I realized the second this episode got going how much more I adore this series over Dawson's Creek. It's not even close. In season 4 Dawson's Creek, at the end of the season, they graduated and I was so blah about it. Anyway, just an observation and now to the finale of 4!

I love the slow motion with Haley going into labor and the gang looking on. So exciting and totally awesome. But then seeing Lucas' face when he gets that call about Karen, the embrace between brothers was... :love:

I can totally see why Mark used Live's Lightning Crashes for the intro of the episode, showing Karen and Haley back and forth, back and forth. Flirting with death, flirting with life, and on and on. Well done, Mark.

Karen and Keith, awe, Karen and Keith! This spiritual aspect is something else, I love it so much. What an added element that is so unique and outstanding. Love it!

I take back what I said a while ago about the actors who play Dan and Karen having more chemistry than the actors who play Karen and Keith. No, just no. I mean both pairings have good chemistry. But now seeing Karen and Keith "in limbo" together... oh man, my shipper heart is swelling. :love:

Chills when Jamie was born, so moving, aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh man the Lucas/Peyton CARRRRRRRRRRRRRR scene going back to The Pilot. :love: Betty, keep remembering the car because it comes into play later on too. :D

Deb saying to bring her home some drugs is hilarious. :lmao:

Deb cleaned up at the exact right time. She has a Grandson, Nathan and Haley can use her help, the situation with Dan. It's perfect.

Rachel's back! I am glad. I never hated her, she was/is flawed. She certainly deserved to graduate, that is for sure, and to think about how far Rachel and Brooke have come is remarkable. They hated each other and then developed a true friendship. It was nice.

Haha I love when the girls start dancing. So cool.

Lucas and Skills, I love their scene.

Mouth running up and kissing Brooke was fantastic. :lol:

Love that last alone Lucas/Peyton scene.... Damn straight it doesn't matter Peyton, because you and Lucas are going to get that endgame. :love:

Nathan telling Peyton he made his son and Peyton telling him good work, buddy is hilarious. :lol:

Love the Lucas/Haley scene... it started with them, they are so beautiful. Awe! Lucas is staying with them. :D

The Rivercourt scene... :cry: That scene is so beautiful it makes me sad.

Karen is with Lily surrounded by lilies and Keith... :love:

Dan couldn't even kill himself... this storyline really is heartbreaking. I don't feel sorry for him being behind bars, I just feel sad over how someone could have messed up their life that much... this is reality. There are Dan's out there for sure. Have it all but end up with nothing.

Nathan and Lucas one on one last scene... :love:

Precisely. What a horrible conclusion for this guy. He controlled all of this, absolutely all of it. He could have taken the position of being there for Karen with Keith still alive by supporting Lucas. He could have made up for things without the evil route he took. He completely lost it all... in every way.

Agreed. I wish they would have gone too.

Preliminary thoughts on Episode 5.1:

1. Jamie is absolutely adorable! They did a great job finding an actor who looks like a combination of Haley and Nathan. He seems to be smart like his mom. :lol:
I know I'm going to enjoy watching him.

2. Of course Lucas is a great uncle and you would expect the Rivercourt guys to take Jamie under their wing.

3. Haley looks beautiful. It's fitting that she be a teacher. This was her calling.
I wonder if she'll be working for Principal Turner. That would be ironic since he fired her as a tutor.

Lucas and Skills coaching the Ravens will be fun.

4. Lucas...why? Why would you be seeing someone after pledging your love forever to Peyton? No wonder you have writer's freeze.

6. Brooke is beautiful and successful....but not happy. I knew it was Brooke that Peyton called. They wanted us to think it was Lucas...but now..it was definitely Brooke.

8. Nathan is a mess!!!! :( Why did he care what those jerks said at the bar. That was a stupid move.
It's heartbreaking watching Jamie's reaction to his dad...so sad. :(

It was despicable. Nathan was so low there. Yes he was a jerk in Season 1 and yes he had said horrible things, it was supposed that he changed. After everything they went through and given his reaction to what Dan did, to say something like that is horrible, awful, rude and all kinds of sort. I like Nathan in general, but I wanted to smack him right there.

For me it was painful to watch this to be honest. Maybe I'm too much of Naley fan. It could be, but I wasn't into this angst. I've always thought that Mark had two big themes in OTH - Leyton and Nathan/Lucas relationships as brothers. I am not saying that he didn't like Naley, I'm just saying that the big one thing for Mark was Leyton when it comes to couples. And the other thing for me has always been Nathan and Lucas growing up, going down on a road to meet each other.

The only thing worse than what Nathan did was what Dan actually did - killing his brother. Luckily Lucas didn't take this personally and granted Nathan was depressed, but still this was horrible.

That's the first thing I thought of while seeing season 5... Joy/Haley looks hot. LOL Yes, Haley being a teacher really fits her personality and style. She is brilliant and as you know, we need brilliant teachers... just like you were. :D

:nod: Thank you! You are reacting like a typical diehard Lucas/Peyton fan. :D Shu mentioned it... if this storyline bothers you, you are a LP and Peyton fan because you will tend to see this a certain way, and that is precisely what you're doing. :thumbs_up:

I wish I could tell you that this gets straightened out quickly but it doesn't. Just hang in there. I will say by 5.12 you will be able to breathe easier concerning this situation and even smile as a LP fan. So sit back and know there's light at the end of this darkness. LOL

I'm not sure about that, Koni. I know Leyton was one of his end games and Nathan/Lucas was another end game, but I really believe that Nathan/Haley was an equal end game. They didn't get anymore strife than Lucas and Peyton got. Nathan and Haley definitely had road blocks, but that wasn't because they were were dating others like Lucas and Peyton.
I believe that Mark was very invested in Haley and Nathan as couple. He had definitely given them a very deep love that really moves me.

I think Mark saw both Leyton and Naley differently... Leyton was the soulmate, Ephram/Amy type of connection but Naley was the unexpected, enduring love. I believe Leyton was tortured much more which goes right along with the tortured, soulmatey thing. You will be unsettled and not quite right until you are finally together for good in every way. Naley had the tour thing and other drama but outside of season 2, they endured it together in a consistent way.

So both couples are different but by far, for me, Lucas/Peyton gave me more stress and heart palpitations with the soulmatey, tortured vibe they've had if that makes sense.
