What do you think of Irv and Edna's relationship so far? It's fun asking all these questions to get your views as a new fan.

I like them together. I do see the concerns with Harold and others thinking she married too soon, and on the outside it looks like she did. But they are wonderful together. It's hard to put anyone against Edna and get good results. But Irv knew how to work Edna, and he could put her in her place, not an easy task for anyone in Everwood. I was sad to learn that Irv passed away I liked him as a husband for Edna and just a guardian of sorts for the town.

And, yes, Edna never did grieve with her first husband, and that really threw Harold. I think she would grieve a lot more after Irv. He came at a very different time in her life, and died at a very different time in her life. __________________

I find it so interesting that Harold and Edna seem like polar opposites, two totally different people and their mother/son

They are a lot more similar than I think they look like at first. I think when Edna says to Andy in the pilot that a father and son who don't get along are often exactly alike is something taken from her experience with Harold. Except, you know, with a mother in place of father. They're both very stubborn, old fashioned in a lot of ways. They both take things very personally, and they're both very emotional.

Wow I just saw Debra in this show Psych, and she has the same attitude as in Everwood

I can't imagine Debra not having the attitude of Edna Harper

If I remember right she even played a killer in the show Cold Case.

Edna as a killer? Woah. That I'd have to see.
Tom Amandes also played a killer in some crime show, but he wasn't in it very much. Debra was also in Pushing Daisies, playing a snarky but protective mother. Again. __________________

I saw her on Everybody Loves Raymond (she played Frank and Marie's friend along with her TV husband) and all I kept thinking about was Edna. What a great talent Debra is.
