She is right . She told me that if she were my boss, she would have called meeting and said this to the whole team.

The second German CTO is actually representative from the company that bought us. They sent him in Frankfurt to oversee things. However he does defend us a lot and he does believe that we are capable and we deserve to earn more. He has also been Developer in the past so he understands whenever we Developers discuss something. He has great people skills and is really patient.

I think that K wanted to check what were our raises. Him keeping silent means that his raise is lower compared to mine and M's. I would not have been surprised if this had happened. I am not saying that K got low like 10 %, but K and M are paid the same. That I know from the HR. I would not surprised if it's no longer like that because for Germans M is working on their most important project and K is working on something else. I am sure that K knew what his raise was. His lack of reaction for me was because he had less than me and M. If it was more, he would have said something.

But then again I am not sure that K knows that he gets the same as M. I know what M gets because he told me so when were alone once. So him telling me now the percentage is enough for me to have rough estimations how much he is paid. And while I do understand not saying how exactly you get paid. I never say. K could have said percentage, but he had no reaction at all.

Especially if I want to continue working on this project. And with this new salary I am definitely motivated. Most places would not have been able to offer me more than that.

Exactly! They expected me to fail and I came out as winner. On top of that my boss does not know how I did this. I mean he sees what I do, but he does not know why I do those things or how I prepare myself. So he can't even learn from this experience. He does not know how my mind works and what I do to bring success.

Exactly! And most probably this is why now he gives me explanation on what he plans to do and how . It's so weird for a boss to have such position.

I know it. I mean I tried to take it with water but felt bloated/nauseous and tried to quickly go there without having to swallow much due to the nausea. I didn't take it with enough water. Big mistake.

So in a matter of two hours this is what happened to me:

1. Bloated/Nausea (I know why, I had a cookie and it spiked my sugar level after eating dinner)
2. Ginger Capsule Stuck in Throat (after 30 minutes it went down but left burning, okay now)
3. Then had a Visual Migraine.

In two hours time all three of those things happened to me.

Precisely. Like you said, a large part is he doesn't know how you accomplished all of this either, he doesn't know your process. You look like a magician to him and he cannot grasp the concepts at all.

Believe it or not I do not notice the view. When I focus on work I do not see anything else. I have sort of tunnel vision and I focus so much on what I am doing that the rest world disappears.

I guess it is easier to to use such excuses than to take responsibility. It could also be a sign of insecurity. Maybe they use this excuse as they are not sure of themselves and do not know how to handle the negotiations without risking anything.

I had rather slow start in the first 6 months and then I speed up quite fast. I always start slow with something completely new and then I my Intuition gets experienced enough to pick up fast. As a newcomer I have never had the support our new people have now.

I do not know everything as he has been in the company for longer than me and he is at the age of my mother so he obviously has far more experience than me. When I started in the company he was Senior Developer in our team. Then 5-6 years ago he became part of another team called Analytics and Development. The idea is that this team is supposed to be with more experienced guys that support the Development teams. However I rarely work with him anyway. I used to work the most with my former boss. Once he left, I basically started working on my own. The jerk does not know in details my project anyway.

They have had conversations and have met each other in meetings, but for the most part the jerk does not go to that many meetings. The boss and I have more meetings. The meetings that my boss has with the CTO are the same where I participate. And as I am assertive enough I usually talk more than my boss in those meetings.

He can't change it. He could only request more for next year. There were no negotiations when it came to this. They announced that we will have raise that will be defined based on two components:

1. The average salary in our country for the position
2. Our personal achievements

And that's it. There were no conversations with anyone. He could say I expected more, but I doubt that they will give him more now. They could consider this next year.

He could have started thinking about how it matters on which project you are working on though. People are currently willing to invest a lot more on the people working on my project because they need people to keep up with the competition. They might not be that motivated to do the same for others. He also knows what went down with M so he might have started thinking how the things turned around just for few months.

Exactly . He can't grasp how I can be blunt and almost anti social and yet have all the management liking me . He can't grasp how I can negotiate that well and get what I want. Add to this the fact that he does not feel that well with his English and can't use the language that freely.

Extremely tired. I feel kind of blah and out there. Mild headache still. I slept from 3-5 and then 6-8. We went to Sam's Club and then out for breakfast. We ordered from a diner drive thru. They made it up in 5 minutes, it's so nice. Had a delicious omelet, sausage and fruit. My dad has an egg/cheese/meat sandwich and fruit. Good stuff. I don't know how they accomplish making their omelets so fluffy without any grease. It's incredible. The food is so healthy. You can tell they go out of their way to cater to healthy eating/senior population who are regulars especially.

Home now watching sports and will probably do some work if I can focus okay. Huge NFL playoff games on today but before then is college basketball and hockey.

I can believe it. You've had that sort of beauty all your life too. Not that you take it for granted but it's nothing new. Plus, you are 100% focused on your work. I love states/countries with mountains. I love Western Pennsylvania for just that. My mom grew up in a gorgeous area with rolling hills and mountains. I also love Colorado and the scenery, peaceful atmosphere. I can already say I would LOVE your country. I keep seeing things written about Sofia in particular. That it's the place to go instead of all the "in" places like Paris, etc. People need to get to Sofia. I can't tell you how many articles and even, sometimes commercials about Sofia, Bulgaria, in particular.

I think that's entirely possible. I don't like generalizing but many men hate admitting when they're wrong or are unsure. I don't know if it's a macho thing or what but they did a study on men and women lost while driving. The women wouldn't hesitate to ask someone for help/directions while the men are satisfied driving around, late for something, delayed in general, because of pride and not wanting to say they need help. I am sure that's part of why they are like this. Plus, you are a woman and even unconsciously that could play a part. You are showing them up.

It makes sense you were like this. I was too.

I am sure the English thing REALLY annoys him. Especially since he knows the Germans take English seriously.
