Episode Discussion: Ep#307 "Best Laid Plans"
from thewb.com:
everwood: Best Laid Plans Fresh | monday | 9/8c When Jake (Scott Wolf) surreptitiously informs Andy (Treat Williams) that Ephram (Gregory Smith) came to him for a STD test, Andy and Harold (Tom Amandes) decide the best plan of action is to convince Ephram and Amy to hold off on sex. Of course, when Ephram realizes it's no coincidence that he and Amy both had a heart-to-heart with their fathers on the same day and informs her of his suspicions, Amy feels betrayed that Ephram didn't tell her about the test beforehand. In another part of town, Nina (Stephanie Niznik) finally decides it's time to tell Andy how she feels about him and asks him out to dinner, and Bright (Chris Pratt) invites a lovestruck Hannah (Sarah Drew) to go with him to a movie, but the night takes a turn for the worst when Hannah misinterprets his interest. Debra Mooney, John Beasley, Vivien Cardone and Merrilyn Gann also star. Sherri Cooper wrote the episode directed by Jason Moore. __________________

Looking forward to the new episode tomorrow night. I am still shocked at how there is no patient privacy in Everwood. LOL Dr. Jake has no right blabbing anything to Andy about Ephram due to the doc/patient confidentiality. Anyway, I can't wait for the episode tomorrow night!

Actually, I'm wondering what Harold's reaction will be, since Andy didn't tell him when Amy went on birth control...although they may not even mention it. __________________

I agree, but I can see the point of them being concerned about this, seeing as the last time Ephram dabbled in the bedroom arts, it may or may not have resulted in a child....something both doctors are aware of and hypersensitive to.

Yeah True Daisy, they are way too involved in every aspect of their childrens lives. I get that they feel the need to keep closer tabs on them because of the Madison pregnancy but all the same, like I said, Andy made the decision not to tell Ephram but that certainly doesn't give him the right to breathe down his neck all the time. He is on him all the time about piano, and now it seems he is going to closely monitor his relationship with Amy. Fine but sometimes he needs to realize that he is overstepping the line and he needs to just back off a bit. It will be interesting to see what goes down in this episode tonight. Only a little over two hours from now! I can't wait!

Life's been...
...a bit stressful lately and I missed the last episode or two. Things starting looking up a little last Friday... and now this.
There are still "things" that summon my attention so I won't stay long. Just wanna say there wasn't a moment that I disliked. There wasn't a moment I wasn't entertained. This was about as close to a perfect episode as they come. It lacked a little brain food but had lots of heart to compensate. Heck, I even liked Jake! I needed the smiles and chuckles... Thanks for being you, Everwood! Aquillea |

Wow. I actually LOVED this episode. The Ephram and Amy interaction was actually perfect, especially the end.
Edna...may I confess my utter love for you? How amazing was the scene with Amy and the scene with Jake? This episode was right on with everything. I also really liked how she let Amy believe that she told them. Even if this was an oversight, Edna knew she could handle the situation and did beautifully. Oh Treat. Oh thick headed Treat. Look at Nina. She is everything you need and she knows it. Oh how dumb you are. I do like how they switched things up and gave Treat a good speech to Ephram for once. It was really well written. I liked the Bright/Hannah interaction. It was well done by both actors and I actually see them leaning in the direction of those two having a relationship. I doubt it will work, but it is a nice thought. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Amy and Ephram? Their scenes together feel so real...especially that last scene. The way they play off of each other is perfect. This show is the perfect marriage of good writing and good acting, and I'm glad to see it going so strong 3 seasons into it. Epram and Amy's relationship is one of those rare relationships that I can actually see making it through college and then through life. I think that the writers will try and mess with it throughout the duration of the series, but I doubt they could ever convincingly break those two up. Just my thoughts. -Derek |

Other bits... I simply love Edna. She rocks. Love her little "Birds & The Bees" singing at the beginning. Love how the writers keenly clued us in on what the eppie was about in such a subtle way. Love how the brilliant Edna ripped Jake a new a$$hole for being an unprofessional idiot by running to Andy and indirectly filling him in on Ephram getting tested. Love Edna's talk with Amy. Edna rules and that's all there is to it. Liked the Amy/Hannah scene. Hannah felt so much more comfy with Amy in this episode and that was great to see. Bright/Hannah.. Felt terribly for Hannah but was kind of shocked that Hannah would try kissing him. That seemed sort of out of character for her to do but all the same, I felt terribly for her but I liked Bright's explanation and love how he gave her that "I am sorry" card and ketchup bottle stuff. Sweet. Not sure if they are going to go with Bright/Hannah in the future. I actually could see it eventually happening but not for a while. I thought they had some good chemistry going on. Loved the Bright/Amy interaction. Loved the advice Amy gave Bright. Really sweet. Felt badly for Nina. Andy is one clueless dude. Oh and Harold's talk with Amy was freaking hilarious.
