[L&O:SVU with Sarah Drew]... (someone on the staff must be an Everwood fan for both EVC and her to be on it quite soon after each other)
Yeah, that's quite possible. Also, Christopher Meloni who stars in L&O: SVU is in Emily's film Carriers. So, there's a connection. Obviously, both actresses have impressive talent and professionalism so you know they landed the roles on their own merit. I saw Emily's episode and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen Sarah's but I definitely will come Tuesday. Yay!!
And yes, Sarah definitely brought a lot of good qualities and aspects to Everwood playing Hannah.
Hmm. That's interesting...I stopped watching Men in Trees, too. I probably watched more than you did though. But, frankly, I got bored-- that and I was spending too much time watching TV. But, yes, I do specifically remember being bored watching the show, but at least not for the entirety of the episodes. The show's alright--has some interesting, fun elements but then some annoying ones, too. It was renewed for a second season, ya know.
I'll tell you what show really sucks though: OCTOBER ROAD!! God, that's the worst show I've seen in awhile and I can not believe it was renewed!! Uggh!! How stupid. Certainly ABC knows that but had no other choice.

Let us know what you think of Sarah's performance. I'll be checking it out again too.

BIG TIME agreed. I tried out this awful awful terrible show because, you know, small town, character-based drama and hoping that it would have even a few elements similar to Everwood because of that. Oh gosh! What dreck. Cliched, boring, unrealistic characters that you get no real grasp of, a main character that is so unlikable it makes Treat when he was sleeping with Amanda seem like a great guy, no sense of a small town (for all of Men in Trees faults, you at least get the characters off the bat and you at least feel a sense of a realistic small town), awful dialogue, a peanut angle that is so central to the plot that makes no frickin' sense and is unbelievable to boot and...*calms down*. Easily has my vote for the worst pilot of the season. Laura Prepon was the ONLY thing good in the whole one hour pilot. That show desperately needs to find a few Everwood writers, like Josh Reims who is currently not attached to anything, and desperately save the quality of the show. Actually, scratch that, I want Reims working with Berlanti on Eli Stone if possible. OR is beyond saving; it was recently named the Worst Show on Television by critics. Well-deserved!

Alright, I'm done. I like a good rant once in a while.

I'm excited to see that episode. WOOHOOO!! Sure, I'll let you know what I think.
NICE rant, Tos. Heh. Heh. But, that's absolutely correct, everything you said about OR. I was hoping it could be a show I liked but it totally wasn't! There's plenty good shows to watch so it's water under the bridge. Although, I'm anxious to see what will happen to it though. Yeah, Lauren Prepon, I think, is better than the show.

There ya go.
I wonder if I should delete the FanBolt one...OK, I just altered it.

Just a warning: A Lot Like Love SUCKS. Lee Garlington is only in it for 30 seconds--IF that-- and she's barely seen anyway. The story would be compelling if the leads were as such but unfortunately they're not. Peet might be outstanding opposite a more talented, less homely co-star and better material. I can't help but compare Kutcher's awkwardness onscreen to that of Justin Timberlake's, who is a "singer/entertainer" by trade(and not a very good one). There is absolutely no chemistry between the two leads, one of which should never be cast as a lead ever again. The story moves way too slowly and for heaven sakes, spans SEVEN years, and as far as I could tell nothing really changes in the film, including the laggard writing and sloppy performances. Granted, I didn't watch the entire movie, but it became imperative that after about 30 minutes of not captivating my interest that I end the misery. Don't bother watching this uninspired, insipid, unfulfilling film -- I think it will bore you out of your skull and waste your precious time.
Consequently, this title will no longer be listed on the schedule. -

Stop by Wednesday to see what's on THURSDAY and FRIDAY of this week. See ya then!

Thanks detritus.

Yeah, there's occasionally some errors, but usually they get worked out pretty quickly. Today's was pretty long, though, probably until at least 5 pm ET.

I watched the L&O:SVU with Sarah Drew (hey, that rhymes!) tonight and she was great. Not exactly an enjoyable or fun television show, but I was only tuning in for her anyway. I still can't bear to see her cry, even if she is playing a teenage alcoholic.

Hee, nice rant yourself, detritus. Thanks for the warning!

Just a few little mentions, but I was watching Six Feet Under the other night on a Canadian station and Lee Garlington ended up being the person who died. She wasn't in it very long, but it was a nice little surprise.

And I did watch Air Force One on TBS on Saturday because it's a solid action movie and I completely forgot that Philip Baker Hall was going to be on and that was a little surprise too. There was one point near the end of the movie where he gives the Vice President a thumbs up, and he's got this goofy smile on his face and I couldn't help but think that this was the guy Andy was intimidated by in "Home", but then again, I would be intimidated by Philip Baker Hall too, that guy rocks!

I have to agree on October Road, I love Bryan Greenberg but the show is not good at all. it's too bad.
As for "A lot like love", I actually loved it when I saw it. But I like those kind of movies

Nice question.
It just so happend I liked the Merriam-Webster Online word-of-the-day the day I decided to register at the old WB website. That's the story, simple and true.

OK. I'm back. Heh. Yeah, buffyann, I don't think anyone, anywhere liked "October Road"! You liked A Lot Like Love, hmm. OK. I can respect that. Everyone's different. Thank you for telling me what you thought. Thinking of romcoms I like...or absolutely love...2004's Chasing Liberty is good! Entertaining and absorbing with magnificent leads Mandy Moore and Mathew Goode and fantastic supporting performances by Jeremy Piven, Annabella Sciorra, as well as Mark Harmon.

Quote:
Thanks detritus.
Sure thing!

Yep. I realized that.

Awww. Hey! Guess what?! I watched it too! She was really great! Very real and believeable.

Thank you. And...no problem. Heh heh.

I didn't know you received that channel, Mister. You're right, he is gruff but he can be whimsical too. He's an amazing character actor. So, wow, nice lil surprises for ya then. Cool.

I had a pleasant surprise as well when I was watching TV earlier this week...
Of course you remember Louise, Harold's nurse(played by Jan B. Felt).
Well... I saw a Foundation for a Better Life commercial the other day displaying generosity which showed a school bus full of childeren where the bus driver says to one of the kids, "OK, Josh, do your stuff," and the kid stands up and says, "OK, people. You know the drill," and goes around collecting canned goods from his classmates. Then you see the bus pull up to a shelter and the kid gets off with the bag of collected items and strolls up the walk then gives them to the woman who answers the door and I swear it's her!!
That is Ms. Felt aka Louise!! It's gotta be. Anyway, I was SO excited when I saw that commercial to say the least.
It's on YouTube, woohoo!! See for yourself: YouTube - Generosity - Pass it on

Update: I left a comment for that video. Yay!!

Wow, Chasing Liberty love. I like it because I have a somewhat obsessive crush on Ms. Moore. But there are some great performances, for sure.

Quote:

She really was. Did you ever get to see Emily on the show? She was increeeedible. There's a clip around here somewhere if you did miss it, because it's definitely worth watching!

Hee, I think that is Ms. Felt! It definitely looks a lot like her! Maybe she takes the cans and passes them along to Harold and he's all "Louise, what is the meaning of this? What do you think this office is, a recycling bin?" or something a lot funnier. I loved their relationship, it was a riot.

Thanks again for the updates.
