Everwood Fans who are Dawson/Joey & Pacey/Andie Fans of DC #12: Kevin Williamson abandoned his show after season 2. We should have done the same.

This is an appreciation thread for Everwood fans who are also Dawson/Joey & Pacey/Andie fans. For those who shipped these pairings, the series once had such great promise, but ended up being one of the most disappointing series to date. TPTB enjoyed manipulating the heart and soul of the old school (seasons 1/2) Dawson's Creek audience, who embraced the premise and the main pairings of the show, Dawson/Joey and Pacey/Andie fans. The first two seasons defined Dawson's Creek. Season 3 came along and the show simply wasn't the same anymore. New showrunner who essentially mocked the premise, destroyed the main pairings, and was basically just fine with dropping the quality in order to make the series his own. We know the drill. Discussing our main pairings, as well frustrations over storylines, writing, TPTB, fandom in general, is also welcome here.

Note: This is not a debate thread with other ships. This thread is strictly for Dawson/Joey & Pacey/Andie fans to appreciate the pairings and discuss aspects of the show, both good and bad. This thread was originally created to celebrate friendships between a couple of regulars on the Everwood board who, back in the day, posted on the Dawson's Creek board and encountered some terrible fan wars and not so great moments. We wanted a safe place to discuss our thoughts here on the Everwood board. That is how this thread was created. Jerry D, our amazing Administrator, and my very good friend, came up with the idea and the rest is history. For those of you who ship other pairings and don't agree with the content of this thread, of course there's the Dawson's Creek board and other threads scattered throughout Fan Forum perfectly designed for you.

Thanks!

Alternate S5 & S6 : He made a solemn promise he would come and visit her. Hell, he even jotted it down in indelible black ink onto the crisp pages of her brand new journal while wearing a big toothy grin on his face, but regardless, it had been months since Pacey had made any contact with Andie. Andie forced herself not to overthink it and chalked it up to life getting in the way, but the smallest embers inside of her heart that yearned for him still despite everything that happened between them started to prickle at the back of her head. Although once the orientation process at Harvard was over and the real work began, Andie’s thoughts of Pacey Witter were sidelined in order to make room for the mountains and mountains of schoolwork she was receiving on a daily basis.

That was until, out of the blue, Pacey literally came sailing back into her life looking tanned, well rested, and even more gorgeous. Andie vowed to never let herself fall back in love with Pacey, she made an ironclad pledge to herself to never stray back into that hornet’s nest, but his soft, warm gaze pointed in her direction had Andie convinced his heart was remembering the way it used to love her.

She was one hundred percent correct in her assumptions.

The laughter between them settled into a deep warmth and easiness, and they talked well into the wee hours of the night and gradually, the intimacy they once coveted as a couple so long ago had returned to their bodies in triplicate. It started with Pacey’s hand brushing up against hers when she handed him a magazine from a convenience store shelf, which then evolved into their hugs becoming longer and more needy each time they touched. Soon enough, Pacey did the unthinkable, and asked Andie a question she never thought she’d hear again in her life from him…

Pacey Witter had asked her out on a date.

At first, they had both agreed to not invest too much of themselves into the date, stating an urge to take things as slow as they could in order to protect themselves from any harmful fallout, but Pacey and Andie’s mutually intense bedroom eyes that screamed “make love to me.” seemed to tell another story altogether. The immense pain of potentially opening up old wounds over how their relationship crumbled in the past fell to the wayside as Pacey and Andie ended up having passionate, raw, soul searing sex in Andie’s shower. Every single iota of mistrust, devastating heartbreak, and bad memories in their past circled its way down the drain.

And as Andie sat by her vanity, drying her hair and watching Pacey getting ready for bed, she smiled to herself. At long last, she finally felt like she could breathe again.

This takes place at the end of season four. It's my very first P/A story. two short chapters. My version on how the graduation could/should have went.

A short interlude of what could have happened between seasons three and four.

3.Finding True Love Chapter 1, a dawson's creek fanfic | FanFiction

Fourteen chapters of what could have happened in the future. I wrote it over two years. The story starts season three when Pacey is getting ready to sail away. The end of chapter one has a unique twist, I think you'll enjoy.

The following is by ElizabethBella who wrote a fantastic Pacey/Andie story. (My favourite)

Welcome.

Honestly, I think the best ending of the series would have been Joey falling into the Creek. JK

The best ending actually would have been both Dawson and Pacey moving on from Joey. That was the clever, realistic ending. TPTB weren't interested in realism or cleverness though.

I also agree that Dawson/Pacey never had the recipe for a lasting friendship. We can rip Dawson for turning his nose up at Pacey or Pacey backstabbing Dawson, but at the end of the day if they had a real friendship, Dawson wouldn't have looked down on Pacey and Pacey wouldn't have gone for it with Joey. There was obviously something wrong with the friendship from day 1.

This show sucked at portraying strong friendships though which is unfortunate. Joey never had a close girl friend and I found that so odd. Yes it was self absorbed Joey but it was still weird to me. One Tree Hill demonstrated a realistic portrayal of friendship and made Dawson's Creek look stupid by comparison.

See this is why I wish and hope one day that you get to see Felicity. The Elena and Felicity friendships I've seen on tv. But, then again its jj.

I agree both should have moved on from her or they should have just not gone the triangle route in the first place.

Aww, I miss Felicity. Michelle, how have you not ever seen Felicity? It's so good. Way better than DC.

I don't think Joey lacked female friends because she was self-absorbed, which she definitely was, but Joey was also snotty and just plain nasty at times. Remember when they tried to set up Jen and Jack and this was after Joey and Jack had kissed? Joey said Jack was a sweet guy and Jen was...something. I remember it was a bitchy thing to say.

I did enjoy Jen and Andie's friendship.

It is really sad though when OTH can portray a much more realistic friendship than DC.

^ lol that is sad.

I just think they had the recipe and actors for a much better show. But, they went the cliche triangle route instead.

I always liked Joey. I like that shes' very relatable and real for me. But so is DJ. Both characters had very real experiences like a parent dying in their life and the other parent never around, plus Joey having to think about the first time. Thats what a lot of teenagers have to go through and Andies' mental illness.

Good friendships on Felicity? Awesome, definitely another reason to watch.

I just find it so unrealistic they didn't move on. Dawson's a successful director/producer probably surrounded by women and he was single or not even casually dating? Pacey's handsome, charming, but miserable, getting into fights with the assumption being he wasn't over Joey? Yeah, right. So unrealistic.

I have no clue how I've never seen it! It's insane, I know. Is it on Netflix? I will watch it before 2016 turns into 2017.

Joey was definitely nasty and cold. I thought some of it was due to her family life. It did suck. Her mom died, her dad was a deadbeat drug dealer. I felt like in season 1 she was all about Dawson because he was comfortable and really the only family she had minus her sister and nephew. So she felt like she didn't want to let anyone else in because maybe they'd leave and she didn't want more of that. I think that's initially why she hated Jen. She was scared of Jen taking Dawson away from her and her place in his life. But that was season 1. You could tell she started opening up and her mom's death/dad's situation was easier to deal with yet she was still a nasty witch. I will never forget how rude she was to that actress (Devon) in Dawson's movie. She was dating Jack and still felt like she had to rip apart this actress she hardly knew. Even Audrey in season 5 you could tell she always felt like she was better than her. It was kind of like Joey sat back and took in Audrey for comic relief but was secretly waiting for Audrey to self destruct so she could feel superior... and as we know it happened with Audrey and the drinking. Joey got her wish to watch that, especially since Pacey dated Audrey so Joey could almost go with the "I told you so" bit.

You are so right when she tried setting up Jen and Jack. Joey's thoughts of Jen were disgusting. Jen had a heart of gold. She was such a decent person. Problem was Jen never stood a chance because TPTB had to keep her lower than Joey. They even killed Jen off while Joey got the romantic ending. Had to happen since Queen Joey Potter needed to rule.

I liked Joey in season 1 (minus her treatment of Jen) because of the realness. I also feel she was messed up and rough around the edges because of her mom's death and dad's drug dealing situation. I just feel like she morphed into an even worse version of herself after that though.

Andie's mental illness storyline was great initially. Meredith played it to perfection. I do feel like they missed the boat during many aspects of the mental illness. I also hated what they did to Andie in season 3. When they had her fake the rape and saint Joey was around to save the day and notice Andie wasn't telling the truth... again it was for Joey to look like the perfect princess and Andie to look like a lying freak almost. It pissed me off so much.

Andie and Jen, many times, were used to pimp Joey Potter. In the end, Andie was shipped off and Jen was killed off for Joey Potter too.

No, they took it off netflix, but its on abc.com and hulu.

There were three types of WB fans back then: Creek Fans, Felicity fans, Sci Fi fans (who were into Roswell/Buffy)

Andi's mental illness story and how Pacey was the only one to get through to her was so effing beautiful that it made me cry. Dawson and Pacey still crushing after Joey was ridiculous. That's why I say my biggest ship is Joey/Hatred.

Pacey never said I lost my girlfriend after joey and him split but with the other two, he was so beyond upset and fought to get them back.

I don't have hula but will try abc.com.

Lol That's so true about the three types of WB fans back then. I had a guy friend who adored Roswell and Buffy and teased me for watching Dawson's Creek. He later thanked me profusely for introducing him to Everwood.

I loved how Pacey was the only one to reach Andie. I loved that scene when Andie locked herself in the bathroom with Pacey talking to her.

LOL Love the Joey/Hatred ship.

Pacey felt relieved after he broke up with Joey in season 4. Two seconds later he was so happy he graduated and the one person he wanted to share the news with was Andie, the girl who truly believed in him.
