIsHot - yes, FF.Net has some pretty good stuff. You have to watch out, however, because there is an epidemic of "Ephram's-friend-slash-love-interest-from-NY-comes-to-Everwood-for-no-apparent-reason" fics. Don't get me wrong, some of them are quite good, but many tend towards Mary-Sueish-ness. That's the general problem with FF.Net - there's some good fiction, but it requires some effort to weed it out from the abundance of badfic. But we will be brave in the attempt. Do you know of any Everwood-only archives? I've been searching, but I haven't found any.

Ditey - I just got your PM - thank you so much! I'm so flattered that you liked it; I'm a big fan of your work. I haven't noticed your name on any of the Everwood fics, though - are you planning on writing some? ( I held out for a while because I wasn't sure which ship I wanted to sail on. And, of course, as soon as I finished Finding the Quiet Place, I changed my mine and fell in love with Colin/Ephram. Sigh. ) Please consider writing some Everwood fanfiction if you haven't already; I think the fandom would benefit from your splendiferous talents.

Juliet: Thank you! I know what you mean, Colin and Ephram are Actually, I have gotten around to writing a few Everwood fics of ff.net. I just finished one called Castles in the Air, about Amy's birthday and whatnot. I haven't had the courage to write Colin/Ephram yet. But I love them together so much! One of my internal conflicts, not being able to write decent slash. Oh well. I guess I'll have to stick to being an avid shipper.

My first, and only (for now), fic. It's a short, angsty Christmas piece with Irv narrating. Check it out, if you'd like.

"Searching"
Summary: Searching for the impossible. http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1134050

Want to rec a fic too. It's called "Possibilities," and it's by Vega. It's really well written, and completely in character. You can find it at: http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1170294

Vlada

Ditey - Well, if you change your mind, I'll definitly read any slash fic you come up with. I reviewed Castles in the Air over at FF.Net-it's totally amazing. You made me like Amy! The conflict between her feelings for Colin and her feelings for Ephram is captured just beautifully. Yay for you.

Vlada - I think you broke new ground with Searching - I'm not sure anyone had done a fic like that before, both is style and in content. Very well-written, I love that you can tell Irv is narrating even though it doesn't say so in the piece. The ending is so perfect! Keep writing, please. O.O ( that's supposed to be puppy dog eyes...my friend made it up, and I keep using it in spite pf myself. )

off to read Possibilities,
Juliet

Eilla, I got your email. Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm all smiles now. I read your fic, "Break Away," and I loved it. It was so moving. Expect a glowing email, and I am definitely reccing it in my blog.

And Juliet, awh, you're words have totally made my heart just grow ten sizes. Hehe. You have no idea how much what you said meant to me. I'm so happy that story cames across as touching as I hoped it would be.

BTW, I'm planning to write a companion piece to "Searching."

While I'm here, I must rec some more fic.

BJ's fic is great. I particularly liked "Moving On" and "Whilst This Machine." They're slashy, without being in-your-face slashy, and such beautiful prose. Honorable mention to "Conscious," a grown-up Delia fic. You can find her fic at: http://bj.gatefiction.com/ranfan.html

xoxo,
Vlada

Vlada- oooh..can't wait for the companion piece...yay!
I think I remember Whilst This Machine... perhaps I'll go reread it. For other slashy stuff, always krissy is a great author ( she may have authored one or both of the fics you rec'd, I'm not sure. ) I haven't found many non-slash writers that I like other than Ditey and you - but on the other hand, I don't read much het stuff because I don't really like Amy, and she's often one of the main characters.

Bj is an incredible writer. I adored 'Whilst This Machine'. Great reccomendations Always krissy has amazing work as well. Her early Bright/Ephram pieces are marvellous. Ff.net is being difficult and won't let me upload anything till Sunday. Sigh.

Juliet: Thank you so much for the review! It completely made my day! I haven't been loving Amy lately either, but for my lack of slash talent...you will be the first to read anything I would ever come up with

Nope, none of the fics I recced are by krissy. Can you give me the title of one of her stores or a link to her ff.net profile? There's so many krissys on ff.net, I couldn't track down her fic.

And I'm in fic heaven right now. I found another good story. It's called "Unwanted Memories" by Mardia. Slashy Colin/Ephram, and so sad. http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1217938

Vlada

Ditey 02-15-2003 11:36 PM

Unwanted Memories was simply gorgeous! Colin and Ephram just make me so

Always krissy has changed her penname to calenia. Here is her profile- I rec. Colin Sitting. Very well-done.
http://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?userid=262400

Ff.net has been difficult.. But keep writing everyone!

JulietMockingbird 02-17-2003 09:10 PM

Unwanted Memories....*smile* definitly made my day.

I've been trying to come up with an idea for a Colin/Ephram fic without a lot of luck. I usually sort of suck at one-shot type pieces ( the Bright/Colin was a fluke - a happy fluke, but a fluke nonetheless ), but I feel like I don't have enough info for a longer piece. And I'm also completely unspoiled for this coming episode, but if I recall correctly, Colin is off in Denver getting tested for something or other. *sniff*

FF.Net is back up and running now, though the first time I tried to load the page my computer froze. *glare* Evil. Happy viewing!

BJ has a new fic called "Massive Attack." It's Colin/Ephram. http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1249714

Vlada

JulietMockingbird 03-02-2003 12:28 AM

I second the rec- Massive Attack is one of the most gorgeous slash fics I've ever read, in any fandom. Definitly worth the time it takes to read it.
