Realizing that his feelings for Amanda (Anne Heche) are only growing stronger despite his best efforts to maintain a platonic friendship, Andy (Treat Williams) decides it's in both of their best interests if he refers her husband's case to Dr. Abbott (Tom Amandes). Upon hearing news that Madison's band is performing in town, Ephram (Gregory Smith) seeks guidance from Bright (Chris Pratt), signaling a thaw in the boys' chilly relationship as of late. Finally, Amy's (Emily VanCamp) curiousity unearths Hannah's (Sarah Drew) family secret.

Debra Mooney, John Beasley, Vivien Cardone, Stephanie Niznik and Merrilyn Gann also star. Bruce Miller wrote the episode directed by David Petrarca.

Only three more hours. I hope they don't do something stupid and enter the hiatus on a down note....but I'm afraid they will...

jediwands 11-29-2004 10:25 PM

Totally, The Crow.. Something tells me it will be "down city" tonight. :( I hope I'm wrong.

I'm looking forward to this storyline. I just adore Hannah, so I'm glad we'll be seeing more of her. Also, I'm hoping for some Bright involvement, 'cause bright+hannah=truwuv! :)

Not really feeling the Madison stuff or the Andy/Amanda stuff.

jediwands 11-30-2004 12:19 AM

I am also looking forward to Hannah's family secret.

I also can't wait to see Ephram and Bright. :)

I am not looking forward to seeing Andy/Amanda. Please, writers, tie up this storyline... and fast.

Less than an hour to go!

vc318 11-30-2004 12:29 AM

Only half and hour to go. As usual, I bet it's gonna be a good episode! :D

Totally forgot it was on! What was Hannah's secret? And did Madison appear?

Andy, I will NEVER forgive you. :irked:
And as for Ephram? What an idiot.

That's really all I have to say. No, I'm not very coherent.

Well, I don’t have time to write a detailed commentary right now, but I was very disappointed in both Andy and Ephram’s behavior in this episode, as they both took steps that could cost them whatever happiness they’ve gained. Ephram was so wrong to lie to Amy about going to see Madison’s band, and I simply don’t understand why he’d do that, when he said himself that everything in his life was exactly the way he wanted it to be. I think Ephram’s actions tonight gave real truth to the statement “curiosity killed the cat,” or in this case, his “curiosity” could have killed Amy’s trust in him, and for what? For a girl who broke his heart, and who he said he wasn’t in love with anymore? Ephram said that he felt like he always had to keep up with Madison, but that Amy made him feel good, so why mess with something like that? Ephram, how could you?

And then we have Andy, who should know better, taking the chance of throwing away the respect that not only his partner has for him, but of everyone around him, by embarking in an affair with a married woman. Everwood is a small town, and people are bound to find out, but even if they didn’t, what he’s doing is wrong, wrong, wrong. Both father and son deserve to get coal in their stockings this Christmas! ;)

Hannah’s story was heartbreaking, and Amy’s concern for her was touching, but it also might mean that they might have her as a permanent character now that the true purpose of why she was in Everwood was revealed. I could definitely understand her not wanting to know if she’ll end up with the same debilitating disease that her father has though, because I think that if she did know, it could affect every aspect of her life, and she wouldn’t be able to enjoy the time that she had.

It was good to see Bright and Ephram connect again as friends, and his allusions to comparing relationships as “the Pepsi challenge” was hilarious. Once again, though, I was disappointed to see so little of Bright, as well as Delia, and it seems like they’re virtually written off Irv and Edna this season.

Oh well, that’s it for now, and I’m going to use this hiatus to catch up on my episode commentaries.

I'll wait to discuss specifics until the show has finished on the west coast. But, overall I was very disappointed with the writer's/producer's choices of story lines. In my mind it's like they were determined to use every stupid sweeps-ending pre-hiatus cliche in the books. And in doing so they sacrificed the the credibility of several of their most important characters.
The Amy/Hannah story line was the only one with any credibility at all.

Madison didnt appear in this episode there was some girl who replaced her. And by all means WE SAW SOME BRIGHT!!!!!! Bout time geesh :)

Amy/Ephram: Ok i was upset by this.He shouldn't have lied to her and went to see the band. If he's in love with Amy like he says he is why would he even bother going? I mean if he went obviously he's unsure of his feelings for amy and wanted to explore it further. And some brother Bright is, if he had any sense he would talk Ephram out of going because he's dating Amy.

Andy/Amanda: Ok i'm getting bored by this storyline and it just started going. I'm not a fan of these two and at the end you could definitly tell they were going to kiss blah blah blah....

Hannah/Amy: I'm glad we got to see more scenes with them. ALthough I do feel sorry for Hannah's dad and his condition. I was tearing when she was telling Amy what happened to him. And amy's such a great friend she went along and researched about it I would of done the same thing if my friend as in the same situation.

Dr. Abott: Ok he literally makes me laugh everytime i see him on the show. He was singing christmas carols. And whats with the lazer beams thingy  he's a wack job but funny.

Dr. Jake :  "I'm more of an amazon.com kind of guy, you should see my blockbuster bill." I love him.
