I agree that the main reason Gonzalez opted to play for Mexico is not because he was left in the dark during our last friendly, but because we are not participating in the World cup and Mexico is.

I was. But my fault, I was just eager to get the new thread started and probably shouldn't have been. But at least I was able to fill it with soccer stuff.

I hear you. I am usually way more darker and glass is half empty than you are but for some reason I'm anxious and even slightly excited to see what the camp will bring. The only way is up.

It was probably a combination but you are so right, the WC thing really made his decision. You can't really blame him. However, I do wonder how much he'll play for Mexico. He might be getting his feet slightly wet only. Is it worth it when you could build something with the US, California native, right now, with this group and play a ton in four years? I guess he already answered that question.

I know. I can't wait until a new coach is picked along with the new president. I think once things start moving the light at the end of the tunnel will be more visible and brighter.

This is true. THe only way to go is up. I think another reason you are more optimistic than I am is because one of the main reasons for your dark feelings was the presence of JK. Now he's gone.



Not sure he will play much for Mexico at this time. They have a full slate of good players and I'm sure...goalies.
Too bad we missed the boat. We could really use him.

Oh yes, most certainly. Who were we kidding. He caused so much damage. Bringing in Arena was trying to do patch work until we could breathe and construct an entirely different system. The patch job failed, no WC, but we are literally back to where we had to be after chucking JK anyway.

Exactly. He will be grabbing bench. Not that bench players aren't great either. But he stands to play much more on our team long term over Mexico. I am sure the Mexican people are trying to make him think otherwise at the moment though.

All day long they've been talking about how bad Blake B is, LOL.

I don't see any scenario where the Jags beat the Steelers. I don't say that as a biased homer either. It would be such a big upset. QB for Jacksonville cannot even pass the ball anymore. There's just too many factors involved. I guess we'll see.
