Binge Watchers #14: The 100 Rewatch Thread

With respect to this being the Everwood board, instead of creating a thread specific to one show it could be a revolving thread for different shows we as a group decide to Binge Watch together.

Rules

1. This is an independent rewatch thread. Watch an episode and post about it if you'd like. If you want to comment instead of actively watching, you can do that, too.

2. No attacking or being rude to thoughts and opinions. This board has always had a peaceful tone and it will remain that way.

Like you said, the next episode is going to be heavy with Clay/Quinn/Logan. What is wrong with this picture? There's two fricken episodes of the series left. It should be saturated with Nathan/Haley/Brooke. Dan just died! The Scott family should be featured, not Clay.

I added a couple more photos to the OP of characters the show should have focused on.

That Naley one gives me goosebumps.

Perfect additions!

This episode was pretty filler and a set up for the series finale but some moments I did like.

Brooke and her family situation is everything. Seriously. I cried at the end when she was sitting there with her parents like that. Awe. This is a perfect ending for Brooke! She has a wonderful husband, adorable twin boys, and now her parents are back in her life, they are reuniting, and all three will be working together. It's so perfect!

Haley was awesome as always. The burning boat thing reminded me of the good old days with Lucas and Peyton around. I loved when Haley mentioned hanging out with Lucas back in the day. :( I also loved the Karen mention but that was depressing too, because it means she is not coming back anytime soon if Chase gets an opportunity to own the place.

However, the Dawson's Creek rip-off was ridiculous.

Even more ridiculous and highly annoying was Julian re-writing the real scenes, replacing himself as Lucas, inserting himself into the High School years, swapping other characters with himself was insulting, maddening, and downright irritating. I do not remotely like this storyline, not even a little bit. The hot tub scene was Lucas/Brooke, the sex tape was Brooke/Nathan. I mean, it is lame. I feel sorry for Brucas fans because it's such an enormous stab in their back. It's like Mark's trying to erase EVERYTHING that was Lucas/Brooke. I don't get it. As everyone knows, I hated Lucas/Brooke as a couple with a fricken passion. But their relationship back in high school should not be degraded like Mark's attempting to do. Julian inserting himself as Lucas is just... horrific. Mark was intentional here, most certainly.

The Clay/Quinn/Logan stuff was not remotely interesting. Logan is adorable, but he was used to prop Clay and Quinn and the lame marriage proposal.

The other thing I hated was how we saw zero aftermath after Dan's death. None. They had the funeral off screen, we didn't get to see Nathan mourn, how Jamie handled it, absolutely nothing. Nathan and Jamie were off together, not even one scene with them. Very disappointing.

I can't get over Julian inserting himself into their high school days. Why Mark? Why?

I hate the DC ripoff too! Really annoyed me. Brooke even commented on it!

This was the absolutely best part of the episode. Brooke went through so much heartache while growing up that it's amazing that she is doing as well as she is!!
Julian is an absolute gem and Brooke's parents both appreciate that so much. Thank God the two of them finally came to their senses and are attempting to be the parents that Brooke deserves.

Haley has come such a long way! She is such a vibrant/beautiful/confident woman! A great wife...mother...talented singer. She is the whole package.

ABSOLUTELY SICKENING!!!

What does this mean....Peyton does not have Lucas? If Julian was the one made the winning basket..where does that leave Lucas? Was Lucas even on the team?

I was gagging throughout all of their scenes.

I hated that Nathan and Jamie were not there. We could have at least had one little scene showing the two of them camping. Instead we get Clay/Quinn/Logan in the ocean. :irked:

I liked seeing Mouth and the guys at the River Court like old times. I'm glad Mouth is going back to sports and Skills has a new job.

Glad to see that Chuck is finally rid of his dad.

I have a question that I was wondering about for several episodes. Did Nathan only need one course to get his college degree? Is he done?

There's a saying for OTH Fans that has been true since day one.. (even Mark Schwann even said so himself)

If you get caught up on the details of the littlest things then the story telling doesn't get told very well.

Well, I think Mark ate his words on that one :lmao:

Mark predicted his own fate.

Betty that bothered me too. I guess we can assume Nate finished college since he continued with the agent thing. I wasn't sure if I missed something said about that in the episodes I skipped.
