Welcome to the Emily Van Camp/Amy Abbott Appreciation Thread! Here's the place to express your thoughts, likes, dislikes, and opinions of Emily Van Camp and her Everwood character Amy Abbott.

Canadian actress Emily VanCamp was born on May 12, 1986 in Port Perry, Ontario. She began her acting career in 2000, appearing in several episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark? A year later, she made her film debut, playing a supporting role in the Canadian romantic film Lost and Delirious. She moved to Los Angeles in 2002, and got her first regular television work, starring in the short-lived mystery series Glory Days.

Later in 2002, VanCamp joined the cast of the family drama Everwood. She is most recognized by audiences as Amy Abbott, the teenaged daughter of local doctor Harold Abbott (Chris Pratt). She was nominated for four Teen Choice Awards and one Young Artist Award during her run in the show. Despite considerable ratings success, the series was not renewed after four seasons, after the WB, its home network, merged with UPN to form the CW. During the time, she appeared in several films, including A Different Loyalty, Black Irish and The Ring Two.

In 2007, VanCamp joined the cast of the acclaimed drama series Brothers & Sisters. She played the role of Rebecca Harper, the alleged daughter of William Walker (Tom Skeritt) with his mistress of 20 years, Holly Harper (Patricia Wettig). William’s kin tried to accept her after her existence was discovered, as Rebecca confronted her mother about her actual origins. It was later discovered that her father is not William, but film director David Caplan (Ken Olin).

After three years on Brothers and Sisters, VanCamp moved on to star on the ABC series Revenge as Emily Thorne, a mysterious woman seeking vengeance from the people who killed her father.

My thoughts on the show? Where do you want me to start? Haha! I actually just started with Revenge early this year (binge-watched Seasons 1 to 4a). Got really hooked on the storyline, loved Emily's character--how she's not the typically do-good heroine and how she does not offer apologies for her actions.

I liked either Daniel and Aiden for Emily....but since they're both dead....*sigh* Missing also the menace that Conrad offered on the show. :/

Love, of course, her friendship with Nolan. I hope the writers don't get ideas of ruining their relationship ever.

Among the new characters, I'm starting to like Louise. As long as she sticks to the good side (ie Emily and Nolan's side)....she's good.

Very much not liking Margaux and Ben at all. Spare me. Ugh. (I wish we had an "x" red sharpie smiley lol)

Curious and looking forward to hear about what's gonna happen in 4x16. ^_^

Revenge: S04.E16: Retaliation

A couple months ago I mentioned I had a feeling David/Victoria weren't done and now I'm convinced this is fact. I really got the feeling they are headed for a reunion. Victoria had his back in this one and quite frankly he really would have been screwed without her warning. She got a fortune (literally) out of it but she genuinely helped David too.

Loved when Jack snapped his towel at Nolan's butt and then Nolan popped Jack's collar. I'm also glad Jack took Nolan up on his job offer.

Tons of tension between Jack/Amanda showing endlessly how meant to be they are... Romantic tension, David around them, Amanda mentioning it's nice seeing Jack on a boat (going back to beginning), Nolan repeatedly showing he diehard ships Amanda/Jack, Ben asking Amanda who her first love was and she says Jack even if she meant what she was seeing on the road... it had definite double meaning. I'm now 150% convinced Jack/Amanda are endgame. Seriously, the meant to be tag was firmly inserted in there as truth.Thank you, writers!

I don't care about Ben and even less about his ex-wife (Madison!) and the ex-wife's ex-boyfriend. What a waste of Amanda's time. However, I see foreshadowing for Ben and his ex reuniting. Ben, go to Madison now, thanks. You're of age so all the better!

Louise is a nitwit trusting her dirty brother and now he's dead and she looked like she might turn on (frame) Nolan or go crazy, maybe both. Great.

Poor Jack at the end being separated from his son heading to jail.

Margaux needs to leave the screen. She's a terribly annoying villain. I doubt this moron even remembers why she's trying to take down Amanda. Promo looks like she could lose her baby. If she does how will Victoria respond to losing more family and what was left of Daniel? Victoria might just go with game on against Amanda if it should happen.

She has gotten better. The only thing I dislike is how she's still kind of passive with idiot Margaux. Margaux basically told her she was going after Amanda no matter what and Victoria's like whatever. I don't like that, but she definitely has improved.

Well honestly, because I was rooting for Daniel or Aiden for Emily, I was not really into Jack and Emily for the past 3 seasons. Not for the lack of chemistry--it's just that their story line seemed to have taken a backseat since s2. I felt that their strongest moments were in season 1, especially in the early episodes, when things between them were, for me, really more genuine and connected.

....Which may actually make the Jack-Emily story more exciting and interesting this s4. It's something not yet fully explored--so things are looking pretty interesting. And I mean, who wouldn't love the "It has always been you" line? Waaah.

Anyway, about the recent episode. Kinda disappointed with how the takedowns were made--it just seemed too easy, rushed, and less lethal.

Sad that Natalie had to reveal her true intentions too quickly --I was actually liking her character. At least she really exuded class and elegance that could hold a candle to Victoria's. Could have been a more worthy adversary than Margaux, that's for sure.


I miss seeing Emily and Victoria together.

I miss the season 1 Emily.

I even miss the voiceovers.

And, shallow as it may be, I also miss the s1 and s2 wardrobes and expensive parties being thrown while Emily and Victoria were plotting some vengeful acts.
