Mitch, you're still up or online I should say? Typically you are not posting this late? Insomnia going on?

I just got back from a party. Law school has caused me to cut back on the drinking. I know if I drank it would stop me from not only studying now but also tomorrow since hangovers are zero fun while attempting to study as well.

LOL. Nah, I'm actually staying up watching a soccer match. MLS playoffs.. LA Galaxy with Beckham/Donovan versus Houston. Weird stuff has happened! The lights have gone out in the stadium, not once, but twice, so there have been delays as a result. There is still no score in the 95th minute, into OT. If the match is not decided in OT, it will go into a shoot out. Great stuff. It's on ESPN Deuce.

Insane about the lights! The second I turn it on LA scored! Hee! Now they have another 15 mn to go. I don't know these rules are all!

Also, I should have known you intrigued by something sports-related.

I think I am growing up or something... only 24 years old and I think I am slowly giving up the drinking, hee. Eh, I'll always love my wine, but the part about going out and getting super buzzed or drunk is not doing it for me anymore. It's about priorities and yes, I guess maturity.

Hee.

The light situation was screwy!

Yes, in OT they play 30 minutes but they switch sides at 15 minutes. It's not sudden death.

Good. For. You. I am very glad. I don't want to sound like your mother but that really is awesome. There is also nothing wrong with drinking wine casually. Wine is good for you, actually! The health benefits are extraordinary! But so very wonderful how you are getting out of the stage of partying. Again, not that there is anything wrong with it, but it's obvious you are growing tired and do not need this so much anymore. That's great, Erin.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I tuned in at the right time because I got to see all the action.

What is up with Beckham's hair, though? He looks ridiculous! ICKKKKK!

A glass of red wine and a piece of dark chocolate every day will do the trick.

I believe this is the best place to post this:

I had the chance to participate in a "Mix-Tape Friday" feature on WGN-AM,which is a big radio station in Chicago and actually made it to the air(and won a prize as well). I submitted 5 songs via e-mail and they picked me and a few other listeners as well.
I made an audio clip of the segment and I wanted to share it with the class here.
I really despise my voice(sound like I'm still going through puberty),but I though it would be fun to let you hear it anyway.

Chuck!!! Congratulations!! It's not often (in fact....never!) that we hear the voice of one of our posters! It's so cool. Chuck. Thanks so much for sharing that.

I was happy to share it! I knew a day before that WGN was going to call me to be on air,so I had time to prepare. My aunt didn't get to hear it on the radio,so I had to post an audio clip on Facebook so she could.

Another congratulations, Chuck! Very cool! And thanks for sharing. Have you ever been on the radio before? Either way, I'm glad that you were able to prepare, because I'd be SO nervous, heh.

Yes,I have about 3 other times. I called in to a radio show on WLS when I was 16 and a few more times in my 20s,but this was the first time in about ten years. I was very nervous the first time, but it was easier later on. Since I had my song list written in front of me,that made it easier, plus I'm a big Garry Meier fan and really wanted to get a chance to talk to him. Although some people say I look young for my age,I think it really has to be my voice that does. And I mean really young,as the call screener/producer asked my age and was shocked when I said that I'm 39.

Heh, I feel you on the voice, Chuck. I don't think I really have a young sounding voice, but my voice still cracks sometimes, or goes high pitched for absolutely no reason for a second and then switches back, hee. So, yes, I really understand what you mean when you say it sounds like you're going through puberty!

I'm glad your aunt got to hear your appearance. Did everyone else in your family get to too?

Yes,probably all my cousins on Facebook did(since I shamelessly plugged it).
My sister heard it live on the radio, but my mom, nephew, and other sister heard my recording of it. That's definitely the case for my voice,LOL!

LOL, you are absolutely right, though. The benefits of both wine and dark chocolate have been written up in books all over the place. Wine is good for your heart and it's been shown to enhance the immune system overall, prevent heart disease, etc. They have herbal supplements that contain antioxidants that wine supplies. Dark chocolate has been known to be a weight loss tool, it's good for your heart, even, and other positives! The key is it has to be dark chocolate, not milk chocolate. Back to wine... literally they claim if you drink one glass a day you will overall see an increase in your health. All about moderation... which means you cannot have 5 dark chocolate bars daily and expect benefits since you will gain weight no matter what, hee, nor can you drink a bottle a wine nightly either, heh.

Take France for instance... they love their wine in France. Check out the health of Frenchies... overall they are much healthier, they do not suffer from obesity as much, etc. It's all about the natural food they eat, what they drink, and WINE has something largely to do with it. Some drink wine with their breakfast! It's pretty insane watching this take place. But the reasoning is because wine also helps digest food, too. Both go together and the French have been doing it for years and years:

Quote:
Today, French women have one of the longest life expectancies in the world. And by 1991, we knew why. It's called the "French Paradox." The French can eat butter, eggs, and cheese and still have a low rate of heart disease because they also drink wine—specifically red wine. The antioxidants in red wine, when it is consumed in moderation, have been found to reduce blood clots and "bad" cholesterol production. Wine also is good for the circulatory system, and it slows the body's aging.

LOL! I am one of those who does not find Beckham good looking to begin with so I don't see what the fuss is about him (his teeth are messed up, I'm picky, I know lol) so having said that... those pics are that much more unimpressive to me.

Hee, I love your posts. I'll say this until I am 10 feet under, LOL. But your posts are so informative and intelligent. It's a joy reading them.

Agree 100% regarding everything you said. My friend eats 2 dark chocolate squares a day along with minor tweaks in her diet (cutting out so many carbs) and she has not only lost weight but inches. The addition of dark chocolate is what she swears did this. She was not even that overweight to begin with. 15 lbs, max? She lost that, gained muscle, she looks incredible!

I do drink a glass of wine nightly and I swear it has helped my skin! My skin is much smoother, I don't look so pale and no it's not due to drinking too much of it, either.

I agree so much about wine. I feel it goes perfectly with a meal and the French bit I have heard of, too. Those French know the drill, don't they? LOL.
