Chicago is really great, I think you would love the city for sure.

Suburbs are very nice around downtown Chicago.
Regarding Hawaii: You can't get away with going for only a day or two. You need a little longer. It's really beautiful. I remember as a little girl going there and not wanting to keep my eyes off of the water, the scenic view. My eyes were in love. My dad has a very close friend who was born and raised in Hawaii. He's lived in Minnesota for about 10 years (due to a job transfer). He goes home for every holiday and basically as much as possible. I've been to Chicago 3030304040450404040 times.
 LOL. Chicago is only 5 hours from Cleveland, about 5 1/2 from Minneapolis. When I was little, my dad had business in Chicago and we spent many summers in Chicago. We went there over Christmas vacation often too. I have endless memories in Chicago. I love the city, one of my favorite cities in the world. Love it!What I like most about Chicago? The food, lol. The people. Down to earth Midwestern people. The people make the City. You do not have the same type of people in NYC or LA. In Chicago, the people are very nice and welcoming without being in your face. You get that Midwestern Feel right away. The architecture is incredible too. The history.
