Betty thanks for the new thread! I like the title.
I brought over a post of Michelle because I wanted to answer to it . Quote:

I have hectic work week as a whole with a lot of meetings so as you could expect my Introvert side is starting from now to think how I will relax afterwards and compensate the stimulation I will have this week. I had a meeting on Monday to discuss the project that involves me going to Hannover for a while. Yesterday I had the usual status meeting for the project and then another one with the team speaker of the other team to discuss technical things. I know that it sounds super weird and like we are in kindergarten , but there is some underlying tension between the two Development teams in our company. Theirs is the first one and they work on the general application that the company sells. Then I guess 5/6 years later the customers wanted something they couldn't offer without rewriting the whole thing which would have been enormous risk. So they started our team. There is no way for us to not depend on their team. The thing is that we have different philosophy views how things are done. We want to make it right, but this requires for them to change things and they don't want to do it. And without their changes we need to do the impossible to make it work. So at least one a year we come to such point where we need to discuss things and play the game "I offer you something, you offer me something". Anyway. Today is the hardest because I have 4 hours conference call from 3 pm to 7 pm to discuss things related to the Frankfurt business trip I had 2 months ago. This would be exhausting as it's video conference call between 5 different cities and I guess over 20 people. And it's 4 hours and French English is not something I've used to. Tomorrow I will perform the additional training we had plans for our testers. So this week involves me talking. And I get exhausted if I talk too much. I'm also at birthday party this Saturday and before the party I will go shopping with a co-worker. Luckily next week it's Easter here so I think that I will get my relax time then. Btw wasn't your Easter this weekend or I got it wrong (wouldn't be my first time )? P.S: Really sorry about the long post . __________________

Anna tried out for what she thought was her same top team and then the coaches called and asked if she wanted to play for the older age group on their top team. At first Anna didn't want to, she preferred staying with the girls she's played with but then her high school varsity coach gave her a call and talked it over with her. Anna couldn't really turn it down when her varsity coach was involved. LOL So she knows some of the girls as a rule (a couple are even sisters of some friends) but she's not super close with any right now. Anna might be introverted but she's a magnet just like her aunt. We don't want this but it always happens. I bet by the end of the Rockford trip she will be chummy with several of the girls. Quote:

The class total was 25. I've taught classes with as few as 10 students to as many as 100 in a huge lecture hall. It depends on the course. General psychology courses have the 100 count, but the higher the course number aka the more advanced course = the smaller the number of students in a class. Actually, it doesn't make any difference to me as far as how many I teach... there's pros and cons to both. If I'm teaching a smaller amount, I have to be more ON in personality, there has to be more of an intimate connection because you will all sort of bond and know each other. When you're teaching 75-100 students, it's really less personal and all about giving out the content and the students taking notes. I'm fine with both. Probably my introversion is better with a large group (ironically) because it is less interactive and personal. I am told I'm good with interactive and personal but I sincerely fake it since I'm way more nervous. Quote:
Wow, the tensions between the two teams sounds so difficult and the conference call. I can see that sucking your energy so much. Also, what is this about the Hannover thing? How long would they want you to go and what would it be for? What would you do? When will you decide if you're going to go? I can't imagine having to deal with all those languages either! LOL I would go nuts. Easter is this Sunday, indeed. |

How often in the week you have classes? Quote:

What I will do. Well the project I'm working on is to a certain level customazible. Customers often want different GUI (Graphical User Interface) and not just the layout and colors, but different fields, different optional values, different validation rules (imposed by the customer itself and the country laws of the customer as well) and stuff like that. Currently our co-workers in Hannover talk to the customers and define those rules together. Afterwards they create XML document that follows certain format (format I defined as this was my first big task when I started working in the company). We interpret this document and then apply those set of rules for the customer. In general this is my baby. I do know my project in deep details, but this is something I'm the master of it. I've started it with my boss (but he stopped working on that long ago like 6 years ago) and while others have some idea about certain stuff I'm the person that is the expert in this. Basically what they want is to get rid of those documents and give the users to do this by themselves via Graphical User Interface. Once they do the settings our project should use those settings. What I will work on once I go in Hannover is to integrate the project they did for the settings part to my project so that whenever a user makes settings there they are considered in my project. And there are politics there as well because the other guys want our business knowledge about the project and we want to give them as minimal as possible, but still being helpful so we need to be really balanced and careful when it comes to that. I like this challenge though. It's helpful in life sometimes to moderate what you should say and what not. ETA: I don't know why the man that works in the coffee shop at work had decided that I am losing weight all the time . I've actually put on weight - like 2 lbs though when I was in sick leave and the only thing I did was sleeping and eating . Yesterday and today he is like "You should start eating because you will vanish" . The building where we work has 20 flours and there are no buildings around it so there is a lot of wind. So a maintenance guy in the building was in the coffee and when I entered the coffee shop he was like "You should have rocks in your purse to fight the wind because with that weight" . __________________

I'm in LA right now. I ended up taking a midnight flight with two friends/co-workers. We have a meeting with some people at UCLA at 10 AM Cali time. I wasn't going to go but at the last minute decided to go with them. It's LA, so why not? Not sure when we're returning. LOL Our work just might be nice and allow us to stay an extra day or two but that's still being worked out since it was such short notice.
Will check in shortly after the meeting and respond to your great post, Koni! |

My uncle's surgery went well yesterday. I'm off to see him now. It is really amazing that they can actually make a new bladder from your intestines! Hopefully...the cancer didn't spread and he'll be fine. |

Weird about the email. I assumed you didn't get it because you always respond right back. It probably failed because I was at the airport and things were busy. |

They knew it was cancer before the surgery, but they did send the specimen for a pathology report after the surgery as well. The bone scan before the surgery was negative which is a good sign. |

^^^ That's soooooooooooo awesome and from my study of astrology it's very accurate! The only one I would slightly argue is Aquarius. Aquas are known to hold major grudges and never forget when they get hurt. That's the only one that seems a bit off. Otherwise, as a rule that's really on!

Who actually did the surgery then? Was it a gastro surgeon or urologist? Both? I had absolutely no idea they could do that either! Remarkable! |
